As the rush in the restaurant started ,tara had no choice but ,to wake up and start cooking.

Scene shift

She was making paratha

Tara: yaar this paratha is too slippery, it is not staying in the pan.

A man who was making another dish replied

Man: don't worry about it being slippery just don't burn it. Alright?

Tara whispered : hmmm

Then she heard a commotion outside and went there.

Outside in the restaurant, a boy was proposing to Razia in Spanish

Sahil : Te quiero muchísimo Razia.( I love you very much)

And tara who saw everything from the kitchen's door replied

Tara held up the hot tong : and this hot tong also loves you, wanna have a taste of it.

Razi smiled at it and then replied to sahil

Razi: Yo también te quiero, hermano. (I love you too but as a brother.

That made tara and every staff and customer who knew spanish burst out laughing

Sam was about to add that to the dish , but then realised

Sam : kittu....

Tara: kya hai , subha subah kyu devdas ban raha hai

Sam closed his eyes for a few seconds in disbelief

Sam : kittu , move on from lal mirchi, learn something more ,this is chat masala not garam masala.

Tara :oh..I didn't knew

Everyone around were laughing.

Tara: hey.... Shut up , do your work.

Then she looked at sam and said

Tara: aashiya has grown so big , you still don't put label on the masala's container.

Sam : Haan yeh bhi meri galti hai na( yes , yes this is also my fault, good good).

Tara: ofcourse, now let me have a short nap before opening or I will roam like a zombie

Then she didn't wait for reply and went back sleeping on her chair and somebody even provided her with a blanket

After getting freshened up and having breakfast both tara and Elan went to aashiya

Scene shift

In aashiya kitchen

Tara took a seat below the fan and started sleeping

Eho : she is hopeless

Razi : no , she is helpless

That's when Sebastian called tara loudly.

And tara's dream broke

Tara: huh....hu..h

Now tara came to kitchen

Sam : pass me the garam masala kittu

Tara looked at all the spice containers and then passed one

Next morning Elan woke up early as usual. And saw tara sleeping till late as usual.

Elan freshened up then took the plate from Tara's lap and then went on cooking breakfast for them

Tara woke up after a while and asked

Tara: bhai , what is there for breakfast?

Elan : I have made your favourite fried rice. Elan replied from kitchen

Tara immediately jumped with excitement and took a plate from the shelf and stood in front of Elan.

Tara: bhai, I am hungry.

Elan looked at her like a disappointed father: ofcourse you are hungry. But you can't eat food without brushing. Go brush your teeth , no one is going to steal your food, okay.

Tara proudly: bhai , haven't you heard, lions don't brush teeth.

Elan : yeah yeah , and lions also don't eat tons of chocolate right from the box. And then complaint about the dentist uncle being insensitive to tooth.

Tara: bhai , pretty please 🥺

Elan turned her around : no go brush your teeth

Tara took the plate from elan's hand and frowned.

Tara: bhai I wanted something chatpata spicy.

Elan sat down beside her

Elan : you will like it ,give it a try. And if it doesn't satisfy you then I'll make something else for you to eat.

Then tara took one bite of the food then remembered something. And got up switched the tv one.

For a moment Elan was shocked

Tara: bhai , I forgot to watch today's wagle ki dunya's episode.

Elan let out a small laugh.

Elan : only 1 hour you will watch tv

To which Tara nodded but she hasn't heard a word of it cause she was so consumed in tv.

Elan sighed and closed his eyes to sleep.

And tara it took tara 1 and half hour to finish the food. But then slowly she also fell asleep with the plate on her lap and tv on.

Elan : and what are you making.

Tara smiled nervously and tried to hide the view pan by standing in front of it. But forgot that Elan has nose and with the smell of it he can guess exactly what she was making.

Elan : kittu seriously , you are eating Maggi in dinner?

Tara made a cute face: bhai you toh know nah that I am very lazy, first of all and second I was very hungry so I made maggi.

Elan : if you were hungry , you could have told me. I would have made something proper for you?

This was the all she wanted to hear. She handed over the spoon to Elan and went out of the kitchen saying.

Tara: thank you bhai, it is so hot here. I am sweating like a pig.

Elan looked at tara then at the spoon in his hand and sighed.

Then he quickly cleaned the mess and made fresh khichadi and raita for tara. And came back to sit with her.

Elan : anyways , it was quiet expected from him. Now go to bed it's late. I will get your room prepared.

Tara: thank you Bhai

Scene shift

Elan was asleep in his room when a loud voice came from downstairs which woke him up.

Elan pulled out a knife from his knife collection on the side table and when downstairs. But instead of some enemy , he found tara cooking.

Seeing her, Elan put away the knife

He said while walking towards her

Elan : kittu if you were hungry , you could have told me , what was the need of turning my kitchen like it has survived a tornado.

Tara: bhai, I didn't wanted to disturb you and you only say nah that cooking is a basic skill and everyone should know it.

Elan looked around, saw the mess.

Elan : but beta , there is nothing wrong in taking help sometimes.

After sometimes when tara still refused to move from the mansion's main gate. One of sury's man came and threw a bundle of notes in front of tara.

Seeing that tara quickly got up.

Tara: hey this only covers phone's cost ,what about my emotional loss. Compensate me for that too.

Man in a irritated tone: go away , don't cause a scene or again you will be beaten like a dog.

Tara laughed : Huh, no no no I will not leave this place until you compensate me properly.

The man didn't reply to that and went back. And after a while when tara noticed that no one is coming so she quietly left the place.

Scene shift

Now in the middle of night tara was at the door of elan's house.

