A Coon In A Colorful Heaven: Chapter 7-Â âParent of the Year goes to...â
Coon- Â A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
This Chapter continues to follow the Eternal story of a man named Damien. When we last saw Damien, he was finally brought to Veronicaâs Purgatory. While within it Angie showed Damien what became of his daughter. Veronica had became a black orb of energy; Unable to go to heaven or hell. After seeing his daughter changed this way, Damien asked Angie to show him how she grew to become this way. So as asked Angie took Damien back in time to witness the life of his daughter....
    -Within The Memory Realm-
Angie: Never hurt her huh? *looking at Damien*
Damien: Listen... i.... i didnât know something like that would happen
Damien: I was just so angry... and i wanted to leave.. i had no intention of hurting Lexis like that..
Angie: Regardless of your intention you still caused a ripple affect that day. This was Veronicaâs first taste of true sadness and fear. Delivered by her own father...
Angie: What do you think happens in a 5 year olds head when she experiences something like that?
Damien: I.. i have no ideaÂ
Angie: As we go along youâll see
Angie: Thankfully the worse case scenario didnât happen that day, or who knows what would have happened to her
*A wide plump older woman comes walking into the room*
Older Woman: Oh my lord... CHARLES! CHARLES CALL THE AMBULANCE!! *runs over to Veronica holding her mother*
Charles: *comes running in* what the hell happened!
Older Woman: *holding up Lexis head, applying pressure to the wound* I donât know but we need to get her to a hospital fast.
Older Woman: *looks at Veronica* are you ok baby?
Young Veronica: *quickly nods her head*
Older Woman: ok thatâs good. where did your father go?
Young Veronica: *Shrugs her shoulders*
Older Woman: That good for nothing son of a bi- *takes a deep breath*. Charles did you call the ambulance!
Charles: im on the phone with them now. *goes back to talking on the phone with the police*
Damien: Charles and Mrs. Brown...Â
Angie: Thankfully those two came. Without them this story would have been a lot darker for Veronica
Damien: ...
Mrs. Brown: How long did they say it would take?
Charles: They said one should be here in 15 minutes, but we both know that at least means 30 minutes from now..
Mrs. Brown: ok... ok.. from what i can tell she has a small gash on the back of her head..
Mrs. Brown: Sheâs not bleeding a lot but i donât know how deep or bad this gash could be..
Mrs. Brown: Charles ima need you to go get some clean towels, my gauze wrap and some tape
Charles: OK *runs out of the room and heads to their apartment*
Young Veronica: *sitting down watching everything happen in a daze*
Mrs. Brown: *sitting herself up better and re-positioning Lexis body* Ok.. ok.. *looks over at Veronica* Veronica sweetie?Â
Veronica: Yes..
Mrs. Brown: Ima need you to go in your bathroom and go clean up.
Mrs. Brown: Can you do that for me?
Young Veronica: *nods*
Mrs. Brown: ok then sweetie go on now
Young Veronica: *stands up and walks to the bathroom*
Angie: Mrs. Brown was a hero that day..
Damien: Yea.. that old lady did a lot for us. Hell she helped us get that apartment.
Damien: She never really liked me much.
Angie: I wonder why..
Young Veronica: *goes into the bathroom*
Young Veronica: *as she runs the water she begins to stare into the mirror and begin to go into a trance*Â
Damien: What is she doing?..
Angie: Sheâs most likely trying to compartmentalize everything that just happened. Her life has been flipped in the matter of minutes and she hasnât even shed a tear yet..
Damien: Is that normal..
Angie: Nothing is ever really normal when it comes to humans.. But itâs definitely not something that the average child her age would do.
Mrs. Brown: Everything ok in there Veronica?
Young Veronica: *snaps out of her trance* yes maâam! *quickly washes her hands and goes back into the kitchen*
*Charles runs back into the room*
Charles: ok i got everything
Mrs. Brown: Ok Good!
- As time went by Mrs. Brown tried her very best in helping Lexis-
Mrs. Brown was a 65 year old black woman that has seen her fair share of wounds and violence. She was born in deepest part of Alabama where she lived for 25 years before moving to Philadelphia. Throughout her life she saw the many faces of humanity and loss many friends and family from race wars to gang violence. But these traumatic experiences never stopped her from seeing the good in people nor did they stop her from helping them.
   -45 minutes pass by-
Mrs. Brown: *laying Lexis head down gently on the couch pillow* ok that should do it for now till the ambulance comes..
Charles: Piece of shit 911. They never seem to be quick enough when some actual emergency happens. But let a lil black boy steal a lollipop and OH BOY they be on yo ass i tell ya
Mrs. Brown: Hush now Charles, you know we live in a city and not a mighty friendly one at that. Black folks getting shot up left and right everyday around here, I donât think they have enough trucks to carry all the bodies to the hospital in the first place.
Charles: *grumbles* yea yea...
Mrs. Brown: *walks over to veronica and kneels in front of her* now looka here, your mother is going to be just fine. She just has a little cut on her head. Once the ambulance get her theyâll make sure she gets the best help possible.
Young Veronica: ok..
Mrs. Brown: Well looka here.. *rubbing Veronicaâs cheek* Not a tear drop on you. You must be a strong girl huh?
Young Veronica: *shrugs her shoulders*
Mrs. Brown: Well your mother is a strong woman, so you definitely is.
Mrs. Brown: You hungry?
Young Veronica: *nods*
Mrs. Brown: Well lets see whatâs in here to eat *gets up and goes over to the cabinets*
Mrs. Brown: Charles you wouldnât believe this mess! nothin but canned food and tv dinners
Mrs. Brown: *looks over at Veronica* Yo momma ainât never cooked?
Young Veronica: *shakes her head*
Mrs. Brown: well that just wonât do!
Mrs. Brown: Charles go to our apartment and get that hamburger meat, spaghetti noodles, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, black pepper, salt and vegetable oilÂ
Mrs. Brown: We gon have some spaghetti
Charles: *standing up* with all the spaghetti you cook, youâd think you was part Italian.
Mrs. Brown: Yo butt is gonna be part foot if you keep playin around
Charles: yea yea *goes to get supplies*
Young Veronica: *giggles*
Angie: *raises her hand and stops the memory*
Angie: Amazing isnât it. Look at everything Veronica is experiencing in one day.
Angie: Sadness, Abandonment, Fear..
Angie: Followed by Comfort, Protection and Hope..
Angie: No wonder why she became the way she is.. Amazing..
Damien: *places his hands on his face* The only amazing thing here is how much damage i could cause
Damien: I was so stupid back then..
Angie: Yea.. yea you were *raises her hand and continues the memory*
-Charles arrives with the ingredients and Mrs. Brown begins to cook-
     *An Hour passes*
Mrs. Brown: Ok everyone, come and eat *sets plates on the table with the noodles and sauce in the middle*
*Charles and Veronica come sit at the table*
Mrs. Brown: *sits down at the table* ok everyone grab hands *grabs Charles hands*
Charles: *grabs Veronicaâs hands*
Young Veronica: *looks around confused*
Mrs. Brown: *says a quick prayer* ok now lets eat *puts food on Veronicaâs plate*
-For the first Five minutes everyone eats in silence-
Mrs. Brown: So Veronica.. do you know what happened to your mom?
Young Veronica: *Nods*
Mrs. Brown: Wanna tell me what happened?..
Young Veronica: ....
Young Veronica: *looks down at her plate and plays around with her food*
Mrs. Brown: *looks at Charles*
Charles: *looks backs and shrugs*
Mrs. Brown: Ok... we can talk about it later then..
Young Veronica: ok..
Lexis: *groans*
Mrs. Brown: oh my goodness.. is she up? *gets up and walks over to Lexis*
Mrs. Brown: Lexis... Lexis baby are you ok..
Lexis: *looks at Mrs. Brown with shocked and confused eyes* who... who are you
Mrs. Brown: Huh? itâs me... Mrs. Brown your neighbor..
Lexis: *quickly stands up holding her head* Who are you and where am i
So for some reason Tumblr won't allow my post to upload normally. Everytime i try to upload them, it loads and just goes straight to my drafts. Im assuming it's because of the length since i tried to shove as much as i could for each chapter. Each chapter is about 2x bigger than normal because of how i set them up.
Soooo i'll be chopping them up into 10 chapters which i didn't want to do because I wanted to avoid spamming everyone's feed. So i'll be uploading 2 chapters a day for the rest of this week.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience đ
Sooo i know i haven't updated this story with a new chapter in 4 weeks buut there is a reason for that
So im turning Coon In A Colorful Heaven into a comic book ontop of a regular book. After going over it, and thinking about what made the story so interesting for most of you and what got it attention. i came to the conclusion that a comic would not only bring everything to life but also make it legit.
Plus i'd be able to have this story on multiple platforms.
