Felix wasn’t a light sleeper. He either got so high that he floated away unsure if he really ever slept or just swam somewhere between dreams and reality, or didn’t sleep at all. These past couple of weeks were easier and CALMER for him, the mutant closing his eyes way more often and resting quite better than in the torturing six months of his existence. But nonetheless, a dry throat was a dry throat and he possibly wouldn’t have thought anything about the movement in their living room—there was a cat somewhere, and he was too sleepy to realize she slept peacefully next to him—not until the movement became so human.
GREAT, now he had to fight off some intruder a l o n e while Beatrix was completely knocked OUT and buried in the world of dreams and pillows. She was the feisty one, and she was the better option for a fight, and Felix? The mentalist took a table LAMP, ready to use it as a weapon and hit the notorious criminal in the head if need be. His steps were careful, almost on the tips of his toes, sneaking towards the corner, holding his breath.
He “cunningly” turned on the light in the room before jumping out and——
a SCREAM escaped his throat, Felix HUGGING the lamp more than preparing himself to make a hit with it. “GOD-damnit!” He breathed in through clenched teeth, any signs of sleep getting out of his system in a matter of seconds. A familiar face was a relief for him to see, even if his expression didn’t show it.
Awkward? “You THINK?” A bitter sigh fell and he tossed the lamp aside on a sofa, rubbing his eyes and taking a pause before continuing speaking. “What are you DOING here? If Beatrix sees you, she’ll think you’re here for the morning sex or some shit.”
the scream caused a STARTLE. near jumping out of her skin ---- that wasn’t the reaction that she’d been hoping for in the least. still, there were worse places she could have ended up. there were worse places she had. maybe if she just explained. . . then again, how did one explain this ?? she wasn’t even sure what was going on with herself, and the one place answers might’ve been found didn’t seem the safest place to go.
“i’m sorry, i’m s o r r y. look, i can explain.” time to put those acting chops to the test. . . or something. her stomach was a flutter of nerves, and not of the welcome sort. “- and is beatrix really that suspecting ?? if i were going to do something with a man who’s spoken for, i definitely wouldn’t sneak in first thing in the morning while she was in bed.” beside the point, but it bought her time. “unless, that sort of risk were my thing. i mean, i imagine it’s kind of exciting, but i have a boyfriend, so. . .” her gaze flickered up towards him, smiling nervously. “yeah.”
“so, the reason i’m here, right. you see, i wound up staying out later than intended and needed to get inside somewhere, so i thought to myself. . . why not visit my pal felix ---- then you were asleep && i didn’t want to wake you guys so i figured i’d slip out before anyone woke up.” a decisive nod. yup. that was what she was going with.
