“Are you saying you want to take me to a McDonald’s to abuse my vessel’s age and get yourself a Happy Meal?”
“He’s doing very well. But I knew he would, he was made for me. Even at this young.” He flexed his hand briefly, watching as a light across the street burst with a casual display of power. “It helps he’s not fighting me.”
Ruby’s eyebrows raised as he spoke, genuinely surprised that little Sammy wasn’t fighting back as hard as he could. “He’s not fighting you? Well that’s a win all on its own.” She smiled, watching the light outside the window shatter its glass all over the sidewalk. “It must feel nice. Having all that power back.”
