hey as long as discourse on whether joining the military is bad or not (it is) is doing the rounds again, i’d like to remind everyone that people who were in the military but are not any longer are not ontologically incapable of being leftists or good people. many of the military’s harshest critics are vets. they’ve seen what the military can do. they’ve personally been chewed up and spat. so have their friends. they know first hand the horrors the military has inflicted on the world.

obviously many vets never stop drinking the kool-aid. but many others do. and we shouldn’t reject them as comrades. chelsea manning was in the army before becoming a whistleblower. edward snowden was in the nsa. etc. yes call out people for joining, keep pointing out it’s wrong to kill people for money. even if you’re poor. even if you’re ignorant. but don’t condemn someone solely for their past if they’ve done the hard work of learning and growing. i think it’s pretty easy to walk and chew gum on this one. but it’s easy for some of us to forget that we have to.

"The sexual abuse of Aboriginal women by white men was an open secret during the frontier era, able to exist and persist as long as no one showed it for what it was in polite society. The degrading language and characterization of Aboriginal women as dirty, immortal, disease-ridden, and inferior allowed white men to rationalize flouting their own rules of racial separation. When the evidence- their own children- could be denied no longer, those children were taken and forced to adapt to white society in a crude and traumatic attempt to "breed the color out".

Like African women in what was to become the United States, Aboriginal women were blamed for their own victimization. However, whereas the children of the former were funneled into the slavery economy, those of the latter were first neglected and denied and then brought my force into white society. In both places, the labeling of Black women as "easy" served a double purpose: as well as absolving white men of any wrongdoing by positioning Black women as less evolved, animalistic, and ruled by their own carnal desires, it differentiated Black women from white women, thereby justifying the sexualization of the former and the sexual repression of the latter.

This created a false binary between white women and all other women. As I will explain throughout this book, not only is this binary still with us, if in a more muted form, it is the seed from which white supremacy was cultivated."

1. Lets start with the fact that they treat their own employees like dogshit, sometimes refusing to pay them (*cough* Alan Dean Foster *cough*)

2. They literally have a whole monopoly on the movie industry

3. Or when they shutted down Blue Sky Studio (the one who made the Ice Age saga) leaving 450 people JOBLESS during the PANDEMIC!

5. Back in 2019 Disney refused to let a father made a spider man themed funeral for his kid (his kid was a big spider man fan) because they didnt want people to associate the character with death (in my opinion this is one of the stupidest excuse i've ever heard)

6. They literally MOCKED Bobby Driscoll with a caricature in that crappy cip and dale movie (i advice to go search his story)

7. In 1989 Disney threatened legal action against 3 kindergarden because of murals with their character on it

8. In august 2024 a woman died because of an allergy in a disney restaurant, his husband tried to sue the company. Disney attempted to dismiss the case using disney plus arbitration terms

9. And for cherry on top of the list. Disney is now investing in AI

As for the "wokeness" problem, that there are people saying "Disney is grooming our children with lgbt😡"

Disney couldnt care less about lgbt people, they see them just as marketing