Plus i've also been writing the story for a new comic that's coming out about black witches, which took up alot of my time because im literally writing a universe for it with African Gods and culture all mixed in it.
So as you can see i've haven't had the time to regularly post the chapters weekly like i usually do.
So what does that mean: just because i haven't uploaded doesn't mean that i haven't been writing things out. Taking thing from paper to the computer, plus finding the accurate gifs for them all is a hassle at times; especially with everything else going on. But, Next Friday i will be releasing 5 chapters on one night
So for those that patiently waited, i truly thank you all for even keeping this in your head. And for the newer viewers, thank you for joining in.
Like i said in the beginning this is a project, and because of you guys supporting and enjoying this, it's been able to evolve into a legit book and a FREAKIN COMIC.
This is all of you guys doing. Without y'all checking in and reading, this story would have been wrapped up 4 chapters ago. But i promise to tell and create an compelling story for you guys, that not only makes us laugh but also discusses the serious problems with racism, colorism and broken families. So at the end of it all this fictional story can be something real and something that won't only remind us of the problems we face, but also a way to find a solution and understanding; so that we can change our culture for the better.
Thank you all for your continued support by just reading and liking these chapters. I hope I can make the wait worth your while and expectations.
A Coon In A Colorful Heaven: Chapter 6- âPurposely Purposed Purposely..â
Coon- Â A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
This Chapter continues to follow the Eternal story of a man named Damien. When we last saw Damien, he had finally met his Great Great Grandfather Julian. His Grandmother Lisa had Julian summoned so that he could help educate Damien about colorism since Julian use to believe in that mindset when he was alive. But getting through to Damien proved to be somewhat of a challenge until Damienâs Great Cousin Claudia came and showed him her life as a slave. Damien got to see and feel a glimpse of what she experience but it was so much that Damien almost Broke. The Family must now figure out a way to educate Damien without breaking him and before he fully deteriorates....
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: This boy really is something special. You mean to tell me that this man went all or at least a majority of his life never experiencing any major amount of Grief, Depression, or Heartache.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â So this lil nigga just been getting slight headaches and shit like that his whole life??
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â No Julian i doubt that. But itâs very strange that he hasnât felt any serious pain. Or perhaps he just pushed thing away so deep that he couldnât feel those pains, plus always avoiding them.
Uncle Craig: Well Grandma you know where we come from. Itâs not like he didnât have access to plenty of ways to drown out pain or run from it..
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â I get that but come on. This was a Black Man that lived on Earth in America. A BLACK. MAN. IN. AMERICA. Last i checked black folks still getting killed over racism only dropped by 15% so how the hell did this negro not feel Grief from that alone.
Aunt Tanya: Probably the same way he thinks that colorism doesnât exist. By ignoring it
Damien: *wiping his eyes* Can you guys not talk like iâm not here
Aunt Tanya: Trust we havenât forgottenÂ
Damien: Look i obviously couldnât ignore the shit that happened to black people. Some shit was out of line that were just racist but there were alot of things that black people did that they caused themselves.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Ok so he a Coon Coon huh
Aunt Tanya: I been said that
Damien: Can yâall not call me that..
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Why not? The name fits perfectly. Youâre a black man that is ignoring racism and its affects while also suffering from it
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Boy you are literally deteriorating because of it
Damien: No im deteriorating because all of this is confusing. None of this makes sense ok?
Damien: I just died and got into Heaven just to get a history lesson.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â Damien.. youâre here because part of you doesnât feel like you belong here and another part doesnât know why
Damien: And you think this drawn out family gathering is helping?
Damien: Look i understand the stuff black women went through, I have Claudia to thank for that. But I donât see what this has to do with helping me in the long run.
Damien: I want to see Veronica, i want some solid answers not these discussions on racism from a family that i barely knew!!
Uncle Craig: ...
Aunt Tanya: ...
???: If thatâs what you think you need to see then fine..
*Angie Walks through the crowd of family*
Angie: I will show you where she is at but you may not like what you see *places her hand on Damienâs shoulder*
*A Gray and Silver Light Crashes down taking Damien and Angie downward*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: I sure hope my Grand Baby is ready..
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â He has no choice but to be at this point...
     -Within The Gray Beam-
Damien: Where are we going and why does this feel slower than any other time weâve been beamed away
Angie: Where iâm taking you is outside of Heaven... A realm completely for her..
Damien: So Veronica isnât in Hell?! She made her own zone and everything?
Angie: Not Necessarily... Listen Damien what youâre about to see maybe hard..
Angie: Veronica... well.. I guess itâs best for you to see..
Damien: oook?...
*The Gray Beam light lands and dissipates, Leaving Angie and Damien behind*
Damien: Where are we now.. *looking around*
Angie: Well.. weâre in her purgatory..
Inside the room Damien and Angie were in seemed very similar to the judgement room. The room itself was very wide but felt small. The air felt cold and sharp. The colors of the walls were gray and blackish, like milky smoke on fire. The walls themselves seemed alive as the colors moved and broke apart within them. And in the middle of the room stood a Black Orb, levitating off the ground.
Damien: What is that *staring at the Black Orb*
Angie: Thats.. thatâs Veronica..
Damien: *Looks at Angie* What... how is that Veronica *stares back at the orb and begins to run towards it*
As Damien ran he felt his energy begin to fade. Every step felt heavier than the last. The closer he got the more overbearing it became.
Damien: *falls to his knees panting* what the fuck is going on... why do i feel so heavy
Damien: My feet feel like clumps of wet clay and my body feels like it has a hundred pounds on it..
Angie: *walks next to him* This is her Purgatory, Her Zone of sorts. It effects everyone that is in it and each Purgatory has itâs own affects.
Damien: Then why are you perfectly ok?...
Angie: Because iâm a Angel. Our Energy far outweighs yours for obvious reasons. So rooms or zones like these canât affect us.
Damien: Well since your an Angel that seems to have all the answers then explain that thing *points to the Black Orb*
Damien: How the Hell is that Veronica? Itâs not even a person.. itâs just some big ball of energy Â
Angie: And what do you think Humans are? What do you think your Soul is made out of?
Angie: Everything that was or ever has been is made up of energy. From your skin, hair, blood and even the air you breath. Energy makes up every part of it. Life is made out of energy.
Angie: All death is, is the loss of certain energy within you that breaks down and is taken away from you. Your Core... Your Soul.. itâs youâre unique energy that leaves your body and is brought to Your Judgment Room.
Angie: Heaven, The After Life, Reincarnation. What happens to your energy is completely your choice. Depending on what you believe in, you could have became one with the earth and became a tree. Nothing is impossible in that regard.
Angie: *pointing at the Black Orb* That is what happens when the energy doesnât believe it belongs anywhere..
Damien: So this is her Hell?
Angie: Not really.. Itâs like an in-between. Hell is when the energy or soul of a person refuses to believe or accept what theyâve done to themselves or others. Their energy becomes so twisted and broken that they cocoon themselves in an endless void as their energy breaks apart spreading out throughout the void, searching for something that isnât there forever.
Damien: Thatâs not what i was ever told..
Angie: Well your kind mostly used the idea of hell to control people with fear. But even still you guys wouldnât have been able to fully comprehend Hell until you got here.
Damien: Then whats happening to Veronica?
Angie: Veronica accepted all her faults kinda.. she was equally as twisted as you are when it came to knowing and understanding certain things.
Angie: But the amazing part is that she could recognize and acknowledge the confusion or lack of understanding. But she didnât want to change either..
Angie: She saw no point in changing... no point in understanding. She felt nothing..
Damien: Nothing.. *tries to stand* how could she feel nothing..
Angie: Itâs how she was raised and lived. Your energy and soul is sculpted by your experiences. Energy is pure and malleable, but can be fixated and unchangeable depending on what happens.
Angie: She spent her whole life cutting things off that she didnât understand or want. Whether it was memories, emotions or people. She was able to completely rid things out of her life that she felt didnât matter or that was un-needed.
Angie: You could imagine where she got the blueprints for that from *looks down at Damien*
Damien: *looks down at the ground*
Damien: So... her soul became this black orb..
Angie: More like sheâs within the black orb *kneels down and opens her hand in front of Damien*
*Light Begins to form around Angieâs hand*
As light began to circle around Angieâs Palm, a distinct yet hazey image began to form.
Damien: Veronica!
A clear image of Veronica began to form in Angieâs hand. The Image showed Veronica curled up in a fetal position wrapped around black thorn like vines. Her legs and part of her torso fazed in and out, like smoke dissipating and reforming; as her face continued to break and crack into random black pieces only to quickly crash back into place.
Damien: What the hell is happening to her
Angie: Thereâs no human word to describe it honestly.. Her energy is basically confused, searching, disappearing, connecting, breaking and stopping all at once.
Angie: This is what Purgatory is for her.
Damien: What.. what happened to her? How could she become like this..
