"Taurus,.." Lit spoke the name carefully, taking in the sound of the name as cautiously as they had taken in his physique. Likewise, a powerful name seemed proper to beget a form that was as large as the God himself was. Even as comfortably spread out as any other mere mortal could be under the hot rays of a summer sun, so did Taurus. The ease in the posture did set the Tender’s anxieties at ease, bringing a smile to their face.
"The rules are for us as- as much as you, I would think," Lit made a face, mouth open to speak the Gods name freely, but finding it hard to speak with a lump in their throat. Stuttering at the worst times, as always. But the wash of redness did take them by surprise. They had certainly never seen a mortal flush- but to witness a God.. It was like a tiny wonderful victory, a miracle if that.
Taking part of the offered drink, Lit attempted to still their hands, a bit overwhelmed by the star struck feeling over taking them. Laughing breathily, they hid their wide smile in the cup, shoulders bunched. “You offer yourself up most freely, T-…Taurus. You are most friendly, and I am—. I am very grateful for that,” The tails tickled at the back of their calves and the smile they hid broke into a half fit of laughter, face flushing red from the sudden exertion. “I-, my Lor-, Taurus, forgive me, but you are indeed most friendly. And you have shown me great kindness bar-none. I’m honored to share your company- as. As a new found friend, if I maybe so bold?”
Lit fingered the cup in a nervous action, puffing out a comfortable chuckle at the God’s enthusiasm. “I am very new to your temple, a many failures have been upon my shoulders far more because of ignorance than negligence. I am glad that like this I can-. I cannot fail in being useful to you- and to your many accomplishments and memory of them.”
As embarrassing as it was to admit, Taurus did not know the tender’s name. He had never seen them before, a new late recruit for sure, someone he would have taken notice of later perhaps. Now though, with them not a foot away the God found himself a bit nervous, fiddling with the heavy gold bangles on his arms and twisting the delicate rings around his fingers.
"I’m..-..I’m afraid I never caught your name," he stated, hoping that wouldn’t come off as rude. His body betrayed his relaxed position, ears flicking about and tails curling nervously along Lit’s leg. This meeting felt different, for what ever reason. Perhaps because it was so abrupt or something else, Taurus did not know, but he found himself promising to remember the name.
"It is for all but sometimes rules are meant to be broken," Taurus responded wisely with a small chuckle to the end of it. He stretched a bit and tipped his head back, finding another piece of wheat to put between his teeth as he stared up at the stars and his constellation.
Judging by the smell Taurus would hazard a guess that the cup contained flavored water with some sugar. A simple sweet drink- he was glad he didn’t accidentally give them strong wine. The idea of Lit not remembering this saddened him greatly and Taurus tipped his head over until his horns stopped him, gaze half lidded and calm. "I am grateful that your perception of me has changed. I can only hope that it will be fixed for the rest in my temple." Taurus huffed, thinking of the scrolls he’d have to write, perhaps the dreams he’d have to influence in order to change the teachings in the temple.
Friend- that was a word he didn’t hear often and Taurus jolted, eyes widening as he stared at Lit. Again the flush crept onto his face but he continued to simply look shocked, the piece of wheat nearly slipping from his lips. "I’ve…never had a friend before," he admitted quietly, brow beginning to furrow. Weren’t friends just for the humans?
"Time," the god cleared his throat, attempting to regain his regal composure," is the teacher for us all. Only with that will you learn and grow into your place here. Chronos will smile fondly upon you or I shall make him." Another smile was shot Lit’s way. "Trust me, tender, you could never be a failure to me, or useless in anyway. Your devotion alone makes you important and cherished, as well as this good company."
A flutter of warmth- affection or maybe something similar to humbleness washed over the Tender, merely brought on by how open and human the God held himself. His soft nature and expressive body language was enough to tug a smile and a relaxed disposition from the young temple hand.
The flick and curl of roaming tails had a soft laugh bubbling from their lips, a polite hand coming up to dismiss any disrespect it may have caused. “Forgive me Taurus, I am called Elliot.”
They nodded solemnly after a moment, a twinge of some worry for punishment despite the Gods reassurace still a small weight upon their mind and chest. “They are good people, do not let my reaction persuade you to feel otherwise-,” they defended their firm teachers readily, fiddling with the cup in their grasp. “They surely only want to make sure you are not disturbed from your rest and important duties!”
There would’ve been some form of worry rolling in their chest if it weren’t for how comical the shocked expression looked stretched across Taurus’s handsome face. Again, the young tender hid their amused expression behind the wide rimmed chalice, afraid to take a sip lest they spill the liquid from a jolt of laughter. They held back their questions about the aspect of Gods and Humans actually joining in platonic comradery as such in human friendship. The flush of shock on the Gods face did have them thinking it was not such as it was down on earth, but they took to a reddened complexion when Taurus praised them easily, putting his faith into them with the simple encouraging words.
"Your flattery moves me greatly, my friend. You’ve done so much, and, I can only give you this much at my current level," they set down their cup gingerly, settling their basket on the other side to not be so gaurded as they had previously been, "I hope to continue to meet your standards- not, not just as a tender but as a companion."