As soon as Elan opened the door and saw tara , he immediately called her in. And stepped back to let her in.

Now they were sitting on the couch

Elan : so what happened?

Tara: nothing , he just kicked me out

Elan: what?????

Then he grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of the mansion. Behind him his partner said.

His partner: surya , she is your daughter , you can't just kick her out like that.

To which surya replied with a deadly glare.

Surya : her presence makes me feel like a failure. She is better off in the streets. Till the time her father sends someone to pick her.

Saying that surya went inside and his poor guards were left to deal with tara's tantrums.

While tara was more than happy to get out of that prison of a mansion. Tara still didn't wanted to leave a chance to argue as it is her favourite hobby, you know.

Tara looked at the guards: so which one of you is going to compensate me for my broken phone. She said it while showing them her phone which was now perfectly broken into two.

Guard: we don't have the money.

Tara: don't worry that sadu human inside has cash in his pocket tell him to pay or I'll sit here and start a satyagraha movement right now.

With that she sat on the ground.

tara then closed her notebook

tara: okay, now lets take a small break. If I don't take break my mind will blast.

then she switched on the AC, paired her mobile with speaker and blasted music on her phone.

Her small break lasted for about two hour, while she was enjoying dancing freely in her room. Downstairs her father was in a meeting, cursing ever now and then. But other than him everyone was enjoying it.

His business partner was also giggling and humming the song.

his business partner humming the song: tere ane se pehele thik tha, abh murjhaya sa koi phul hoon,pehele tha banda kitna kaam ka ab khali refel jaisa fizul hoon.

This boiled tara's biological father even more that he stood up and went to tara's room. His business partner also followed him , curious.

he went inside her room and threw her phone on the ground

tara immediately stopped dancing

tara was angry now: what? why did you break my phone.

her father: I warned you not to mess with my mood. Didn't I?

Then she went back to her room

Tara: now peth puja is done.. now let's get to work.

Then she sat down on her study table determined to study. And then opened her phone and copied the datesheet of her exams in her notebook.

Tara: okay , so first exam is of accountancy.

Then her determination faded a little

Then she looked up

Tara: oh god , the first exam is accountancy. I will never in this life pass this subject.

Then she blinked and checked the second exam.

Tara then again looked up: my life is miserable... O God, these teachers want to give me a heart attack by keeping the first two exams of the subject I will fail for sure.

God you toh know nah , I can't cheat also, because first I believe in, get failing grades but don't cheat your fate. And second if grumpy man finds out ,I cheated he will send me to beg on the streets.

As Elan was making Tara's hair he said

Elan: sir has called all of us today in the evening. Will you come?

Tara: After morning's incident , the chances are narrow. But I'll try. Anyways with years of beating my skin has thickened enough to survive 2-3 more beatings like these.

Elan : Are you hurt anywhere else ?

Tara : no bhai, now you should go. It's already time to open restaurant.

Elan nodded tied her braid with a rubber band and bid good bye to tara and left.

Then tara slowly slipped downstairs as she was hungry.

She went into the kitchen and slowly as no one was seeing took an apple from nearby tray and ran away to her room

Tara proudly: from years of stealing food like this ...I have become an expert. Sometimes I think I should have become a thief..., but then I fear the real thieves would become homeless. That's why, only that's why I didn't went into that business.

Elan said in a slightly commanding tone: I will teach you don't worry. Now show me your face.

Tara raised her head. And Elan put medicine on her face. As the medicine touched Tara's skin she flinched a little.

Elan said sweetly: It will hurt a little , don't worry. And as a medicine specialist you should know.

Tara waved his hand away as she was feeling itchy and painful.

Elan seriously said: let me put the medicine.

Tara: bhai will it leave a mark.

Elan thought for about it a bit then replied: maybe but even if it does. I will find a solution to erase it completely.

Tara smiled: you are the best bhai....

Elan smiled back : hmmm.....

Then tara stood up and brought back her comb with her.

Tara: bhai , can you make my braids just like you used to do when we were kids.

Tara: bhai, bhai he died....

Scene shift

Now both of them were watching the movie together on phone. And both were getting emotional as the movie was on sad scene.

They were passing napkins to eachother on rotate

And in the end time when something interesting was about to happen Tara's phone died. And they both led out an irritated sigh.

Tara: this phone , had to die in the most interesting seen.

Elan: well it's not entirely phone's fault , it was surving on 1% battery for past half an hour.

Tara: bhai , now what will we do. If I don't see the ending . I will not be able to sleep.

Elan stood up: no need to sleep it is only 9 O' clock. Have food, and then study , your exams are approaching.

Tara got annoyed : no , I don't wanna study. Those big maths books are heavier than me bhai. And do you know bhai I think those books have some kind magic I don't know why whenever I open them , I automatically start yawning.

Have you ever seen something unjust happening but still decided to walk past it because you don't wanna cause a scene or thought that it was not related to you and so it was not your problem to handle?. I think many of us have done this and many times too. It's like we saw someone who needed our help but then thought that maybe someone else would help them. But the question is why do we do this? If after that for hour we keep on thinking that we should have helped. The point is that we all want to help but we never convert our thoughts into actions and that's the problem. See today they are asking for help tomorrow it can be you. And tell me honestly how would you feel if everyone around you noticed but didn't help and walk away minding their own business. It will hurt you right?. So next time help and even raise your voice of you see something unjust happening cause it cost money to help somebody, all you need is the confidence that you are doing the right thing. And don't think that because they are strangers so it would be awkward for us to help. Always remember we all might be strangers to eachother but not to humanity.