Angie: Sadly thereâs no easy or short answer for this
Angie: But there is a way for you to understand *places both of her hands on Damienâs head*
*Both Angie and Damien Vanish into and old apartment*
Damien: *standing up fully* this?... isnât this my old apartmentÂ
Angie: Yes, Yes it is. Back when you were 26 and still with LexisÂ
Angie: *Opens a door* back when Veronica was only 5
a little girl is playing in her room. The room has dirty stained walls covered in Bratz posters a mix of celebrities and kid drawings. Her bed is neatly made with a small old tv across from it and one window next to the bed. The carpet sheâs sitting on is raggedy and hard with small stains randomly on them.
Damien: Oh my god... Veronica *tries to walk forward but is unable to*
Damien: What the hell is going on? Why canât i walk forward?Â
Angie: While inside this Memory Realm you cannot freely move. This isnât something she is controlling, we arenât even able to feel what she felt. Technically this isnât her Memory Realm, its more like re-watching time itself. We canât interact but we can view it and see what she saw.
Young Veronica: *playing with Barbie Dolls and singing to herself*
Damien: What point in time are we at exactly? Â
Angie: The day she began to realize her life and the world around her...
???: *slams door* Fuck you! This isnât the life i wanted, this isnât the happiness i wanted!
???:  *opens door and stomps after ???* Not the life you wanted? This is what you chose! From me, to your job, to living here and having a daughter. These were all your choices!
Young Veronica: *peeks her head outside into the hallway and watches*
Past Damien: Regardless of everything youâre saying, iâm not happy period! No more no less!
Past Damien: And if iâm not happy then i donât need to be here.
Lexis: So youâre just going to leave!? What about me and your daughter!
Past Damien: What about you two? One is a mistake and the other is a responsibility that i never wanted! But to be honest those could fit both of you at this point.
Lexis: You Piece of shit!! *begins to flare her arms, hits Damien in random places*
Past Damien: STOP! Iâm not playing with you!!
Lexis: *Continues to swing* Fuck you Damien! Youâre no better than your father!!
Past Damien: I said STOP! *pushes Lexis hard*
Lexis: *stumbles back tripping over a chair and bangs her head against the edge of a kitchen counter*
Young Lexis: *makes a small gasp while covering her mouth*
Past Damien: Lexis.... Lexis.
Lexis laid on the floor almost lifeless as a small amount of blood began to run down her neck
Past Damien: Shit... *quickly grabs his keys and runs out the room*
Young Veronica: *walking slowly towards her mom* mom..
Young Veronica: *tries to lift her mom up by lifting up her head as blood runs down her hand* mommy?....
Angie: The day that changed her forever.. The day you left...
A Coon In A Colorful Heaven: Chapter 5.5 - Claudiaâs Story
Coon- Â A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
        -Inside Claudiaâs Memory Realm-
Damien: This... This is insane... How...Â
Claudia: One of the many things we are able to do in Heaven is relive our owns lives or memories, and share them with others.
Claudia: It is the purest way to truly understand someoneâs life without a word being said
Damien:Â *kneels and touches a piece of grass* it feels real... from the grass on the ground to the heat beaming on my head.. This shouldnât be possible
Claudia: You would think that by now that thought of something being impossible would have left your head by now..
Claudia: Stand up now.. You must look and pay attention
*Claudia Raises her hand and everything in front of Damien and Claudia begin to twist and spin, almost as if she is bending time and space itself*
Damien: *falling backwards, staring wildly* what the hell are you doing!!!
Claudia: As much as i would love to have you see every detail of 30 year story.. you honestly donât have the timeÂ
Damien: What do you mea- *Looks at his leg and realizes that the deterioration has reached his knee*
Damien: JESUS!!
Claudia: Donât worry if what we have been told is true... you seeing this will at the very least slow it down.
Damien: Slow it down!? i need it to stop!!
Claudia: Well Damien... Those that belong in Heaven, Stay in Heaven. Your deterioration is completely determined on you and whether you believe you belong here..
Damien: What!? of course i think i belong!... i think..
Claudia: Hush now and look *slowly puts her hand down*
Damien: Where are we now...*stands up slowly*
Damien and Claudia are still standing within the forest, but everything in front of them has changed. The sun is now down, the air has become colder and they are now standing a few feet away from an old shack like house.
Claudia: This is my home. it is were i slept, ate and learned *waves her hand in front of one of the walls; Showing a family inside*
Claudia: This is my family. My father, Mother, Younger Brother and Me.
*Claudia raises her hands again, changing the area to the morning field*
Claudia: As you know, being a slave came with nothing but hard work and hardships. The Johnson Family owned us alongside hundreds of others.
Damien: Wait, Johnson? A lot of my cousins have that same last name..
Claudia: Yes a lot of our family did have that last name. Where do you think slaves got their last names from?
Claudia: Some slaves received their last names as a way to be identified like property, and some took those names once they were freed..
Claudia: Itâs almost amazing to think that some people walk around with a slave owner branding and donât even know it.
Damien: ... wow
Claudia: Yes, the ripple affects of our decisions go deeper than most people realize... as you will soon see
*Claudia raises her hand, speeding Damien and Her through the field*
Claudia: Most of everyone work in the fields. Older women handled the food and servants alongside younger kids
*Claudia stops them in front of a house*
Claudia: This is where i mostly worked as a child and even when i got older
Claudia: The Father of this family favored me the most out of the rest especially as i got older..
*Claudia takes Her and Damien back to the shack*
Damien: Why are we back here?
Claudia: Weâre now 10 years into the future from when we started. At this time i was 14... The first time i was summoned for Mr. Johnson..
Damien: Summoned?
On Cue three white men came busting into their shack, grabbing Claudia and dragging her away back to the main house. As much as Claudiaâs Father and Mother wanted to fight for their daughter; They knew that things would only get worse if they tried to stop them.
Claudia: This was the first night of many where i saw the true potential of how evil mankind could be...
Claudia: This was the night i lost my innocents and what ever little peace i had..
Claudia and Damien watch as the men stripped and tied her down to a bed.Â
Damien: I canât watch this *closes his eyes and looks away*
Claudia: Nor would i want you to, but you will understand the fear i felt *grabs Damienâs hand*
Damien: *TAKES A DEEP GASP*
Within that instant Damien felt the exact feelings Claudia felt that night. Fear, Confusion, Sorrow, Helpless, Desecration, and Emptiness. All these feelings poured into Damien like a waterfall crashing into a tea cup
Damien: *falls to his knees, gripping his chest with his other hand, unable to breath*
Claudia: This is the very feeling that many of us women have felt. To feel powerless, to feel weak, but worse to feel that you have no control over your life... and that this is how the world, is simply because of how often it happens.
Claudia: Sadly even as time has passed many women of different ages still feel this very same fear and hopelessness; in a world where the perpetrators are defended and in some cases the oneâs in charge.
Damien: This... this is unbearable..*tears begin to run down his face*
Claudia: And yet we bear it... we have to..
Claudia: We struggle, We suffer, But we continue to push on day by day. Clinging to the hope that things will get better. Or tricking ourselves into thinking that this is normal and ok..
Claudia: Regardless we try to bury these feelings and fears so deep and try to lock it away.. hoping that it will all go away.. But it doesnât.. It either comes out in a burst of rage or sadness or we slowly release it through our actions
Claudia: Regardless no one could ever run away from these experiences, especially when there is no where on that planet to truly escape from it. Traumas and attacks like these can happen from family, friends, and strangers. No matter the place or Time. It is a fear that all women have everyday when surviving in this world plus everything else included.   Â
Damien: *grips his chest harder while facing the ground as tears fall from his face* How could you possibly.... how could anyone live like this...
Claudia: To be honest i donât know.. some of us donât.. it takes a lot of will... it takes a lot of strength.. some of us choose to not live in a world like this.. but could you you really blame them for not wanting to?
Damien: *Begins to cry and scream loudly in pain*
The feelings Damien felt were completely foreign to him. Throughout his life he never had to experience despair or sorrow. He was always able to avoid them.. run from them. Never having to deal with most of the consequences of his actions nor did he ever allow himself the time to actually understand them. He was ignorant. Ignorant to so much.. But in this instance he truly began to feel only a glimpse of what the real world was..
Damien: *in a slight and low whimper while looking at the ground* ..mommy..
Claudia: *looking down at Damien* i think this is enough for now *closes her eyes*
*in an instant Claudia and Damien return back to the club almost as if no time has passed*
Damien: *Takes a deep gasp with his eyes wide open and tears running down his face*
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Well well well welcome back
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *Looking at Claudia* What all did you show him?
Claudia: Not much honestly.. I showed him and made him feel everything i felt the first night that i was summoned by Mr. Johnson
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Thatâs it? Why didnât you show him your kids or what happened to your parent?
Claudia: Look at him Julian.. Itâs almost as if this is his first time ever dealing with emotions and feelings like this. Anymore and i probably would have broken him...
