     HELLO, AND WELCOME ! this is an independent, private, and selective blog for PUPPY from the 2017 video game RUINER released by the indie developer REIKON GAMES. here are some things to note:

PUPPY IS NONVERBAL. in most verses, he will communicate with (somewhat cryptic) messages on his helmet’s faceplate and through his body language/gestures. 

YES, HIS NAME IS REALLY PUPPY. or, at least, that is what he’s accustomed to being called. your muse is welcome to come up with nicknames for him, though! but he will always introduce himself with a graphic of a happy little white dog. 

YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RUINER TO INTERACT! puppy is very adaptable and can be squeezed into pretty much any piece of media that has both evil corporations and cyborgs. so don’t worry about knowing the source material!

all other pertinent information can be found in my RULES or puppy’s DOSSIER.

thinking about how puppy is very easy to deceive (only by virtue of not really knowing any better and mostly going along with whomever seems to know more than him), but the MOMENT he finds out he is being treated like a little plaything, he is like. if you survive, you will receive every meal from a feeding tube.

     HE HAS YET TO BECOME FULLY ACCUSTOMED TO GAMES--- for someone called puppy, he sure is ALL BUSINESS. but, he’s learning. even with HER nagging at the back of his mind, he is learning. 

      and he likes rachel; she has SOFT EYES, her laugh sounds like a music box. her hands remind puppy of little doves--- has he seen doves?--- the way they flutter around her, like they’re nervous to settle in one place. puppy understands that; sometimes his hands are like little doves, too. 

     but not now, though. he’s PLAYING now, reaching a hand palm up for rachel to touch--- but the second she gets too close, he stretches up, reaches HIIIIGH above his head, which is even HIGHER above hers. there is a buzzing in his chest that feels like SMILING. 

     finally, he gives in, because she’s right. it ISN’T very fair; he’s tall, bigger than most, and puppy has to tilt his head all the way down to see her. he’s got the advantage, and the thought occurs to him that MAYBE the game isn’t as fun for rachel as it is for him. so he brings his hand back down within her reach again for the little dove to perch on.

half of my brain is reeling at 90 miles a minute thinking about puppy and his lack of autonomy, and how even at the end when HER is like “come find me”, there’s no real guarantee that she’s left him completely because you can’t take anything HER says at face value on top of the fact that she is at least semi-omniscient. and even if she DID, puppy hasn’t really done anything that was truly of his own accord. even killing BOSS was orchestrated by HER, and while it SHOULD feel like an, “aw hell yeah, puppy’s free now” kind of moment, it’s somewhat undermined by the fact that he didn’t get there himself and was strung along with false memories of a baby brother that never existed.

but the other half of my brain is like. tee hee what if puppy’s silly little sneakers go squeak squeak squeak on the floor from all the blood on them after he stomps some dude’s head in.

      GET UP, PUPPY ! streetlamps are too bright, bouncing off puddles on the concrete, spinning and spinning. like a--- tilt-a-whirl ? around and around and around... hard to THINK, with the bullet lodged in his head. hard to SEE, too, with the cracks running through his screen, turning it to splinters and the lights--- he just needs to sit down for a moment. 

                                                 FEELS LIKE HEAVEN. 

     THE CHURCH ALWAYS LOOKS FORWARD TO YOUR OFFERINGS ! ♥ he isn’t going to DIE, he’s just going to REST. that’s all. pull himself together enough to make his way back to MECHANIX for repairs. that’s all. that’s all. 

                                          “ ARE YOU ALRIGHT ? “ 

     it takes puppy a moment to locate the voice--- there’s at LEAST four different faces he sees all at once. his head lolls to the side, and he spasms with the strain of trying to KEEP FOCUS. puppy sees GREY. swaths of grey and brown--- eyes. pretty. he raises a hand--- the flesh one--- and gives the most ENTHUSIASTIC thumbs up that he can muster.

     PUPPY HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN OFFICE BEFORE; the fanciest place he’s ever seen the inside of was--- HEAVEN, maybe?  ( THAT PLACE WAS A DUMP COMPARED TO THIS ! ) he feels out of place in his big leather jacket and dirty ( WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT! there’s literally BITS OF BRAIN stuck in your laces, puppy! ) sneakers. even at night, this place seems WAY above puppy’s usual paygrade. 

     he shifts his weight from one foot to the other; this is WILDLY different from puppy’s typical under-the-table dealings with people like rustam, where neither party has to look the other in the face. DO A JOB, GET PAID--- from a distance, of course, where his contacts had PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY. ( NOBODY CALLS YOU FOR A CLEAN UP, THAT’S FOR SURE! ) that’s all there is to it.

     so puppy is suspicious--- IS he suspicious?--- when he’s welcomed in like this is a casual meeting, one where the details of how puppy is going to turn people into the GORIEST finger paintings anybody’s ever seen aren’t what’s being discussed. ( MAYBE HE WANTS TO TURN YOU INTO SPARE PARTS ! ♥ ) he flinches at HER teasing; that’s a possibility, isn’t it? she DOES like dangling his life over his head for fun... maybe this is one of those times. only one way to find out, right? 

                                           he enters, and hopes for the best.

THAT’S VERY CUTE CONCEPTUALLY... but unfortunately, no 😔 puppy expresses himself through abstract, near-cryptic images and text and just hope everyone gets the vibe. perhaps one day he will emote more clearly, though...
