"Yes, as in the Battle Frontier. How would I know how youâve ended up here?"
The Battle Dome was the only facility Ruby had participated in before. He remembered that all of the facilities had different rulings, but he didn't remember anything else further than that. "What are the rules here?"

"Hello, welcome to the Battle Factory. How can I help you?"
"Wait. Battle Factory? As in, the Battle Frontier? How'd I end up here?"
A muffled groan escaped her lips, âugh, donât remind me about that." The whole experience of being stone for an undefinable amount of time really made her cranky. âbut it has! How are the contests, youâre still doing those right? Iâve always wanted to try one out myself since Red and Green have taken over the whole battling scene in Kanto."Â
Ruby understood the whole deal with not wanting to bring up the Battle Frontier incident. Although he wasn't one of the Dex Holders trapped in stone, it's not like it was a pleasant ordeal for him either. "I'm still doing Contests! While I already have all of the Contest ribbons in Hoenn, I'm not going to stop here. My passion won't die down that easily!"
Thinking back to the last time he saw Red and Green, he remembered how skilled at battling the two of them were when all of the Dex Holders competed in the Battle Dome tournament. "You really should try out Contests, though! With your Pokémon, I'm sure you'd be a rising star in no time." In truth, he would find it great to have another Dex Holder besides him who understood Contests. While Sapphire had taken appreciation of the way he treated his own Pokémon, he knew he wouldn't be able to convince her to actually take part in a Contest anytime soon.

Sucreâs smile faltered as she noticed the other frown as he scanned her from head to toe, had she already offended this stranger? It made her lips turn into a frown, carefully watching his movements. She swallowed uncomfortably, already regretting her decision to come and try to talk to this colorful stranger. Especially being so different where she was literally paper white and ink black. When the other finally responded it made her very surprised, they easily could have ran from her.
"Ruby?" she tilted her head. âthat is a very pretty name, I have herd nothing of the sort where  come from" she nodded, agreeing with her words. âMost names where I come from are⊠very different. I like how yours sounds, it is so refreshing." among other things like how pink he looked. Or that his hair was dark black and yet still had color to it! âMy name is Sucre. Far different from Ruby"
Ruby was proud of his own name. After all, he was someone who wanted to be a star and get his name out there and become well known. When people commented on his name, however, they were usually insults about how girly of a name it was, considering he was a boy. It's a miracle that his dad even allowed for Ruby to be named that, especially looking back at how Norman used to hate his feminine tendencies. To have someone actually compliment his name was a new concept.
Although he was taken a bit back from the oddity of how Sucre was observing him, Ruby became more at ease after getting used to the situation. After all, attention was attention, wasn't it? Ruby was hard pressed to find something he enjoyed more than just being the center of attention.Â
He took note of her own name. "Sucre? Not a name I would've picked for one of my own Pokémon," he bluntly stated. It just wouldn't fit into the naming scheme he had for his team. "But it fits you." There was something peculiar about the name, which went hand in and hand with how peculiar Sucre herself was.

"Ruby! I got somethinâ for ya from papa!"
"Hm? What is it?" If it was a gift from Sapphire's dad over Sapphire himself, at least Ruby could expect it to be something practical.
rubylightsofgrandeur bumped into you
Shoppers rushed by Ruby from all directions. The Lilycove Department Store was having a big sale and everyone was there to take advantage of that. Ruby, unsurprisingly, was on the 5th floor buying supplies for his secret base. He took a second to think about when he started treating Sapphire's secret base as his own, but none of that mattered now.
He had just finished his purchases which included some posters, a mat, and an absolutely adorable Pichu Doll. He couldn't help but to take the Pichu Doll out of the bag to admire just how adorable it was. On his way out, he abruptly stopped in shock when he noticed a boy with a very, very similar taste in fashion to his own.

"Ahh itâs fine, just do it fast."
"Speed? No problem! I can get everything organized in a flash."
I don't know if I have said it yet, but welcome to the coolest pokemon generation club! We not only have t-shirts, but fashion far beyond anyone else.
We are fashionable~!

"Oh my GodâŠ"  Danny grimaced, watching the spectacle before him.  A bunch of ribbons were being shoved in his face for no real reason at all⊠not like Danny asked for it.  He looked around to see if anyone else was catching this absolutely uncalled for encounter with this guy, but unfortunately he was stuck alone, besides a weird looking dog standing next to Ruby.  Hell, Danny didnât even know what all those ribbons were forâŠ.  not that he really wanted to know seeing as heâd never hear the end of it. Â
When the mamodo saw the sewing kit he finally thought he had some clarity in all of this.  Honestly he was pretty sure of something before he saw this guy but first glances could be deceiving.  "Wait⊠are you⊠a girl?"  He questioned, genuinely curious.
"Not this again." He had already received enough comments about his femininity from Sapphire, who seemed to lack any feminine traits herself whatsoever, despite being an actual girl. "For your information, I am a boy! In Contests, it's a pretty even 50/50 participation ratio between males and females. Just because I give importance to hygiene and looking presentable does not mean I'm a girl!"
"Now as for you..." He looked back at Danny, taking note that he actually had to tilt his head upwards to see where Danny's hair ended. "You. need. help." He swapped the sewing kit in his bag for his makeup kit. "Now, shall we begin?"