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â So strange.. Either Pam did one hell of a job guarding this boy or he truly had a talent for escaping karma before it got to him
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Regardless one thing for sure is that he definitely isnât ready to see what happened to Veronica.. or even Lexis for that matter..
Uncle Craig: So what are we going to do with this fool. He too sensitive to see the truth and too ignorant to understand it.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Well hold on now Craig, heâs not completely lost yet... we still have time..
THE END OF CHAPTER 5.5
Writers Notes: Sorry that i made this into a filler of sorts. The first Draft i made for this was actually suppose to be part of chapter 5 but it made it too long. But when i went to write  this as chapter 6, my computer froze and i lost most of my progress. So after i got over my discouragement i basically tried to re-write everything the best i could but i also didnât really have the energy too. So Thursday i will be making Chapter 6 fully so you guys basically get 4 chapters this week.
p.s i technically uploaded a chapter today sooo i didnât break the deal yet đŹđđž
A Coon In A Colorful Heaven: Chapter 5- âItâs All Pink on the Inside..â
Coon- Â A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
This chapter continues to follow the eternal story of a man named Damien. When we last saw Damien he was taken to his familyâs club by Angie. Once there he was greeted by his Uncle Craig who took him to see his Great Great Grandmother Lisa. Surprisingly enough she was one of the very few actually happy to see Damien. But as they began to speak, Damien started to explain his views on women and his preference; which started an argument about colorism and the struggles black women face. But before the conversation could be finished they noticed and were informed by Angie about Damienâs Soul Confliction. With little to no hesitation âGGâ Grandma Lisa figured out the perfect way to educate Damien on colorism...Was by meeting his Great Great Grandfather Julian.
      -inside of Damienâs Family Club-
Damien: Great Great Grandfather Julian??
Damien: Why havenât i heard of that name before?
Uncle Richard: Because he was never worth mentioning, hell we barely knew about him ourselves when we were alive.
Damien: Huh?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *looks down* Listen Damien thereâs a lot about this family that you never knew about. But to be honest how could you have?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â *looks back up at the crowd of people* Our Family did a terrible job at trying to keep our family history and connection together...
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â So many stories... so many faces... I have been in Heaven for more than a century in your time and i still discover something new about this family almost everyday.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â *walks around the room* So much Pain and Love. Hatred and Compassion. Fear and Understanding. Destruction and Creativity. and Secrets... So many secrets
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â *looks back at Damien* In due time you will see for yourself what i mean, I promise you that. But first we need to deal with your little Soul Confliction issue
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Speaking of which, perfect timing.
Aunt Tanya: You know... That beam is damn near instantaneous and i swear it felt like we were in there for hours. He just keeps talking.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Girl hush, i made that ride entertaining!!
Aunt Tanya: More like annoying...Â
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:Â *Walks towards Julian with open arms and a smile* Hi Julian
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Oh my God Lisa *Hugs Lisa* *holds Lisa waist while staring into her eyes* Every time i see you itâs like it for the first time all over again
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Oh Julian..
Uncle Craig: Oh God
Aunt Tanya: You know for a couple thatâs separated, yâall sure donât act like it
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Heaven is place of forgiveness Tanya, you know that. I have no hate in my heart for this man, thereâs no point in it.
Aunt Tanya: I can think of few but those would all be considered âPreferencesâÂ
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Now Tanya i know you was slow in the head but i would think that me admitting 100 times that i was wrong would eventually stick in your brain  Â
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Â I thought something would finally stick in you
Aunt Tanya: You son of a-
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: ENOUGH!! from the both of you. Acting like damn fools for no reason
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Apologize both of you
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Now why i gotta apologize she the one that started-
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *grips Julianâs hand hard* I said apologizeÂ
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â I deeply and sincerely apologize Tanya, i was way out of line
Aunt Tanya: Mhmm iâm sorry too
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Good. now you two can fight it out some other time, but right now we need to help my Grand Baby fix his Soul Confliction
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Right right, Tanya said thatâs why ya needed me. So where lil man at *looks around the room*
Damien: *stands up sticking his hand out* You mean grown man Grandpa
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Well right you are *shakes Damienâs hand* good to see ya boy, good to see ya!
Damien: *smirks* Good to see you too Grandpa
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Boy did anyone every tell you, that you look just like your Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great x53 Grandfather Musa Keita??
Damien: Ummm.. no
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Boy you gotta sit down and meet that man one day. He was doin his thang in the b.c time, boy you wouldnât believe!
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Listen here man we come from Kings! you hear me, real Kings!
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now Julian iâm sure Damien would love to meet and hear all about our history but we have more *cough cough* pressing issues to go over..
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Right Right my bad. So what seems to be the problem *grabs a chair and sits in front of Damien*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Well our Grandson here seems to think that Light Skin women are better than Dark Skin women
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Ok ok....... see now i said whatâs the problem, this right here just sounds like a preference
Aunt Tanya: Here we go
Uncle Richard: Is everything always a joke to you Julian?
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Boy the only joke here is you. You the only negro i know that still needs glasses in Heaven.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â Heaven can fix and heal everything, and i mean EEEVRRRYYTHING..... but 20/70 vision. Ainât that bouta bitch.
Uncle Craig: Should I throw him out now or after the ass kicking?
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Now donât you touch me Craig!! *stands up*
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Last time you touched me, i had to soak in a realm made of lotion for weeks just to get your ash off of me
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Julian.. Â
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Now Lisa you know im just messing around with everyone. Everyone is so uptight today.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: For a very good reason
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: You right, Youâre absolutely right.. I apologize
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Ok lemme start this over
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: *grabs Damien by the collar* Aye little nigga whats wrong with you and not liking Dark Skin Women!? Ainât Ya Momma as black as November 23rd!!
Damien: *in shock* what the hell!
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: JULIAN!!
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: What?... This is what i did last time..
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Can you take it down a few notches and act like this is your Grandson and not some random thug thatâs trying to fight you..
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: *sigh* ok my bad, my bad
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: *fixes Damienâs shirt* sorry about that man *sits back down*
Damien: *catching his breath* what the hell is wrong with this family!
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: A lot more than we have the time to discussion right now. So can you please sit
Damien: *Takes a deep breath* whatever man *sits back down*
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Alright look man, that whole light skin is a preference and all that nonsense is some bull shit.
Damien: Once again how can you or anyone tell me what like is wrong, I was never attracted to dark skin tones, thatâs just who i am
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Boy ainât nobody born hating or disliking an entire color. That shit ainât genetic, as you can see you come from some dark moutherfukas and we love ALL shades of chocolate *stretches his arms out*
The Crowd of Family: Amen to that! I know thatâs Right! You ainât neva lied!
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: See
Damien: I get thatâs how yâall are, but thatâs not me. Why canât yâall accept that iâm different.
Damien: Im not saying that i hate Dark Skin women or anything like that. I just choose to not be around them, theyâre a mess for the most part.
The Crowd of Family: *gasp*. No this nigga didnât...
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Now Now everyone letâs relax. Before we jump in his ass lets see where heâs coming from. Go ahead and explain yourself
Damien: Ok look, all my life i have seen nothing but ratchetness and ghetto shit from Dark Skin women.
Damien: From Tv, Movies and my encounters with them, theyâre always loud, obnoxious, always ready to fight someone, always wearing weaves and wigs, always trying to live off someone else and just all around one note.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Now i have heard some shit in my day, but boy i have never heard someone so passionately explain theyâre ideology based around assumptions, one sided opinions and shit they saw on tv..
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Oh wait yes i have.. From racist white men and women that never had a conversation nor would even want to with a black man or woman.
Damien: Huh?
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Boy, do you know that what you just said is eerily similar to what white people have said about black folks for years?
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: â theyâre always loud, obnoxious, always ready to fight someone, Violent, Always dependent on welfare, uncivilized, thugsâ etc etc or as you say âone noteâ
Damien: Yea but thatâs just white people being racist
âGGâ Grandfather Julian: Negro where do you think colorism started!
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â For hundreds of years your great female ancestors were raped and used as cattle, play things and servants. Then once these women had these kids that came out lighter then them, not only were they separated from their kids but they were also told to treat them as superior.
âGGâ Grandfather Julian:Â That was one of their greatest schemes to slowly break us apart. Treating some of our own blood as superiors or servants so that those kids would eventually see Darker skin as beneath them. It was a way for white people to make them seem even more powerful just because of their skin; while also creating a form of control that made their job easier.
Damien: This all sounds like some white man conspiracy bull shit.
???: Iâm afraid itâs not *walks trough the crowd and stands next to Julian*
Damien:Â Who are you?
???: Hello my name is Claudia one of your great cousins. I was born a slave in 1720..and i think my story could help shed some truth on what Julian is saying.
Damien: What, youâre going to tell me more stories? Listen Claudia, no disrespect but i donât have the time for any long winded storytellingÂ
Claudia: Oh i wonât be telling the story, I will show you it..
