Loosely based on the Russian fairytale 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑇𝑎𝑙𝑒 𝑂𝑓 𝐼𝑣𝑎𝑛 𝑇𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑐ℎ, 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐹𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑏𝑖𝑟𝑑, 𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐺𝑟𝑎𝑦 𝑊𝑜𝑙𝑓.

In my take, Yuri is a Firebird, a fairy being that can turn into a bird or a human as he wishes. Otabek is the Kazakh equivalent of the Tzar’s son and the only one who manages to steal one of the Firebird’s feathers.✨

The Firebird is stealing golden apples from Otabek father’s garden in Almaty (since Almaty is known for its apples *wink*) so Otabek set his mind to catching the Firebird but…what if it’s the Firebird who catches him? 💖
