Strangers and Explorations
"Are they?" He sounds surprised, even with his own voice being quiet. Being around them daily, more than that, it was easy to forget just what other people saw in them at times.
"Yes," she said, still looking at the precious stones as her fingers pressed against the glass. "Where have you found them?" Heidi asked, glancing back at the man.
"They werenât found." Though the question does actually earn her a slight smile, not quite there. "They were-" No, not made. "Bought."
"MayâŠmay I hold one?" Heidi asked.
He pauses, faltering on how to answer the question, having to scramble to find the words. âWhich one?â
"This...this one?" Heidi stuttered, pointing to a gem that had a yellowish hue to it.

Hiding his surprise over Heidiâs stammering, her embarrassment, he almost offers this time to help before realizing what sheâs looking over. The focus of her attention has Isaiah switching gears, standing back again.
"Youâre alright?"
She nodded her head âyesâ, blushing somewhat. Heidi then tentatively wandered to the side of the shop to take a peek at the gems. They were so shiny that the sparkles reflected off of her yellow eyes. She remembered the story of Snow White and how the seven dwarves would mine for stones like these.
"They are lovely," Heidi said quietly aloud.Â

((I'm back in Iowa which means I was finally able to check my mail box! Thank you so much for the adorable cards, ladies! SOCUTE!))
Baa ram eye, baa ram ewe, to thine own self be true! That can't be how it goes... after all, how true to your own self can you be, all reversed like that? At least your new additions (and subtractions) are only temporary. (M!A - For the next week, Heidi, you'll be taking a walk on the more masculine side! I hope you enjoy the male experience.)
Heidi was fast asleep when the magic kicked in. The tingling sensation of her body is what woke her up. Groggily, she yawned and scratched at the base of her horn. Heidi propped herself up on her elbows and opened her eyes to find that she wasnâtâŠquite herself. In fact, she wasnât even a âsheâ anymore!
The faun screamed and was so startled that sheâhe fell off the bed, only to land on a body part that wasnâtâŠthere before. Which made him scream yet again.
Strangers and Explorations
When the chime over the door sounds, the man behind the counter looks up, some quickly hidden surprise on his face when he sees the scarf that Heidi is wearing.
Clearing his throat to let her know she wasnât the only one inside, Isaiah glances toward the entryway to the back room - no appearance yet from his second helper, something that makes it marginally easier to relax, speak up. âHello?â
The greeting is a quiet one, pausing just out of reach and uncertain if she would need help up.
That was embarrassing. Heidi ended up falling on her bottom at the front of the shop. Her cheeks were red as she quickly turned away from the man at the counter. âH-Hello,â she replied. She grasped the door handle to stand back up as she rubbed at her tailbone. âI am sorry, I did not mean toââ- I tripped outside andââ-â
Heidi stopped mid-sentence when her eyes caught sight of all the jewelry in the shop shining and glistening in their cases.Â

Strangers and Explorations
Down the paved sidewalk she went as the faun became distracted by the tall skyscrapers scraping the sky and kissing the sunlight. My, how big they were! Heidi hadnât come out to visit the city much, but when Cyrus offered to come along into Metro City, Heidi decided to engage. The faun wasnât terribly afraid of humans anymore. It took some time to realize not all humans were bad and not all humans wanted to hurt her.
But she was still cautious. So Heidi continued to keep her scarf wrapped around her horns. She would peer into little shops here and there, bookstores and record collectors. âThere is so muchâŠâ she whispered to herself, looking up again at the tall buildings.
Except her foot caught a deep crack on the sidewalk and she accidentally tripped. Heidi grabbed the handle on the nearest shop door to support her fall and found herself stumbling into a jewelry shop.