Damien: What are you talkin-
*Claudia places both of her hands on Damienâs head, taking both of them to huge forest*
Damien: *in shock* what the... where the hell are we
Claudia: Weâre in my Memory Realm.
Claudia: In this realm i will show you a brief glimpse of my life and the story i wish to show youÂ
Damien: What are you talking about?
Claudia: *sticks her hand out pointing in a direction*
Damien: *confusedly walks to where Claudia is pointing*
*After pushing his way through a huge bush, Damien looks on in shack and awe*
Damien: *takes a deep gasp* where... where are we exactly
Claudia: Weâre in the 1720â˛s, in Alabama on the plantation i was born
Claudia: Welcome to my Life and now see my Story..

A Coon In A Colorful Heaven: Chapter 4-Â âItâs a Family Reunionâ
Coon- Â A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
This chapter continues to follow the eternal story of a man named Damien. Previously we had saw Damien walking with his Grandson Chris, as they briefly explored their family zone. Once they arrived within a park and sat down, Chris began to explain to the impact Damien had on his motherâs terrible mental health. They began to discuss colorism and how those influences warped her mid and made her start to hate her own self-image. But before Chris could âshowâ Damien everything that happen to his mother, Angie came and took Damien to his familyâs club fearing that whatever Chris was going to show him would âbreakâ him. Now Damien is being brought to his Great Great Grandma Lisa where he will get the answer's he may not want but needs...
*Uncle Craig carrying Damien through a crowd of dancing people while âFrankie Beverly- Before i let goâ plays loudly*
Damien: This... this is wild
Uncle Craig: What you said nephew!?
Damien: I SAID THIS IS WILD!
Uncle Craig: Oh, nah its not wild itâs just ya family!
As Damien is being carried through the crowd of people he saw so many familiar faces. Men and Women, Young and Old, faces that he had only seen in old photos passed down or faces that he saw at ever BBQ when he was younger. The sight of everyone dancing and singing brought an unimaginable amount of joy to Damien that he had never felt before.
*Uncle Craig carries Damien up a flight of stairs to a balcony that over looks the dance floor*
Damien: *looking around* how huge is this place?
Uncle Craig: How high is the sky? ah-hahahey *puts Damien on his feet*
Damien: I see that inhumanly strength and iconic laugh hasnât changed huh?
Uncle Craig: And i see youâve somehow smooth talked your way into Heaven huh?
Damien: Smooth talk? I gave a blood don- ugh i mean im having a soul confliction thing
Uncle Craig: Ha! You? A Soul Confliction?
Uncle Craig: The only confliction youâve had nephew is trying to decided if White Women are better than Light Skin Women
Damien: Thatâs not funny..
Uncle Craig: Damn right it isnât! but back on earth it seem that everything was a joke to you
???: *walking in the room behind Uncle Craig* Now now Craig you leave my baby alone now Â
Uncle Craig: *turns around* oh hey Lisa
Great Great Grandma Lisa: *steps on Uncle Craig's toes* Thatâs Great Grandma to you, act like you got some sense boy
Uncle Craig: ow, yes maâam
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: And as for you Damien *stares directly at him*
Damien: yes maâam.. *tenses up*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Come give yo grandma a hug!!! *runs over to him, hugging him and lifting him up*
Damien: Woah! youâre strong grandma..
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Well of course i am! you come from a long bloodline of strong black women, what would you expect? *puts Damien down*
Damien: I donât know, maybe another hit or something...
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *giggles* i heard about your run in with your Aunt Pam.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: That girl is always so feisty and fierce, but her heart is as pure as gold. Yaâknow she watched over you right?
Damien: Yea.. *looks down in shame*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Â Now now no need to get all gloomy *lifts Damienâs head up and grabs his hands* Come on, have a seat
*Damien and Lisa sit on a big plush couch while Uncle Craig sits in a chair across from them*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now tell me something Damien. How are you liking Heaven so far
Damien: Omg itâs so beautiful, so perfect. Itâs like im never really just seeing something but instead iâm always feeling it.. if that makes sense?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Sweet heart that makes perfect sense. Just like this club me and your great great grandfather made.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: We wanted this club to feel like pure fun, happiness and nostalgia. A place that would always remind us of the best and most energetic  times of our lives.
Damien: i say you nailed that perfectly *looks over the balcony and looks at everyone dancing*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Thanks baby, *looks over the balcony* itâs always heart warming to see all our people together.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Dancing, Singing, Laughing, just having a good ol time. All shades of black beauty under one roof.
Damien: Yea they really are beautiful.
Uncle Craig: You mean the light skin oneâs right?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Craig!
Uncle Craig: Hey i ainât said nothing crazy, we all saw this niggaâs tweets
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now you hush up! Iâm sure my grandbaby can explain with a very logical and understanding reason as to why he said those things
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Ainât that right baby
Damien: Umm.. yea sure i guess
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: See! Now go ahead and tell us why you over glorified light skin women for so long.
Damien: I donât know.. it was just my preference.
Uncle Craig:
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Umm.. what.. what do you mean by preference
Damien: I mean like.. i just preferred them better because i think they are better..
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: âthink they are betterâ?
Uncle Craig: ooo *stands up and looks over the balcony* AYE TANYA AND RICHARD!! Get up here and see this mess! Grandma Lisa about to air this boy ouuuutt!!! Â
Damien: Aunt Tanya and Uncle Richard are here!?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now now donât worry about that look at me. Now explain to me what you mean by âyou think they are betterâ
*Aunt Tanya and Uncle Richard rush up to the balcony*
Uncle Richard: Dam did we miss anything
Uncle Craig: *shakes Uncle Richards hand* Nah man, shit just now getting good
Damien: Oh my God! Hey Aunt Tanya and Uncle Richard!
Aunt Tanya: Unh-uh donât hey me. You lucky Pam got to you first or might still have my foot in yo ass
Uncle Richard: I concur nephew, what you did to Lexis and Veronica was way past unacceptable
Damien: Look, what happened between me and Lexis-
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *Grabs Damienâs hand and tightly squeezes* Damien baby ima ask you one more time *fiercely stares into Damiens eyes*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: What. Do You. Mean. By They Are Better...
Uncle Richard: Nephew you better answer the question before she throw you over this balcony and literally break yo spirit
Damien: I mean like... they just seem better.. Like their hair, eyes, skin and stuff like that
Damien: I just never saw Darker Shades as attractive or appealing
Grandma Lisa and Aunt Tanya: APPEALING!?
Uncle Richard: Hold on now nephew. You saying all shades? Like Dark Chocolate? Chocolate Chocolate? Milk Chocolate? Coffee Brown? Cinnamon Brown? Come on gotta at least love Chestnut Brown!
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Sweet Heart... Now you know that youâre preference thing is based around racism right?...
Damien: What!? Here we go with that. Not seeing someone as attractive because of my preference isnât racist!
Aunt Tanya: Well your preference is based strictly off the color of their skin so what the hell else is it?
Damien: Look ok.. itâs not just the color of skin or hair
Damien: Like dark skin women were always more aggressive and harsh. Like to be with one you had to be... like-
Aunt Tanya: Strong?
Uncle Richard: Smart?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Not judgmental from the stuff you saw on tv?
Uncle Craig: Not a Coon.
Aunt Tanya: I second that last one *gives Uncle Craig a High Five*
Damien: No no.. ok hereâs a question
Damien: Why would a dark skin girl from the block be so aggressive for no reason
Aunt Tanya: News Flash, dark skin girls have been getting treated like shit for hundreds of years.
Aunt Tanya: Dealing with Sexual Assault, Misogyny, Husbands being killed locked up or running off leaving us as single parents, Media panting us as overbearing and ghetto, Not getting proper medical or mental treatment, Being Oversexualized, dealing with abuse from our own men and if we speak up we get no justice or worse we get killed.
Aunt Tanya: Deal with that shit for generation after generation, day after day and see if you donât become a lil more aggressive Â
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: What Tanya listed was a lot, but each of those go into an even bigger mess that would take years to go completely over thatâs STILL happening on earth now.
Damien: Look i get it. Dark Skin women have been through alot but the men go trough the same stuff *looks over to Uncle Craig and Uncle Richard* Right?
Uncle Richard: No.. Not at all nephew
Uncle Craig: Now are we sure this nigga isnât adopted cause he canât be part of our bloodline talking like that
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now you hush Craig, this boy is one of us and he is gonna learn about the error of his ways with the help of his FAMILY
Aunt Tanya: Well Grandma you might wanna hurry that up because from the looks of things, he donât got much time at all
Uncle Craig: Yea look at his foot. The boy is Soul Conflicted.
âGGâ Grandma Lisa:
Angie: *Walking in the room* Yea thatâs why i brought him here
Aunt Tanya: The Hell? Why is an Angel in here?