"Oh heeellloooo strangers ~ well for now at least. Iâm Blue â„ Second runner up in the pokemon league, you know."
"Senior Blue!" While Ruby still couldn't figure out what the appeal in seriously competing in Pokémon Battles was, he understood why Blue was so proud of her accomplishment. He liked it when people held pride. "It's been a while since the whole Battle Frontier mess, hasn't it?"

Yancy smiled at him. âReally none of them like shopping?" That was pretty surprising. Most of the people she met in Unova liked shopping so she thought that pretty much everyone did. Maybe it was culture differences or something. She listened to him talk about Hoenn. It did sound a really nice place. She couldnât imagine living there, though. She needed the city. Not to mention that her career was pretty much based around technology. Maybe she should go on holiday there sometime. She smiled as he thanked her. She had only been telling the truth, after all. âYour welcome!"Â
When he grabbed her hand, she went to tell him that he was going the wrong way but he stopped before she had the chance. âitâs this way." She answered, leading him in the opposite direction. âItâs just outside of Opelucid City so we arenât too far away."Â
"Ah! I guess that makes it obvious just how lost I am." Looking around, he was grateful that everyone was minding their own business and no one seemed to notice his mishap. As he was a performer who presented in front of large crowds, looking bad in front of others was one of his worst nightmares.Â
Ruby took Yancy's words and started to travel in the right direction. Hopefully, from now on, he would know where to go.
((Added a music player to the blog! It's a song that would be really obvious which shows how completely unoriginal I am with songs.))

"Hey, itâs not like campinâ outdoors is a bad thing every once in a while! I had to sleep outside a few times whenever I ran outta money." Granted, most of the time he ran out of money was from splurging on food or being kicked out of casinos for âcheatingâ (He would call it careful use of his Pokemon), but Ruby doesnât need to know that much.
Gold reached into his back pocket to retrieve his wallet, and after checking how much money he had and considering if he had enough for a better hotel, he decided to take the one in Petalburg City. âYeah, Petalburg sounds good," Gold replied, although he should have probably asked if Ruby knew if either of the hotels would allow his Pokemon to run about freely in his room. Itâs a question he can ask later, he told himself, because now he was more curious about Rubyâs visit to Johto.
"Yeah, itâd be pretty sweet if you could take me there! I had to head straight to the Battle Frontier last time I came here," he said. After placing his wallet back into his pocket, he spoke again. âYouâve been to Johto?"
Before he began to talk, Ruby started to put away his supplies in an orderly fashion. Organization was key to him, so they way he would be able to find exactly where he stored his materials and be able to pick up where he left off where he returned.Â
While continuing to tidy up, he replied, "We'll need to go through two routes and cut through Oldale Town to get to Petalburg. It's not that far and I make the commute there every once in a while to visit my dad, who's the gym leader there."
With his belongings now tucked away, he got up and walked towards the door, signaling for Gold to follow him. "Been to Johto? I used to live there! Goldenrod, to be precise. Being a well bred city boy, Hoenn was hard to adapt to at first." He thought back to when Sapphire had harshly yelled at him for not wanting to protect Hoenn and he had foolishly said that the countryside wasn't for him... not exactly his fondest memory. "It's home now, though."

Sucre had been wandering for sometime now, looking for her Zacharie to pester him about going to see her father. It has been far too hot in the zones, causing her to tie her jacket around her waist. To her she saw no issue with how she presented herself, clad in two appropriate Xâs on her chest as her only form of cover from the waist up. This was normal, even if it resulted in some awkward shuffling from the elsen of other zones. Then again, they were always awkwardly shuffling about one thing or another.
She sucked in a deep breath, wandering out way far past her allowed boundaries. There was no plastic here hitting the ground, encouraging her to explore this ânewâ world so to speak further. It wasnât until the scenery took a sharp change did the tall female notice the young boy ahead of her. They were quite different besides their gender, for one Sucre was six feet in height with features that of a complete gray scale, while this boy had color to his features like the grounds she walked on. She couldnât help but stare, she never had before witnessed something like this. As far as she was aware, everyone was black and white such as herself, and nobody was as short really as this boy was in comparison to herself.Â
She gave a little wave, giving him a toothy grin, she really never realized how creepy she could come off. âHello there! :-)"
Hearing a greeting, Ruby's attention was caught. Despite his rash and quick witted nature, he wasn't sure how to react to the girl presently in front of him... if she even was a girl. That time he dealt with the Salamence? That was an intimidating dragon, no thinking required! This... was a different situation, however.
With his glasses he rarely wore on, he observed the girl towering over him before making a reply. For someone who was so invested into fashion, color was a big part of Ruby's life. He knew of its importance and knew by heart color theories in order to make his designs more appealing. To see someone being completely drained of color, it seemed almost sickly to him.
Ruby stood up straight and had his hand placed over his heart. He tried to introduce himself with confidence like he always did during a Contest, but it came off with nervousness due to how bizarre the girl was. "H-hey there! My name's Ruby!"

