Svsss au where SY is something close to an immortal abyss beast and he’s brought to the human realm where he is captured and domesticated.. maybe… if you want to skip to the au you can skip to the cut that says “Onto the au” since most of this is just me describing SY and why I made him this way.
WARNING THERE’S SOME FREAKY SUGGESTIVE STUFF, NOT IN THE APPEARANCE OR AU STUFF BUT LIKE.. THERE’S A SECTION ON THE FREAKS SO IF YOU’E UNCOMFORTABLE PLEASE SKIP THAT!
Okay, appearance wise he has long crystallized-green horns that curve upwards towards the sky, framing the sun perfectly when positioned correctly. He has a human torso (which is fully functional but exists solely for the purpose of luring) and the lower half of… multiple things actually, Shen Yuan is basically some sort of demonic centaur-chimera. He’s known as a “Widowed Centaur”, (or just a widow for simplicity’s take) which is a huge carnivorous beast that lives in the abyss. It’s large, and relies on the lure at the top of its body to secure prey. His front legs are large, dark, and resemble human arms, able to be used as such since he can support himself with his two other pairs of legs for a good duration of time; The middle legs resemble those of a large cat’s, with thick claws able to dig into any terrain with ease; his hind legs resemble those of a dear, with cloven hooves and thick soft fur. He also has a long this fur covered tail—it’s pure muscle though and can be moved rather freely. There’s thick feathers that connect the human torso mimic to the rest of the body. Oh and he also has wings, but they’re more for decorative purposes rather than flight purposes. (If you’re struggling to imagine it here’s like a sketch.. thing? Me organizing my ideas www)
Design choices and anatomical things: Oum the belly button on his human part is fake, his actual belly button is located lower, just a little bit before the hooves. Originally the tail was supposed to be used for hanging off of things but I was like… that makes no sense what do they need to hang off of things for? So it’s now just an extra appendage. They don’t have good vision (their human eyes are tiny) so they actually use their horns to see—they’re extremely sensitive to like vibrations and can pick up on even the slightest ones in the air.
They do not have hollow bones and their massive body makes it hard for the, to take off / get out of the air so the wings are usually used as an additional intimidation mechanism with the occasional usage of slowing falls (or even gliding in rare cases). These guys weigh a lot so while they may have been able to fly in an earlier evolution, that ability was lost in favor of an increased size and intimidation factor. (Eventually they’ll evolve to not have wings at all but that’s in the far future)
The reason they’re so big is literally because everything around them is equally large and terrifying. The catty claws are great for frontal assault (and it makes for a good combo when the humanoid arms up front hold onto an attacker while the cat claws to gouge out their innards or something) while the hooves are perfect for swift retaliation against anything that manages to sneak up on them (which isn’t a lot, so the hooves might eventually be evolved out for another set of paws)
When it comes to reproduction the females are usually the more assertive ones. They usually flip males onto their backs and do the work—once a guy’s flipped over they sort of just get docile, glassy eyed, and go still. like they’re still conscious and able to function normally, so if they really aren’t interested in the advances made they can and will just fight the other off.
They shed their horns one at a time (they grow back relatively quickly) once per year, and mates do this thing where they crush up the old horn droppings of their partner into a glittery dust and roll around in it. It’s like an obvious way to say “I’m married/mated” or whatever. Pairs with more than two “widows” are just extra glittery. (YES WIDOWED CENTAURS ARE RECEPTIVE TO MULTIPLE PARTNERS MUAHAHAHAHA)
They usually have really dark coats but that’s from rolling around on the floor and staining themselves thoroughly for camouflage reasons. Their fur actually starts off as whiteish cream colors. Because they’re so large and their fur blends in with their surroundings they just seem like they’re apart of the terrain to most other creatures, which gives the lure that added temptation bonus since most creatures are willing to ambush a defenseless being. The lure bit doesn’t feel pain—like if a widow allows something to close enough to attack the lure, there’s not really any pain, just the sensation of being touched—which is ticklish for some and uncomfortable for others, each widow has a different reaction to it.