Uncle Craig: And why does she look like *stares*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *stands up and walks closer to Angie* Oh my goodness.. She looks like Veronica and Damienâs Mother combined...
Uncle Craig: Yea.. but LIght Skin?...
Uncle Richard: Dam this negro really think only light is only right.. ainât that some shit
Angie: Yea as you can see thatâs a serious problem..
Angie: See.. Damien doesnât truly know that what he thinks is wrong, he truly believes it. So in turn he believes that how he treated Veronica and Lexis wasnât bad
Uncle Craig: Shiiiit why didnât he just see Chris. Iâm pretty sure his story alone would have convinced him.
Angie: No ironically. Chris was going to actually âshowâ Damien what happen to him and Veronica. If Damien truly believeâs that what he did wasnât wrong..
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Then seeing how Veronica turned out would have made the conflictions worse and broke him since it would be too much to handle at once plus him truly not understanding what went wrong..
Angie: Exactly.. so you guys see how sensitive this situation is.
Aunt Tanya: Well how are we suppose to convince coon-ye over here that heâs wrong and always has been?
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Hmm... I have an idea.. *walks over to the edge of the balcony*
Damien: Would someone please explain what the hell is-
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: CUT THE MUSIC!!!!
*All the Music stops and everyone looks up and Lisa*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now youâre coming with me *looks at Damien*
Damien: Coming wher-
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *picks Damien up, puts him in a single chair, lifting the chair with him on it; jumps off the balcony, and slowly floats to the middle of the dance floor*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Now listen up everyone!! My GrandBaby over here is having a Soul Confliction. And itâs up to us to help resolve that confliction
Random Person in The Crowd: Whatâs the confliction over
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *takes a deep breath* Colorism and Racism.
*Everyone in The Crowd Gasps*
Random Person in The Crowd: Â Good Lord....
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Yea Yea i know. But this boy here is family and by God we are going to help him like one!
Damien: WILL SOMEONE JUST TELL ME WHATâS GOING ON!
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: *looks at Tanya* Go get Julian
Aunt Tanya: Yes maâam *a Bright Light crashes down taking her away*
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Whatâs happening Damien is that youâre about to get educated on colorism from the biggest colorist i know
âGGâ Grandma Lisa: Your Great Great Grand Father.
A Coon In A Colorful Heaven: Chapter 3- âSo Where Should We Begin?â
Coon-Â A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
This chapter continues to follow the eternal story of a man named Damien. When we last saw Damien he had finally arrived into Heaven after mysteriously being let through by his personal Angel âAngieâ. But not long after arriving to Heaven, Damien soon discovered that the pain and damage that he caused as a Mortal still continues to follow him as a Spirit. After having a small altercation with his Aunt Pam, Damien began to wonder if being in Heaven would truly be paradise for him; But within that same instance he realized that he was starting to deteriorate just like his âjudgment roomâ began to when he was being Judged. Now his only chance of staying in Heaven will comes from the assistance of his Grandson Chris...
Damien: *staring in shock* My.. Grandson?... Veronica had a child
Chris: Yaâknow even though i already knew you didnât know this.. Hearing you so surprised really shows how disconnected you two were..
Chris: Well are you gonna let me help you up or would you rather lay here until you disappear?
Damien: *grabbing Chris's hand* sorry im just a little shocked is all... I never knew..
Chris: *pulling Damien up* Well how could you have known? Leaving your wife and child behind will do that
Damien:Â *staring down at the ground in shame*...
Chris: Come on, iâll take you some place we can talk quietly
*Damien and Chris begin to walk down their street*
Damien: *looking around* Our zone really is beautiful.. it feels like iâm back in Philly but nothing looks like Philly
Chris: Yea i know what you mean. Our zone was created a few hundred years ago by one of our elders.
Chris: Since then hundreds of our family bloodline began to add and change it more and more. From adding new structures, to changing how the air feels
Chris: But what amazes me most is that no matter what changes, everything still feels perfect.
Damien: *sees little kids flying thought the sky* yea.. i think i get what you mean
Damienâs Family Zone was like no other.Their Zone had a very odd mix of typical city blocks mixed with rural areas. The buildings themselves had their own unique feel and shape. Some stretched almost endlessly into the sky while most stood only few feet high. Some were made out of brick and wood, while others were floating in the sky made up of soft fabrics. People flying and walking, kids playing and running, Men and Women dancing and talking with soulful music playing in the background. The Zone itself just felt like a relaxing Fall afternoon mixed with a chill breeze carrying a very slight scent of Vanilla and Honey.
Damien: This place.. this realm.. itâs like i have so many questions about it but it truly feels like thereâs no point in asking anything about it.. like thereâs no reason at all..
Chris: Oh trust me youâll definitely have an almost endless amount of questions. But i honestly think that the most beautiful part about Heaven is that i can take my time to understand every detail if i wanted to, and still discover something new or create something new. And whatever matters or doesnât is truly up to me
Chris: I can ask questions or i can just enjoy not knowing which is something that isnât punishing here.
*Chris and Damien walk into a park, where they both sit on a old Wood Park bench*
Chris: So before we began, do you have any questions for me?
Damien: Honestly i donât know where to begin..
Damien:Â Â Like i have so many questions like; How were you in Heaven before me? Whereâs Veronica and Lexis, and whatâs happening to me?
Chris: Ha, youâre really do have some heavy questions.. But for no lets stick to the oneâs that will help you the most before you disappearÂ
Chris: First off what youâre going though is basically called a Soul Confliction
Damien: Soul Confliction..
Chris: Yea basically your soul canât decide on whether it should be here or not.
Chris: Judgement isnât done God or Peter itâs done by you yourself. You truly know if what youâve done in your life is wrong or not, which is why the judgment room prevents you from being able to lie
Chris: Deep in our hearts we know our truths and what we did. The people that can truly accept their failings and are able to learn and change from them can make it into Heaven. But those that refuse to believe what they did was wrong and basically rebuke whatâs going on, goes to Hell.
Damien: So basically iâm in the middle..
Chris: Bingo, Itâs not uncommon tho. I say for every 1 million souls a few thousand are Conflicted. Whatâs alarming to many is that the number of conflicted are being to rise more and more.
Chris: But thatâs a whole nother fiasco
Damien: Well what is it that i need to do to get rid of my conflictions..
Chris: That leads into what happen to mom which leads into what happened to me..
Chris: See.. whether you know it or not you hurt mom to a point of almost no return.
Damien: Bullshit! i never once hurt Veronica. I gave her the world when i was around. From toys to great schooling, there was nothing that she ever needed that i couldnât provide.
Chris: And yet somehow she had a terrible life where she hated herself, her mother and never felt that she could be the perfect girl that you wanted her to be, which cemented multiple personality and mental disorders for her.
Damien:Â
Chris: Yea, excellent parentingÂ
Damien: Look, how was i suppose to know of anything like that would happen to her. Any problems that happened between me and Lexis stayed between us.
Damien: I never took out my anger or frustration on Veronica
Chris: Do you honestly think that because you didnât yell or hit her, that she wasnât severely affected by your actions.
Chris: Itâs not about what you did say to her, itâs what you didnât. Itâs not about the amount of money you spent on her, itâs about what you bought. And itâs not about the problems you had with grandma, itâs about how you handled them.
Chris: Every careless and thoughtless action you made she saw and she made her own reasoning's for them.Â
Damien: Like what!? what did or didnât I do that affected her so much?
Chris: Your input on her self worth
Damien: Now this is definite bullshit. I always called her beautiful and brought her tons of dresses that she wanted!
Chris: You do know there is a difference between calling someone beautiful and actually treating and showing them that they are.
Damien: What are you talking about?
Chris: Letâs start off small. What kind of toys do you remember buying her and what affect do you think they had?
Damien: I donât know.. shit like barbies and dolls similar to them.
Chris: Right, you gave a dark skin girl a bunch of toys and dolls that looked nothing like her nor were there any positive representation of women like her besides her mother.
Chris: But thanks to you her she never looked at her mother in a positive light nor did she want to be like her
Damien: Ugh, please donât turn this into a white vs black bs. I heard enough of that bs before i died and i rather not hear more while iâm dead.
Chris: This isnât about white vs black you idiot, this about the start of a girl looking in the mirror and hating what she sees
Chris: You take a black girl and put her with a family where the father hates her mother and doesnât talk or spend loving time with the daughter; and surround her around a bunch of examples of what being beautiful and perfect is but none of them look like her. What do you think will happen?
Damien: But what youâre talking about are dolls. Theyâre just toys!
Chris: Toys that she spent more time with than her own father
Damien: ...
Chris: Yes the toys played a small role in the grand scheme of things. But most big problems are complied of small things like it. But as youâll see, Mom had bigger problems than you know
Damien: What do you mean iâll see..
*Chris goes to put his hands on Damienâs head, But is interrupted by Angie*
Angie: Sorry to intervene but i canât let you take him there.
