Reflection
Work ethic + organization group
Throughout these past 2 months of working on this project, our group has been consistently active in communication with each other and put in effort to work in down time hours out of class and job schedules. Our ideas and mindset towards creating a business were positive and were always supported by everyone. In terms of working together in selecting roles we all got to know one another and learn what skills and strengths each of us had which made it very natural when selecting sections of work to complete within the three of us. We stayed connected through a group message in which we shared ideas, scheduled calls linked helpful information and more. Since we all had different classes, our work was completed in our own time as well as calls which were highly effective and would go on for hours enjoyably as we loved our business and were all so passionate about it.
Obstacles
In terms of obstacles when reflecting on our group's growth and resilience made, our group initially started with myself, Asha, Lucy and Osuka. At the start of this assessment our ‘team's’ platform of communication struggled in connecting one of our group members lucy to our calls and chat due to unknown technology issue, this set us back a few weeks from the rest of the groups. Thank goodness Lucy's effort in communication with our group which made her be able to contact us and introduce herself on social media. In the end we sorted out the issues in teams and got lucy connected. The Main obstacle our group struggled with was one of our teammates Osuka who unknowingly removed himself from the groups project without communicating and letting us know until the later date of 28/09/2021. He left us with an unfulfilled workload with no explanation which I myself had to complete at the last minute before our presentation to Karle and the other groups. This was a complicated issue but made Lucy, Asha, and me more resilient and closer as a team to work together.
Personal contribution – final submission
In contribution towards our final assessment, I wrote the ‘About Us’ slide, which consisted of what our @home business is and how it functions. 'Business Strategy,’ which consists of how we would take our business to the market and the strategies we would implement. ‘SWOT Analysis’ being the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats what could potentially affect the @home's success. ‘Box Content,’ researching resources to which products will be included in our individual @home boxes such as pricing and calculating. ‘Initial ideas towards the app and website’ to which what should be implemented in our app and website to create a community of consumers. ‘Initial ideas towards the business concept’ Asha thought of the box idea, and I added the hobby categories to the business concept. 'Name idea of @home’ which was brainstormed as a team through our multiple collaboration meetings, but myself brought up the name idea of simply calling it @home. Overall, when reflecting on our group's progress made through this assessment, I could not have chosen a greater group of girls to work with, we all have an amazing work ethic and are passionate about our business in achieving the best. We all balanced roles and contribution upon one another and created an amazing friendship through our time and conversations spent together. I personally feel each one of us is extremely happy and satisfied with our hard work and contribution when working together. It is safe to say our work reflects our talent and love for this business and the dedication we all had.
