Did Day Two of the training plan my new personal trainer designed for me. I liked it, but it’s a full body workout each time instead of focusing on one/two muscle groups which is a change from how I’ve been doing things the past 6 months.
It kind of felt like it took Forever and none of my muscles felt like they got truly Exhausted. Maybe that’s good? Idk. I figure I’ll try it out for awhile, see how it feels. We’re probably moving again in a month or two so if I don’t like it then I’ll switch back once we move and I’m not working with this trainer anymore lol
Had my first personal training sesh today. The trainer has a 5 year old and was still training CrossFit til she was 8 months pregnant and is now probably the strongest woman I’ve ever met in real life. We have vastly different approaches to fitness, she hates running but lives in the gym, I tolerate lifting so that I can stay injury free running. But it was good!
Last pregnancy I was pretty focused on trying to keep running then once that got painful just walking as much as possible. And it worked out okay for me, a relatively pain free pregnancy and easy recovery after childbirth. But I felt really really weak postpartum and my pelvic floor muscles never went back to 100%. I’m hoping by focusing more on strength training this time that I’ll feel better later in pregnancy in regards to back pains etc and not have as many weakness-related pains postpartum. I’m still walking a lot because I enjoy it the time in nature and the movement but running just doesn’t appeal to me right now, so I’m accepting that, embracing that, and focusing on strength for now.
We’ll see how it goes! I’ve learned that pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery is a marathon not a sprint, and you just need to take it one step at a time
This has been a ramble brought to you by pregnancy insomnia and a nature walk with my furry girl
We’ve just been at the beach every day this week yall. Fun fact it’s a great way to keep a toddler happy while you mostly just lounge 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Chest & tris at the gym this afternoon after a beach morning with my crazy girlie
My lovely husband signed me up for personal training with one of the trainers at the gym. She’s super jacked, runs the CrossFit classes, and has a 6 year old daughter. She may be the fittest mom I’ve ever seen. So hopefully she has some good training tips for how to stay strong through pregnancy and postpartum again 💪💪💪
I actually feel weirdly good most of the time so far in this pregnancy. Like very little nausea, the exhaustion is livable, and generally totally fine??? Hoping it’s just an easier pregnancy and not like a sign something is wrong or the pregnancy isn’t progressing?? Idk I have a doctors appointment in a week so I’ll find out more
In case you guys wanted to see the data: the exact same workout, 2.5 weeks and one positive pregnancy test later, a 17bpm difference in average heart rate.
I kept wondering today why it felt like I needed longer rests between exercises to catch my breath… then remembered, oh yeah, pregnancy kills your breathing even this early 😭😭😭
Definitely starting to feel the symptoms. I genuinely hate being pregnant. Cute baby in 9 months, but man what a cost.
I’m going to try to stay consistent about lifting weights this pregnancy. Last time I mostly just ran then walked when running got uncomfy, which was fine, but I think being consistent with lifting will help more with the various aches and pains that come with pregnancy and definitely help me not feel so weak after pregnancy/breastfeeding, which I remember feeling last time.
But I’m also going to give myself grace bc pregnancy sucks and chasing a toddler around is exhausting work too.
Figured out why I wanted Doritos so damn bad 🙃🙃🙃🙃
Also, got myself some damn Doritos 😅💃🏼🥴
Chest & tris at the gym today, followed by a deliciousssss dinner
Unfortunately my babysitter had to cancel on me the rest of the week so I am solo with the kiddo til Thursday evening. But c’est la vie, I’ll just do some power yoga and keep getting stronger 💪💪💪
And I mean that quite literally - I’ve increased the weights on all of my exercises this past week 💪💪
My daughter yesterday when I said I was gonna go for a bit she nodded very seriously and said “mama strong” so my master plan of normalizing that mamas and women are strong too is working 🥰💪🥰💪
My husband hates the beach but loves my silly lil antics
Reader - we do not have any Doritos. We live in Europe. 99/100 I’m so glad for this fact. Today? Today I want Doritos.
So hot, living at beach, brb will return to working out when temps drop
Saw this picture of me playing with my kid & was like damn I look strong!!! 💪💪
Guess I’ll go to the gym again so I keep feeling like that
Enjoying the hell out of summer time tbh ☀️💃🏼☀️
A minute of my 90 minute long heart opening vinyasa flow today
No babysitter, solo parenting for a couple days so embracing yoga as my exercise form
Plus morning nature walks with a toddler lol
We’ve had friends visiting for the past couple weeks so mostly been busy being tourists with them & going to the beach a lot, but went to the gym a couple times, hiked a couple times, and they left this morning so I went for a run this afternoon 💪💃🏼🙃
I have felt mildly sick/had bad allergies/generally been phlegmy for like 6 weeks now and I am so over it. It’s driving me crazy. Is this a sinus infection? Is this just who I am now? And how tf do I make it stop?!
4.5 mile run this afternoon + bonus vid of my kids crazy curls at the playground
2.5 mile run today + my daily yoga wake-up + a bike ride into town with the baby
Enjoying the cooler weather and chill times before we have visitors for the next few weeks.