Angie: I get what youâre trying to do but youâll only cause more damage than good!..
Chris: *staring at Angie shocked and confused* what do you mean iâll do more damage than good and why do you look like-
*A Bright Light crashes down on Angie and Damien taking them away*
Chris: What the hell!
Chris: Will seeing what happened to Veronica really break him as he is?
*A Bright Light crashes down leaving behind Angie and Damien in a new location in front of a huge club with blasting music*
Damien: What the hell Angie!? why did you take me away from Chris?
Angie: Listen that kid was going to take you someplace that i donât think youâre ready to see yet. And since you only have one shot at this i rather take things a little slow to make sure you wonât get broken.
Damien:Â What do you mean broken? and where are we?
Angie: How about you find out *pushes Damien through the doors*
*Damien stumbles into the building, tripping over a bottle and falling forward*
Damien: *falls on his chest* oof! *slowing picking himself up* Someone needs to explain why pain is still relevant here..
???: Nephew you got alot more stuff to learn before we get to that
Damien: Huh? *looking up*
Damien: UNCLE CRAIG!
Uncle Craig: So we meet again nephew, perfect timing too *grabs Damien by the back of his collar lifting him up in the air*
*Uncle Craig carries Damien into the main floor filled with people dancing and drinking, while âFrankie Beverly- Before i let goâ plays loudly*
Uncle Craig: AYE LISA!! I DONE FOUND YA COON AS GRANDSON AH-HAHAHEY!
Lisa: *Stands up waving her arms* Whaaaat! Bring My GrandBaby over here!!
Damien:Â Grandma Lisa!? Great Great Grandma Lisa!? Why does she look so young.. and fine!?
Uncle Craig: Donât be weird nephew thatâs ya grandma. You can take that freaky talk to those weird white country zones i hear about
A Coon In A Colorful Heaven- Â Chapter 2: âForever is a Mighty Long Time...â
Coon- A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred  Â
This chapter continues to follow the eternal story of a man named Damien. When we last saw Damien he had awoken in his own Hell awaiting Judgment. Damien was being judged by his own personal Angel named âAngieâ, as she read off a list of his sins that were condemning him to hell; in hopes of having him understand and accept his fate. But during Damienâs judgement Angie saw something âinterestingâ  withing his conflictions. Was it Hope? Confusions? Or maybe she Pitied the poor soul? Regardless of what Angie saw, Damien would soon come to realize that even in Heaven you can still create your own Hell; and that spirits that belong in Heaven, Stay in Heaven...
*A Bright Light Crashed down, dissipating leaving Damien laying on his back*
Damien: *sitting up, rubbing his head* ow that...hurt?
Damien: You can still feel pain in Heaven? I thought in Heaven you couldnât feel anything ba- *deep gasp*
As Damien looked up he had saw a Realm that many had and still Dream of, yet all are completely wrong. Heaven.. a Realm made of pure imagination. Shapes and Buildings. Clouds and Water. Animals and Tress. Some Buildings that look old and familiar. Some buildings that look..Impossible. Colors of different shades and hues, but somehow all perfectly harmonized. People Flying through the sky and walking around. Some wearing familiar clothes, some wearing nothing at all..
Damien: *eyes start to water* This place is... this place is-
???: Paradise right?
Damien: *looking up* Angie!?
Angie: HolaÂ
Damien: *standing up* What are you doing here?? Are you like my Guardian Angel or something?
Angie: Oh no not at all! thatâs a whole nother headache that iâm no longer apart of.
Angie: Iâm just here as a guide of sorts
Damien: A guide?
Angie: Yep! as you can see Heaven is literally an endless place of space and possibilities. Souls are scattered all over the place
Angie: Some in places that are highly populated. Some in personal âZonesâ or areaâs unknown to everyone but them.
Angie: Heaven is a big place, so Angels like me are here to help you find what youâre looking for first, like families and friends or maybe help create your own zone.
*A few feet away from Angie and Damien, another soul crashes down and is greeted with a huge crowd of family and friends*
Damien: wow what a huge family.. why wasnât anyone waiting for me?
Angie: Ehh... letâs just say that you being here is a surprise,, a very uncommon one.
Damien: *takes a deep breath* wow.. really..
Angie: Yea.. but listen thatâs kind of why youâre here anyways. See the reason i-
Damien: Listen you donât have to explain... i think i get it.Â
Angie: Do you really?
Damien: Yea... iâm the first of my bloodline to make it into Heaven and itâs kinda big deal.
Angie:
Angie: Boy are you dumb or retarded!? Do you know how huge your bloodline is and continues to be!?!
Angie: And you think that out of the MILLIONS before you, that youâre the first to make it!?
Damien: I mean yea kinda..
Damien: Look im not dumb enough to think that my Ancestors in the B.C time didnât make it. But from what i can remember about most of my personal family.. most werenât great people and not enough donated blood to make it into Heaven like i did.
Angie: Youâre just so...
Angie: You know what. How about i just take you to their sector, so you can see for yourself. This was kinda the point in the first place.
Damien: We have our own sector??
Angie: Yup and theyâll be more than surprised to see you. Iâm very excited to see the upcoming results
Damien: Results? what are you-
*A Bright Light crashes down on Damien, Taking him up to his familyâs sector*
Angie: Now what will it be Damien, Peace or Silence?...
*A Bright Light crashes down leaving Damien on his feet*
Damien: -doing here?..
Damien: Angie? *looking left and right* Angie!?
A Young Girl Walking in a distance: I recognize that voice.. i know... i know they didnât
Damien: *looks and sees the young girl* Hey excuse me can you help me out!?
The Young Girl in the Distance: OOOO! Pam and Craig are gonna flip on this one *A Bright Light crashes down taking her away*
Damien: What in the hell was that about?..
Damien: *walking around* wooow, this place is beautiful
Damien: I canât believe my bloodline has its own sector. Everything looks different but at the same time familiar.. and thereâs so many people here.
Damien: *looks around* aye, aye! Aunt Veronica, Aye itâs me
Aunt Veronica: *Flying by*
Damien: Dam... maybe she didnât hear me.. she was pretty high up..
Damien: If sheâs here i wonder who else is.. *walking around* this place is really beautiful
Damien: omg is that... AYE, AYE! Uncle Lennard, AYE its me man!
Uncle Lennard: *sitting on a bench* aw hell, they done let this negro in
Damien:Â *walks up* aye uncle, man im so glad to see you here
Uncle Lennard: hey Damien... so they let you in huh...
Damien: Yea man, but to be honest i barely got in. Shawty at the gate said that thanks to my blood donation i saved a few hundred people, so it kinda balanced out everything.
Uncle Lennard: well ainât that bout a bitch
Damien:Â Huh?
Uncle Lennard:Â nothin.. itâs nothin nephew.. *stands up* good to see ya.. *walks off*
Damien:Â Dam what was that about??
Damien:Â *walking around* i wonder what was up with Unc just now..
*An All White with Gold Trim Cadillac pulls up next to him*
Damien:Â *looks up* OMG!!! UNCLE CRAIG!!
Uncle Craig:Â *looks over* aww hell naw, no they didnât!
Damien:Â Uncle Craig its me. What up baby!
Uncle Craig:Â Yea i see you nigga, they just lettin anyone in now huh?
Damien:Â Whatchu mean?
Uncle Craig:Â Aye, All Lives Matter i guess huh
Damien: All lives matterâŚ. *Thinks*
Damien:Â *flashes back to him tweeting all lives matter against black protest*
Damien:Â *makes a deep gasp*
Uncle Craig:Â uh huh, you done fucked up big time nephew
Damien:Â look that was back in the past. i ainât-
Uncle Craig:Â and donât think we ainât see those post you made talking mess about dark skin women and what happened between you and Lexis
Damien:Â ooo wait till yo great ancestors see yo ass *skirrrts off*Â
Damien:
Damien: *panicking to himself* what the fuck! were they all watching me this whole timeâŚ
Damien:Â *his heart starts to pound fast* no way. no way. no fucking way
Damien: If Uncle Craig is here⌠then the chances of Aunt Pam being here is-
*A Bright Light crashes down leaving behind The Young Girl from before and Aunt Pam*
The Young Girl:Â Mmhmm there he is Aunt Pam *points at Damien*
Aunt Pam:Â You got alot of God damn nerve showing up here! *marches towards Damien*
Damien:Â Look Aunt Pam i-
Aunt Pam:
Damien:Â *stumbles back, holding his cheek in shock* that.. really hurt.. alot?Â
Aunt Pam:Â GOOD! it was suppose to and i got more where that comes from! *goes to throw a punch at Damien*
*A Young Man Grabs Pams arm and pulls her back*
Young Man:Â CHILL! This isnât worth anything!
Aunt Pam:Â *struggling and jerking around to get free* THE HELL IT IS!!
