Hi there! Are you still hiring for remote work?
Yeah. What’s your zip code?
Hi there. I'm a stranger to you but I saw you speaking with someone in the comments of a post about remote work, and I'm depressed / desperate enough to give asking someone on tumblr a shot. your reblogs make it seem like you're a decent person at least! I've been searching for remote work basically since last march, after realizing that social anxiety in office environments has been holding me back. The last two roles I held started remote and were entirely remote, respectively, and I was promoted relatively early on in both -- which had never happened before then! So I want to find something similar and continue putting my best work out in an environment I'm comfortable in, which is to say from home. Pretty much my whole career experience has centered around administrative support, mainly as a legal assistant for 6 1/2 years and more recently as a team supervisor on a legal document review contract project, but I've also worked in the insurance industry and done some work in / adjacent to the medical / educational fields as well. I've had a handful of interviews that seemed promising, but no offers yet. Just got another No today, though they said they'd keep me in mind for later, so who knows. It's been discouraging. It's a long shot maybe, but do you know of any remote opportunities that could use that sort of experience, either with your company or someone else? I just figured there'd be no harm in asking. I deeply appreciate you reading this regardless of whether or not you're able to help! So, thank you!
Hi there, I’m just seeing this. Okay I’ll fill you in on the details you’d need now. I’ll drop a direct DM.
This sounds like a fucking shitpost, but trump completely destroyed the east wing of the White House
Oh my fucking God. They completely demolished the entire east wing. The whole thing is rubble now. Trump just tore down half of the White House.
(picture from the article linked above)
This was supposedly done in preparation for construction of his self involved ballroom project, but he had claimed before that no changes would be made to the existing building structure. And now half of this unbelievably historic building is gone.
i'm reblogging these pictures because...yeah, in the most literal way possible, one-third of the White House, the USA's most famous, iconic and symbolic historic building, was just completely fucking obliterated
We need non-binary activism NOW! for everyone outside of the sex and gender binaries. We need research, organising, radical action, on the ground protests. We have no civil rights, we are socially and legally invisible and that injustice must end NOW!
Music is wild like howd U make that lol
My interviewer tried her best to use he/him for me and it was wonderful. She had about 75% success rate and apologised for the slip ups.
It's really not that hard to be a decent person.
people who grew up religious and moved away from it or are still religious but just in a way where they've, like, realized they don't need to be a republican about it, always whip that factoid out like it gives them a Unique Authority in discussions about faith. as if "vaguely christian but not really that gung ho about it" does not describe the median american experience and they are some sort of unicorn of broadened perspectives. and i'm here to tell you as someone who was not raised as any kind of christian even a little bit: this experience with religion puts horse blinders on you. if not properly unpacked, this relationship to christianity does nothing but turn you into the sort of spineless centrist who thinks that Both Extremes need to chill out and accept the "right" level of ambient background christianity in life and politics, which, of course, naturally, is whatever level of christianity you personally don't find distasteful. but obviously the christian right will never be content with Only A Little Bit of domination over the daily lives of american, and obviously those of us who are not even a little bit christian will never be satisfied with Any amount of christian domination over our daily lives. so eventually you'll need to have an opinion on the subject beyond "why doesnt everyone just chill out" and i suggest you do it sooner rather than later
Maintaining a diversity of ongoing personal projects is important because it enables you to procrastinate on one by aimlessly tinkering with another, thereby creating the possibility that you'll finish one of them by accident.
The traditional practice of getting employed after obtaining a degree has gradually slipped away, as recent graduates struggle in a competitive labour market, jobs have become out of reach and they spent years applying for different jobs, writing various job applications. This is to take notice of the saturated workplace, everyone is stepping up and they seem no room for this young graduates to embrace the labour market, they are left on their own to figure it out, it is getting tougher every single day, all they have got is to roll over their sleeves and get ready to work extra for them to able to succeed. Knowledge acquired from university can only serve as a tool for breaking out of your own shell, as opposed to a guarantee for employment.
The overreliance on getting a job after graduation has contributed to the unemployment, school don’t only teach how to do your job as an employee but it also enables you to think and create something. Your ability to think outside the box in this difficult economic situation will save you economically and provide sustainable environment for growth. Inflation has become the order of the day, young people are looking for survival rather than jobs that are pleasing to them, it is no longer dream job, it is the ability for them to adapt to this economic crisis and create an escape route, takes priority above all, this is the extreme position the labour market has pushed them and it is getting tougher every single day.
The shift away from job applications which led to the competitive labour market, the ultimate panacea could be the ability to think, smartness, intelligent, creative and entrepreneurship, these are where sustainability resides if you can create something from this situation. The expectations have gone up, it is competence and smartness over degrees you have to match your degrees with practical experiments, your practical knowledge and understanding of fact in issue makes the difference. The competitive labour market shines light on unemployment and limited availability, it is evidence when a job that need less than 100 but you could see more than a thousand applying for the job, it is out of these numbers that you will get the best 100, about 900 will go elsewhere looking for job.
It is down to fight of best brains the creativity surrounding your approach economically, financial freedom is very essential in life, it brings you closer to almost everything you have dreamed of, but you need to create a path through which you can achieve that, the channels through which you connect hard work and brilliance open the doors, you need to market yourself, it is about the services you’re going to render to the people, it is always about the people, your ideas to improve lives and create a sustainable society is what makes the difference. The innovative ideas that are going to drive the market, the world is up for disruptive innovation it is about how you change that from your own little enclave.
