Walking in the homes of the ancients today. This place has been on my "must visit" list for a while. Similar - though not as grand in scale - as Gila Cliff Dwellings, but much more accessible. This coyote was pretty interested in those cranes at the upper left. He kind of casually walked that direction. "Nothing going on.. I'm just walking over here for no good reason." The cranes didn't panic, but they kept maintaining distance. Compare the size of the cranes to the coyote (and it was one of the bigger coyote I have seen) and you get an idea of the size of those birds. I spent Sunday riding my bike through Valles Caldera. I didn't see any of bear that live there, or the giant elk herd I have seen before, but I did see this guy out on the prowl. This is the day New Mexicans burn Zozobra - Old Man Gloom. 53 - feet tall and stuffed with our glooms. Usually 65,000 people gather to watch him burn.