Aunt Pam:Â 15 years Damien! 15 years i watched over your trifling disrespectful ass going around hurting whoever and doing whatever you wanted hoping that youâd change one day
Aunt Pam:Â But after seeing what you did to your Wife and Daughter and the trauma you left behind damaging a whole generation to come. i refused to watch over you for a second more!!Â
Aunt Pam:Â LET GO OF ME GOD DAMMIT!
Young Man:Â *lets go of Pam*
Aunt Pam: You embarrassed me and this whole family! leaving others to clean up the mess you caused⌠so many souls lost because of you and you donât even know it..
Aunt Pam: You should be in Hell just like your Father..
The Young Girl:Â oh shit..
Damien: *lifts his head up in shock* Huh?âŚ
Aunt Pam:Â Just looking at you just makes me sick
Damien:Â *falls on his back*
Young Man:Â PAM!
Aunt Pam:Â Heâll be fine, im going back to my zone anyways *A Bright Light crashes down taking Pam away*
Damien:Â *slowly starts to sit up*
Young Man:Â *looks at The Young Girl*Â Can you go check on Pam and make sure she calms down
The Young Girl:Â Sure it might take a few thousand years but that doesnât really matter now does it. *A Bright Light crashes down taking The Young Girl away*
Damien: not really feeling like paradise anymoreâŚ
Young Man:Â *looks down at Damien* I think we both know she has a right to be angry
Young Man:Â How did you even get in here?
Damien:Â Some dumb Angel said my blood donation saved lives so im here now
Damien:Â But to be honest if this is what i have to expect for an eternity, then i think i was better off in Hell
Young Man:Â *looks at Damienâs foot* Keep talking like that and you just might find yourself there
Damien:Â what are you talking abou- *Damien sees that his foot is starting to deteriorate just like in his judgement room*
Damien:Â HOLY SHIT! WHAT THE FUCK!!
Young Man:Â Relax you still got time.. but youâre only going to stay in Heaven if you belong in Heaven.
Young Man:Â So that means me and you are going to have to talk
Damien:Â Who the hell are you anyways!!
Young Man:Â *leans over and sticks his hand out to Damien* Hi my name is Chris and iâm your grandson.
Coon- A black person who is ignorant to white discrimination and unknowingly suffers with self hatred.
This story follows the eternal journey of a man named Damien, a man that will soon discover that the afterlife holds no corner for ignorance
*Bright Flash Of Warm Light Hits Damien*
Damien: *DEEP gasp*
Damien: *Jumps to his feet standing in shock and confusion*
Damien: *looking around* where am i, what is this placeâŚ
Damien looks around his surrounding seeing nothing but a huge barred Golden Gate and The Room he is in. The Room he is within seems to be almost never ending even though he can clearly see walls and even a ceiling. It looks like infinite expanding Box made up of colorful bright creamy light. The walls and even the floor beneath his feet move in harmony, very reminiscent to the flow of a calming river.
Damien: *walking closer to the gate* what the hell is going on here?âŚ
Damien: *grabs a hold of the gate with both hands, looking through the gap*
Damien: thereâs nothing on the other side besides more space. But why is this gate here separating me from it
Damien: *looking down both ends* this gate seems to be just as big as the room itself..
Damien: *gripping the bars* these bars feel weird⌠almost like touching a lava lamp.. but the surface feels more like a-
*A Huge Podium Suddenly Emerges From Beneath The Ground, Pushing Damien Away From The Gate*
Damien: *Falls on his back*
Damien: *starts to stand back up* Â WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!
???: Issa a Podium *peeking over from the top*
*The Podium Shrinks to 9 feet In height*
???: Hello new Soul, welcome to Your Judgment *smiles*
Damien stands to his feet observing what looks to be a floating Girl. The Girl had a Caramel Skin Tone, Long Brown Hair and her Eyes seems to glow with same color as the room.
Damien: YouâreâŚ. youâre not human are you..
???: Nope
Damien: But you look like a little kid, a girl at that.
???: Actually i look like whatever would make you feel more comfortable. My Appearance is strictly determined by the images in your head that reminds you of peace and understanding.
???: My hair, face, height, accent and language are all crafted by what you would deem comfortable.
???: Even how i talk to you and the words i use.
???: Every Soul has a different preference, Heck some talk to cats that speak a different language that they made up *shrugs*
Damien: Wait, Wait⌠just hold on.. where am i exactly and who or what are you..
???: Well to make this short, youâre in Hell and Iâm what you would call an Angel but you can call me Angie *smiles*
*The Room Starts To Slowly Shrink And Deteriorate, Leaving Behind Nothing But A Black Void*
Angie: Woah woah woah. no need for yelling my guy. i mean this is Your Judgement. Youâre literally doing this to yourself
Damien: What the hell does that even mean?!
Angie: *looking around* I honestly donât think i have the time to explain all that to be honest
Angie: Seems like you have some serious conflictions going on my guy, buuut you definitely seem to have a decision made. You just need to fully accept it so we can speed this up
Damien: Accept what?! Going to Hell?
Angie: yup you guessed it
Damien: Why would i accept that! I donât belong in Hell!!
Damien: I did good! I prayed, i helped people i even⌠i evenâŚ
Damien: Why canât i remember everything?!
Angie: Well in here you only remember whatâs necessary and what you Truly believe
Angie: You were about to tell a lie. A lie that you would commonly tell which is why you can remember parts of it. But a lie isnât something you truly believe so you canât remember all of it
Angie: *opens a book on the Podium and searches*
Angie: oo oo see look it *opens the book wide to shows Damien a page* seee Compulsive Liiieeerrr
Damien: no⌠no thereâs no wayâŚ
Angie: Dude itâs clear as day *brings book back and continues to read* hmm overly aggressive⌠repressed and denial of emotions⌠abuse⌠sheesh
Damien:
Angie: Over Sexualization⌠Manipulation⌠Theft⌠Violence towards others⌠GreedâŚwhats this here
Angie: Racism!? Colorism!? Nigga youâre Black!? Your Mom and Father was Black.
Angie: Like do you know the population of darker skins in⌠like youâre all the same species⌠like why⌠who??
Damien: Look ok im sorry! I didnât mean todo anything i did.. I didnât know!!
Angie: Bruh come on now. Humans are born with the ability to know right from wrong. How youâre raised can twist and confuse what you might see as good or bad
Angie: But deep down you know the truth. you definitely lived long enough to know what you were doing
Angie: Denial is held up by Excuses and Self Ignorance. And as you can see we hold no corners for that here *smiles*
*The Deterioration Speeds ups, The Room Itself Starts To Feel Cold*
Damien: *puts his head in hands, kneels and begins to panic* I donât wanna disappear.. I donât want to go to hell⌠I donât want to dieâŚ.
Angie: *looking down at him* But you donât truly believe that you should be in Heaven either. All the things you did, all the people you hurt.. You Knew Better.
Damien: *beginning to tear up* i did, i did know better! i was just⌠i donât know.. how could i have known⌠i thought it was ok⌠i thought i was taught right⌠i though⌠i thoughtâŚ.
*The Deterioration Stops for a second, Then continues to Grow*
Angie: HmmâŚ
Angie: Tell me something Damien
Angie: Do You Love Yourself?
Damien: Do i..loveâŚmyself..
Damien: I donât⌠i donât know⌠*picks his head up and looks at Angie*
*The Deterioration Stops*
Angie: Hmm.. interesting *opens book again*
Angie: *takes a deep breath*
Damien: What?.. What is it??
Angie: A blood donor! Why didnât you just tell me that from the start?
Damien: Huh?.. what are you talking about?
Angie: Youâre a Blood Donor. Says it right here
Angie: Seems like you save a lot of lives because of that. How could you go to Hell when you have so many people that would love to thank you
Damien: *whipping his eyes* so does that mean im going to be ok?
Angie: *hovers over to him and grabbing his hands and helping him up* Of course youâre going to be ok *hugs him*
Angie: Youâre going to be just fine *pulls back and smiles*
*The Golden Gates Begin To Open*
Damien: So does that mean i get to go to heaven
Angie: I guess so
Damien: *Hugs Angie again* Oh My God.. Thank You, Thank You so much
Angie: i didnât do anything, believe me when i say there is still a lot more for you
Damien: What do you mean?
Angie: It wouldnât mean anything if i told you now would it?
Damien: I guessâŚ
Damien: So now what?
Angie: Now you walk past those gates and find your Happiness *smiles*
Damien: ok.. *lets go of Angie and begins to walk past the gate*
Angie: Oh and one more thing Damien
Damien: *turns around and looks and Angie* Yea?
Angie: Whether in Heaven or Hell, Truth or Ignorance, you will find your Peace or you will find Silence
Damien: Huh?
*A Bright Light Flashes Taking Damien To Paradise*
Angie: *looks at The Gold Gate* Humans really need to be more creative about these gates..
