Shadowflare's saddle design is based on the Defenders' Triple Stryke Saddle from the Dreamworks: School of Dragons game. Love the wicked long spikes along the back, as well as the black leather paired with the red shield on the front~😎🛡

Character Bio:

Like Sleuther, Shadowflare was captured by Dragon Hunters, and forced to fight for survival in one of their brutal Dragon Fighting arenas against other captive dragons, where constant cruelty and combat forged him into a ferocious champion. When the Dragon Riders laid siege to the arena during a rescue mission, Shadowflare was freed and tended to by Marelda. Treating him not as a weapon, but as a fellow warrior deserving of care and respect, she became the first human to earn his trust and unwavering loyalty. While he remains uneasy around new and unfamiliar dragons and humans alike, Shadowflare shares an incredibly strong and devoted bond with his rider, and is fiercely protective of her. 🔥🐲🦂🖤💜🧡

Fun Fact 1: The Triple Stryke dragon design is an inspired combination of a scorpion, a bat, and a wasp~🦂🦇🐝

Fun Fact 2: The name Marelda is of Old German origin meaning "famous battle maiden" & "renowned warrior." I choose this name for my HTTYD Dragon Rider persona, both for its meaning(s) and similarity to my real first name, MaKayla~😎⚔️

Anyone else catch this corrected detail in the new HOTD teaser trailer?

Not only was the proper Targaryen sigil featured in AKOTSK, the incorrect four-legged dragon Targaryen sigil that was previously shown in the first two seasons of HOTD has been altered to depict the accurate two-legged version in the new upcoming third season as well~

I noticed the four-legged dragon sigil back in the earlier seasons of HOTD, and that design version really confused and bugged me, even before George R.R. Martin posted about it.

The dragon being depicted with three heads makes sense to represent King Aegon and his sister-wives, Queen Visenya and Queen Rhaenys (aka the three dragons that conquered the Seven Kingdoms), but the extra pair of legs never made sense. None of the dragons that have appeared in this franchise have ever had more than one pair of legs.

Glad to see HBO fixed their mistake.👍🏻

Nicknamed the Storm Shadow, Thunderbolt is the ferocious offspring of Meleys❤️👑, the Red Queen, and the fearsome wild dragon, Cannibal🖤💚☠️~

The sparks of lightning around his mouth are super cool surprise details indeed. Imagine how the Dance of the Dragons would have turned out if I had rode into battle allied to the Blacks atop a (mostly) black dragon nearly the size of Meleys, but with the ability to breathe lightning bolts instead of dragonfire. The Greens wouldn't stand a chance~😎⚡️

Thunderbolt🌩 was quite the majestic sight to see as he soared through the heavy snowfall in North Carolina today, flying alongside other HOTD: DracARys dragons. I like to imagine he was on the lookout for sinister White Walkers and their legions of undead soldiers~

Meet my HTTYD dragon OC, Shadowflare🦂🖤💜🧡

Shadowflare is a Triple Stryke from the HTTYD universe. The Triple Stryke is a medium-sized Strike Class dragon, renowned for their battle prowess and trio of venomous tails.

The stinger on each tail produces a different type of venom. The first numbs opponents, the second disorients them with mild hallucinogens, and the third causes an agonizing burning sensation in the bloodstream. In combat, the Triple Stryke will often braid its three prehensile tails together to deliver more powerful blows.

While their trio of tails serve as their primary offense and defense in battle, the Triple Stryke can also breathe continous streams of highly concentrated orange flames, capable of blinding other combatants.

This person first reached out to me around the beginning of December 2024, offering her services to create commission artworks of my dragons.

Due to lack of communication, no updates, and no evidence of work being done on the commission artwork of my HOTD dragon, Thunderbolt, that I paid her $100 for, that she claimed to have started working on, I then chose to cancel the commission and request that my $100 payment be returned to me for the uncompleted artwork and poor customer service.

I spent MONTHS asking for my money back, and every time she gives me the same excuse of "I have no money."

Even when I suggested that she could start refunding me by sending back my $100 in smaller payment installments, she never made an effort to even do that! Claiming that she didn't even have $25 to give back!

Never before have I had such a horrible and frustrating experience with a commission artist. I've tried to be patient and understanding, but needless to say, I am beyond angry and tired of dealing with this deplorable and deceitful person for so long!

Do not waste your time, and certainly do not waste your money on this scammer! You will not receive the commission artwork you paid for, nor will you get your money back! Don't fall for the same scam that I unfortunately did. Spread the word and help report this liar and thief!
