Hi can we talk about how Laura, Bob and Dale remember each other from their own perspectives?

Laura (Seasons and The Lake):

Remembers Dale as a dark shadowy figure haunting her, but she’s able to escape him. She has no idea who he is. She doesn’t think of Bob at all (you could say it’s because of her corruption and memory loss).

Dale (Case 23, Theatre and Paradox):

Remembers Laura as a murder victim who appears to him as her age and as an older woman. She haunts him. While Dale remembers meeting Bob in Theatre, he does not remember their conversations. He remembers Bob committing suicide and becoming corrupted again. He remembers using Bob to get the cubes and being threatened by him, even being followed to the elevator.

Bob (The White Door):

Remembers Laura and Dale as normal people. Even when they appear inhuman, they talk like people who mean no harm. He imagines her regretting their break-up. He has secret memories of Dale comforting him in a bar. He has a dream where he and Dale meet at a club, and Laura is there dancing until things go wrong. The most hints we get of Dale’s manipulation is Dale saying “I need your memories” after Bob gets corrupted. The Laura he remembers was an artist who was struggling with her sadness.

anways. insane to me that bob holds no apparent anger towards dale, dale sees and remembers these people at their worst, and laura is completely alone with fractured memories from beginning to end.

if rusty lake goes for the “dale is obsessed with laura’s death not only because he did it but because he’s fallen in love with her from investigating her death” route I’ll lose it

I know Rusty Lake is taking inspo from Twin Peaks (which had Dale kiss Laura, but at least not fall in love with her), and Twin Peaks took inspo from Laura 1944 (which had the older detective fall in love with Laura before finding out she was alive).

But RL has only referenced TW, so it’s unlikely, but the thought of it is killing me. We’re not gonna do this ok! We’re not doing this!

rusty lake has a hotel serial killer game, a haunted western gothic family game, a detective story, and a messed up isolated cult game.

they should do a circus next, given ida’s probably performed at one due to her powers

look rusty lake roots leaves big time gaps between stories and leaves a lot of room for interpretation, but the evidence points to ida and samuel having THE most raunchiest, passionate relationship ever. homegirl saw visions of her future husband dying painfully and she still decided to marry him. they had a child before marriage in that kind of era. samuel and ida were the couple who were visibly eyefucking each other across the room all the time and could barely keep their hands off each other while albert seethed quietly in the corner