"Oh, hey!" Gold replied, scratching the back of his head. It had been a few years since he last saw any of his juniorsâ Ruby includedâ but he hadnât expected to run into him like this.
⊠This being the fact that he might be just a tad lost. He hadnât visited Hoenn ever since the incident with Guile Hideout, and he wanted to explore a bit more than he originally had when he first arrived. He may have been able to sample some food, but he hadnât had time to relax and take in the sights. He supposed he had his seniors and Silver to thank for that, but hey. That was pretty important business.
"The reason Iâm here? UhâŠ" he paused, taking a few seconds to think up an excuse. âLostâ doesnât exactly sound like a cool reason to be in front of Ruby, and thereâs no way heâs admitting that embarrassing fact to his junior. âWell, I thought Iâd take a look around! We were kinda busy last time I came here, so I figured Iâd come back and see what I missed."
"⊠I, uh, didnât realize this was your house, though," he admitted, pocketing his hands. âI was gonna, uh⊠⊠see if I could get directions to the nearest hotel or something." Yeah, sounds like a decent enough excuse. âNo one answered the door, so I thought Iâd pop in and see if anyone was actually home! Didnât think Iâd bump into you, though!"
"A hotel is what you need? No problem! While on my journey, I lived in hotels, so I know where they all are. Not that Sapphire would ever understand their importance..." He was amazed at how Sapphire was so capable at living life outdoors. Although, it's not as if that's a lifestyle he would personally want to live by.
Glancing at the clock again and checking his schedule, he saw that it was within his time allowance to take a break and still finish what he set out to do. "The nearest one is in Oldale, but there's a better one not that much further away in Petalburg. I can take you there myself, if you want," he offered. He took a moment to consider how strange it was for him to be so willing to go to Petalburg, seeing as to how when he first moved to Hoenn, he initially wanted to avoid the place like the plague to avoid his father. "I know from personal experience just how different Hoenn's routes are from Johto's, but by now I know how to navigate them."

âPeace at lastâŠâ Danny murmured, standing tall with his arms behind his head looking upwards just slightly. He set out on his own after a morning full of Mr. Goldo nagging him about the idea that the teen should take up some studies to do in his spare time, or at least some reading which Danny had blatantly refused. The older man claimed it was his responsibility to prevent the mamodo from becoming a complete âNeanderthalâ and since he didnât have to go to school while in the human world, he should try to catch up on his learning.Â
Repeatedly Danny had reminded him that he was here for a battle, not a field trip, so every time the subject came up the teenager simply claimed heâd do what Mr. Goldo said most of the time⊠but if he thought he was going to get a mamodo to be homeschooled in the human world, he had another thing coming.Â
Taking a deep breath, his ears perked up upon hearing someone nearby and glanced down he heard some shrill complaint⊠something along the lines of⊠âFashion disaster?â Bristling up in instinctual defense, Danny narrowed his eyes and exclaimed, âExcuse you dumbass, who the hell do you think youâre talking to?!â Resorting to immediate counter insult.Â
Finally getting a better look at the boy, his angry face turned to one of disgust that someone like this⊠a scrawny kid with a stupid looking hat and dorky outfit was commenting on the mamodoâs appearance. âSpeak for yourself.â He scoffed, giving Ruby his full attention. Â
"Speak for myself? Why certainly!" As if Ruby would ever give up an perfect opportunity to brag about his accomplishments. While he was trying to not be as much of a braggart as he used to be to the point of ignoring his own PokĂ©mon, he was still immensely proud of the achievements of him and his dear PokĂ©mon.Â
He pulled out of his bag his Contest ribbons, showing off how accomplished his Pokémon were. "That's not all, either." He took out his emergency sewing kit, which he always kept on hand in his bag. Losing it would cause him to panic. "As you can see, fashion is a big deal to me. I know what I'm talking about."