AU stuff: SY spends the first chunk of his life with his family, peacefully spending his days collecting play fighting with his family, eating when he can, and lounging around aimlessly. Honestly, there isn’t much else for him to do. Not many civilized beings ventured to the endless abyss to begin with, and most sentient beings that did fall into the abyss and survive were usually devoured by Shen Yuan’s family rather quickly.
So things that can catch SY’s attention are far and wide, as everything unknown to him is something of interest. One of the days where SY is roaming around the territory, looking for anything blown in by the wind, he finds a… crack? He’s not sure what it is, it looks like a blurry light glare in his vision—the kind that happens when bright light is reflected off of the horns of others. Nonetheless, Shen Yuan, the curious one of his family, seems to throw all safety precautions to the wind as he noses around the area and investigates the crack-like rift thing. It’s small, barely the size of his horns—it’s like a fingernail to him. He doesn’t see much danger coming from it until it gets too close and feels his body pulled into it. It’s a disorienting thing, his body is stretched and squished like putty as it travels through the dimensional rift. Just like that, Shen Yuan finds himself spat out into a new realm—disoriented, confused, and stunned by all of the life surrounding him. He’s not in the abyss anymore, no, he’s in the demon realm.
Shen Yuan regains his senses embarrassingly slowly, only snapping back to reality after a good 15 minutes have passed. Rolling off of his back, Shen Yuan surveys the area. He’s on a mountain of sorts, standing on a cliff high above all else. Shen Yuan’s inspection of his surroundings doesn’t last long because the cliff he’d been brought to is not appreciative of his weight and begins to crumble beneath him—send SY plummeting out of the sky down the mountain.
Shen Yuan naturally spreads his wings and slows his fall the most he can, however it’s not enough to stop him from crashing through the roof of a… building? He’s fine—I mean he didn’t take any major damage except for a like…large splinter through paw—and he’s quick to stand and regain his bearings. He crashed into some wealthy person’s home—said wealthy demon rushed in in response to the commotion and is just stunned by the towering beast standing in the middle of their house.
Shen Yuan, who ate like 3 days ago and is satiated, isn’t in any rush to eat the demon and instead focuses on the interesting things of his surroundings. There’s a scent of rotten meat in the air, and the craftwork all around is… strange.(It’s bad, but to Shen Yuan who hasn’t seen many if any crafts in the abysss they look amazing) Naturally the demon want to attack but seeing SY stretch his body and expose those sharp claws that are nearly as big as their entire body makes them hesitate and try to figure something else out. Seeing the interested expression on SY, the demon is quick to offer things to him—the obvious intention being to form some sort of alliance with SY… and it kind of works.
Obviously the sudden change in realms isn’t easy to adjust to, but Shen Yuan is pampered by this demon guy (that clearly plans on utilizing SY’s strength). SY’s happy because he gets fresh food (Demon noble feeds those who’ve disrespected them to SY), interesting stuff (demonic crafts that are slightly better than the usual train wrecks), and he can communicate with another species (he thinks he understands the demon… and he does for the most part, it’s just there’s a lot of grey areas where things are lost in translation.) It’s the most fun he’s had in his entire life, actually. While he obviously misses his family, he’s got like no way back so he’s just living his best life until he figures out a way to get back home.
Things all blow up when the demon noble, who believes they’ve charmed SY and are entitled to using his strength as their own, gets too ambitious and makes plans to raid the human realm. So they do. And guess where they try to raid? That’s right, CQMS. Guess which peak they raid? That’s right, Qian Cao. And guess who loses? That’s right, the demon noble. And guess who stays behind in favor of the equivalent of catnip for his species? That’s right, Shen Yuan.
