@babydidyoueat | No Knead Steamed Bread 🍞
As promised, here is my foolproof and super quick steamed bread recipe. I love steamed bread but I rarely have the patience or time to make a yeast version that requires kneading and proofing. I discovered this shortcut and I use it all the time now.
2 Cups Cake Flour (or 1 Cup Cake Flour and 1 Cup Bread Flour)
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil or Melted Butter
1 Tablespoon of Baking Powder
1. Add all dry ingredients into one bowl, mix them together
2. Add wet ingredients (water and oil) to dry ingredients then stir well until moistened and a soft dough forms (it doesn’t have to be super smooth like kneaded bread dough but make sure everything is mixed well and it isn’t lumpy)
3. Leave to rest while water comes to a boil in your pot.
4. Grease bread pan and put dough in pan.
5. Steam for 20 - 30 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted in the middle of the bread comes out clean and not sticky.
** I use a small bread pan for the bread and I steam it in a pot big enough for pan to lay flat in, in about 5cm of boiling water on a medium heat.
