A Lists of Why Squid Game Season 3 Sucks
So, what you're saying, Director Hwang, is that you think the only way we can achieve a better world is by sacrificing the older generation who are living in it in the first place for the future generation? That's quite a bleak outlook you have there. But tell me, does that mean you're willing to sacrifice yourself for this so-called ‘better world’? Because if not, it seems rather hypocritical to expect others to make that sacrifice while you sit comfortably in your director's chair, doesn't it?
This original ending would've made sense and been bittersweet; it wouldn't be a ‘one-man takes down capitalistic organization,’ as some Season 3 defenders would say, and Jun-ho wouldn't have been called ‘Dora the explorer’ and ‘useless,’ as some Season 3 haters would say. Yes, I know he wasn't that totally ‘useless’ in Season 3, but Director Hwang did his character arc by changing the original ending for the ‘Giving the future generation a better world’ plot.
Oh yeah, how can I forget? Director Hwang also changed the original ending for Jun-ho to be the adopted father for Jun-hee's baby. That's the reason why he was late because, quote on quote from Director Hwang, "He arrived at the end as a person who seemed to be able to understand and raise a child.”
Oh look, another reason why Director Hwang changed the original ending. Wow, he really thought that 'giving him a happy ending after all the trauma he went through was anticlimactic and unrealistic.' No, it wouldn't if Gi-hun goes to trauma therapy. Did Director Hwang seriously forget that trauma therapy exists? Also, it's not a happy ending for Gi-hun; it's a bittersweet ending. There's a difference.
Director Hwang originally wrote that In-ho would taunt Gi-hun about Jung-bae's death, but thanks to Byung-hun, that didn't happen. I'm honestly surprised how Byung-hun, as an actor, understands the character better than the goddamn director and creator of the show. This is absolutely embarrassing, Director Hwang.
Remember the ending of Season 3 when In-ho and the female recruiter were staring at each other like they know who they are? Well, this is actually false since In-ho doesn't know about the Squid Games from other countries even though he's supposed to. Director Hwang told Byung-hun to make In-ho not know, and he was very confused about it. Also in Season 1, a V.I.P. told In-ho that "The Korean games are the best," to which he replied to him, "Thank you." In-ho should've known from there and then—no scratch, he should have always known—he's the Frontman, for god's sake. Did Director Hwang seriously forget Season 1? Also Director Hwang said the ending is impactful. Nope, it isn't, since I have stated earlier about what the V.I.P. said to In-ho in Season 1, but it would have been impactful if Gi-hun were the one to see the female recruiter since originally this was Gi-hun's original ending, but Director Hwang changed the original ending again because Gi-hun would seek revenge again by taking down the American Squid Game, but come on, Director Hwang, you should have shown the female recruiter in some other way without involving Gi-hun.
