Damsels in Distress (2011) is a comedy film directed by Whit Stillman about a trio of college girls—Violet, Rose, and Heather—who try to revolutionize their campus by helping depressed students through hygiene and dance, but their plans are complicated when they get romantically involved with men, threatening their friendship. Starring Greta Gerwig, Megalyn Echikunwoke, and Carrie MacLemore, the film follows the group as they welcome a new transfer student, Lily (Analeigh Tipton), into their ranks at Seven Oaks College.

The girls speak as if they were transported from the regency era and into a regular 2010's college. It's so funny how no one commits on it.

Finding Forrester is a 2000 drama film directed by Gus Van Sant about the unlikely friendship between a reclusive, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, William Forrester (Sean Connery), and a gifted African-American teenager from the Bronx, Jamal Wallace (Rob Brown), who excels at both basketball and writing. The film follows Jamal as he navigates a prestigious prep school, where he is mentored by the hermit-like Forrester, who helps him develop his writing talent while confronting his own past and the prejudices of others.

This movie is now on my autumm movie list.

Watched Ruby Sparks (2012) is a romantic comedy-drama about a lonely, successful young novelist, Calvin (Paul Dano), who creates a female character, Ruby (Zoe Kazan), who magically comes to life as a real person, and he discovers he can control her actions and personality by writing about them, leading to a exploration of control, relationships, and the "manic pixie dream girl" trope. Directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the film was written by and stars Zoe Kazan, who also stars alongside her real-life partner Paul Dano.

I highly recommend this movie it's so fun and the characters are so likable. It's a 5/5 for me.

Made a cute little baby doll top. I used fabric that already had elastic in it and added bow tie straps, and I think it turned out adorable

Made this simple maxi dress out of fabric that already had the elastic in it. So it was just wrapping the fabric around me, deciding how I'd like it to fit. Sewing down the side (I did asd pockets) added sleeves and done. This was the easiest dress I have ever made, but I love it. I feel like the leading lady in a romantic story with the off the shoulder and the floor-length maxi. This is a win for me.

Picked up this fabric at the thrift store it was 3 yards for about $6. And I turned it into a maxi skirt. I self-drafted the pattern into simple half circle and added pockets, of course. This skirt has become my most worn one that I own. I think it has a very y2k feel.

Made this cute midi dress out of this light weight crinkle floral fabric that I got from Joanns a couple years ago. I used a simplicity pattern number 9643 is size 34. My favorite part is the volume in the sleeves.
