I have been working @nightcafestudio to create re-imaginations of literary characters in pinup scenes. My recent series: “Ophelia” features the Shakespearean character of Ophelia in her tragic suicide scene, from the 1599 play “Hamlet” and popularized in the 1852 painting by John Everett Millais

i went to an all-girls high school which made periods a pretty frequent and common topic of conversation. It wasn't rare for someone to poke their head into a classroom and ask if anyone had a tampon. you can imagine the shock i was granted upon graduation when i started talking about periods so openly with OTHER WOMEN and was looked at like i was pulling a string of mucus out of my throat!! Why are we pretending we don't have it???