So plot wise this demon thing happens first, before the caves incident. The demon is so cocky because of their “secret weapon.” They fight for a bit before SY is revealed, and this unfamiliar beast has such a strong presence that it makes CQMS go on guard at once. SY’s watching everything go down, and when his demon patron signals him to attack Shen Yuan just kind of stares at him and plops down, instead lying down lazily in one of the many herb gardens of Qian Cao and batting at the scarecrow there (it was placed there to scare off any of the beast-taming peak’s escaped spiritual beasts. MQF has experienced his crops getting nibbled on and ruined by a wayward beast on more than one occasion and he needs the scarecrow to minimize his losses. It doesn’t help with the smarter beasts but it’s better than nothing.)
While the demon is beginning to panic and trying to get SY to do something—ANYTHING—reinforcements arrive, other members of the sect joining forces to drive the demons back. In MQF’s garden SY watches with detachment, as if he was a spectator all along instead of the “secret weapon” brought by the leader of the raid. When the attention is turned to SY, still watching with detached interest, nobody’s sure what to do.
LQG votes for killing the beast, but MQF advises against it since none of them know what SY is, nor what capabilities he has. A peak lord meeting is called and they just decide to monitor SY for now (as far as I thought)
OKAY BUT LIKE ONTO THE FREAK4FREAK HEALINGCUM
I LOVR SIZE DIF… SY laying on his back covering his face getting sounded,,,, by MQF….
If SY encounters like,, a shrinking plant (or mqf has like a gigantification spell) they’re going to probably traumatize the entire peak.
THINK ABOUT HORNPLAY!?! MQF GRABBING SY BY THE HORNS AUUGHH.
If it’s a switch couple scenario SY WILL BE USINF HIS FUCKINF TAIL TO MOVE MQF?!? I’M TALKING, STOMACH BULGING WHILE SY,,, Ahem ahem ahem I am calm I am CALM and not posting smut actually
So I included the whole thing where males get all spacey and docile when flipped on their backs specifically to have MQF, who’s taking the time to learn about SY’s bodily anatomy and his abilities, nudge SY to have him roll over. SY, who lets the weak push make him roll over, just melts, belly up to the sky.
SY who always sprinkles MQF with like,, the glitter he made from his crushed up horn (as per his species custom) and he’s so pleased with himself. He’s very interested in whatever MQF teaches him, like everything in the human realm is so interesting to him why wouldn’t he appreciate any knowledge shared w/ him??
I need MQF being a genuine tease—always pushing SY to the brink and retreating right before SY can get too shy and retreat. Like okay SY isn’t fluent in their language, he’s only able to pick out words that he’d learned during his time with the demon. Insert scene where MQF’s teaching SY how to beg… COUGH EDGING COUGH COUGH COUGH COUHG
Anyways about the dissection thing I mentioned I think MQF would be very interested in the humanoid lure SY has. When SY’s like “oh I don’t actually feel pain there” MQF’s like “can I cut you open” and SY’s like “actually yeah” and they have a moment of like… sexually charged surgery where MQF’s like arm deep in SY’s ribs.
Widowed Centaur species facts :3
Depending on the area of the abyss, the upper section of it’s body will either resemble a weak human being to lure in creatures looking for an easy meal, or it’ll resemble a strong being to tempt the stronger beasts into coming closer for a fight.
The face of the human part is able to retract and slide upwards (sort of like a mask) to reveal the true mouth beneath it. (Yeah we know MQF and SY are misusing it to the max)
Despite their towering size these beasts are known as the mimics of the abyss since they often use mimicking to lure and ambush prey rather than outright hunting. Their bodies often blend in with their terrain, leaving the human lure sticking out to draw attention.
They usually live in packs and have a long lifespan, often being able to live through 20-40 human generations in their lifetime.
They can imitate voices really well
The reason they grow so large is due to the abundance of demonic energy.
Their name comes from the way most human lures always seem to be crying or in distress, giving them a mourning appearance.
They have mini sub brains within their body to help control each of the limbs (Since they’re so large)
