Name is River Gray, don't call me River or Gray unless I know you and if I don't I will kick your ass. I hate most things in the world, but if you strike my interest consider yourself lucky. I am 18 years old and moved to Helltown to get rid of my past so now I will be in my senior year not giving a fuck what you think.

She adjusted her satchel on her shoulder as she listened. Feeling a bit bad about her jokes. “My aunt is the same, but it was more of a constantly forgot to sign anything. I learned her signature pretty quickly. Who knew the looking at it upside down trick actually worked.” she chuckled before glancing over at him with a small smile. “Well, I am free for the rest of the day. So if you want to do something I am willing to..”

Let out a small smile to her nodding “Right?” He said clarifying her sentence since he learned from the upside down way or watching his dad when he wrote a check. “Well where do we want to go?” He asked her surprisingly in a good mood and no one knew why. Maybe it was because he was being a decent human being for once. “Your car or mine?”

She watched impressed as he marched up to the front. A man who could forge signatures could always prove to be useful. Roomi quickly packed up her things and followed closely behind the other. Waiting until they were out of the room to speak up. “You know. That skill could be pretty handy. But a hardened criminal since grade 3? How interesting.”

River Gray had his fingers clutching the straps of his backpack as they walked down “Well when the parents were away and you wanted to go on that field trip to the zoo, what else could you do? But criminal gives me more of the bad boy vibe so I can roll with it.” He said jokingly before running his hand through his hair. Looking down at his feet he then looks over at Roomi “So where are we going or is getting out of class as far as we will ‘hang out’?”

She smirked playfully at him. “How good are you at forging signatures?” she whispered leaning slightly towards the other. “Because I am certain that I can sneak out but both of us may be a bit too obvious.”

smirked a little bit reaching out of his backpack pulling out a blue sticky note then a pin. “I have been forging signatures since the third grade. Like I could make a career of it.” He told her as he wrote out the note saying ‘ River Gray and Roomi to the choir room’ then signing it in a messy hand writing by one of the choir directors. Flashing the note and a smile to her he packs up his stuff into the backpack before getting up walking to the teacher showing it quickly to the teacher before turning around waiting for Roomi to gather her stuff for them to leave.

She couldn’t help but smile at his sarcasm. Whether he meant it or not, Jamie could always appreciate sarcasm. “Part of the flaws of being a doctor; you can never sleep that long because someone’s always going to need you.” Her tone made it sound as if it was a joke, but she wasn’t joking. “No but honestly, I’m like…trained to only sleep for a few hours in case my pager goes off. I don’t know how it happened, but it did, and now I’m screwed.”

Nods at her “You are a doctor? That is so cool expect the sleep part. If I don’t get enough sleep I am more of an asshole than I already am.” He told her because whenever he does not get enough sleep he will be cranky even if he is doing nothing the whole day. “I could not handle being a doctor and it is not because of the blood. It is because of the vomit.” He replied because everytime he sees the bile he is the next one leaning over a trash can. “River Gray is my name by the way.” He told her extending his hand.

“Can the day get anymore boring. Please tell me that you have something fun for us to do.”

Nodded his head in agreeing with her as for he was wanting to jab a pencil in his ear at the moment because of the teachers lecture. Looking over at her shrugged “Maybe we can skip through the back or write up a fake pass and just leave?” He asked as for he was willing to do just about anything to get out of here.

Meanwhile, Nora just wanted to become a detective. She’d get out of school a few years before her ‘deadline’, but she figured she’d do what she loved before that happened. “Seven months? - And you’re just now ‘decided to finish your high school career’?” This was a surprise, what took him so long? She’s was coming back from being schooled, which was a little rough at first. And looking back, she’d probably push her debut into hell-high back a few months too. “Oh, yeah. We could use a few more conceited asshats at our school. You know how the saying goes, the more the merrier.”

Nods at her biting his lip since he did not want to get into the reasons at least until he got to know her more. “Yeah I had to drop out for family matters.”  He replied to her giving a tight lipped smile as for his therapist back in his hometown suggested it and even convinced him so he quit school till he was stable enough. “Yeah, I was supposed to graduate at seventeen, but plans change.”  He said then putting his right hand in a back pocket looking at her. Letting out a small laugh the boy shakes his head at her words “Now c’mon Nora, there is a difference between conceited asshats and asshats. I don’t think of myself in the conceited department at least.” He said jokingly, but you could not really tell since the tone which always seems to happen for him.

Nora slightly joined in, “Spoiled? No.” She nodded, “Ok, Maybe a little.” The brunette smiled, glancing around the room. She’s never seen him before, around her were the same old cliques, and flocks. Helltown was due for another asswipe, new faces made this town a bit more tolerable. “Anywho, River Gray, are you knew? or-..” She shrugged, waiting for him to respond. Nora hated talking, well, just hearing the sound of her own voice. A bit raspy, but not in a complete, ‘I’m marry and I used to be a smoker’ type deal, but enough to tell she has a bunch of unwanted shit resting in her airways. “I’ve only been here for a month or so myself.”

Nods after her clarifying it “I used to be so spoiled even worse than fucking old milk.” He told her running his hand through his hair it again. Half of the time he did not even realized that he did that half of the time. “Kind of. I have been here for seven months, but now just decided to finish my high school career.” He told her as for earlier he was just not motivated, but it he wants to become the CEO of the company his father was at he would need to get a high school diploma. He did not want to do that for the money since he already had enough of that, he was in it to finish his father’s legacy. He then gave her a small smile before it turned into a smirk “Do you think the high school is ready for me? Like I am more of an ass than Nicki Minaj has an ass and that is a lot.”

“Good…try to keep it that way, yeah?” Jamie had way too many negative thoughts and feelings toward energy drinks. Feelings one would think she’d have toward caffeine in general, and yet she still harbored a dependence to coffee. “I mean naturally you don’t have to. You’re free to do whatever you want.” she corrected. She had no place to tell him what to do, doctor or not.

“Yes ma’am.” He said sarcastically even if he did not mean to and it just so happened to slip out of his mouth that way. It was too late to take it back now so he will just live with it. “Anyways, why will the coffee not be enough? Did you not enough sleep. Seven to nine every night.” He said jokingly of course, but his tone might not have showed it.

“It really isn’t that hard to set you up for a joke.” She shrugged, shifting the weight from her right leg to her left. “Seeing how every piece of bullshit that spews from your mouth is laughable.” Her lips twitched with a smirk, eyes retaining their stone cold glare. “As fun as this has been, I have to go to class or whatever.” Her excuse was blatantly transparent, clearly a lie. “I’d say it’s been a pleasure, but I’m not really into lying.”

“Oh really? The whole bullshit thing is not one sided I am sorry tell you.” He said as for now she was just trying to push his buttons. He then backed up a little also wanting to get out of the conversation soon or else he would let his temper get the best of him. “Really? I’m new to the school maybe we will have the same class.” He stated before giving her a fake smile with a enthusiasm laced in his tone. “Well it was a pleasure meeting you Cam Ortesky. Maybe we can do this again sometime.” He told her with a wink then turned around to walk off to wherever.

“It was just a suggestion and I never had one so I do not know.” He told her running his hand through his hair not really wanting to explain himself. He never really did coffee or energy drinks since he saw the things it did to his parents who were always up.

“Well,” Cam retorted, raising an eyebrow  as her scrutinizing gaze burned into his, “I’m a vegetarian.” Her head lolled to the side cockily, arms crossing over her small frame tightly. Her expression gave no hint of amusement–just straight, cold sass. “That was really funny. Did you come up with that one yourself? You’re so clever, Gray River.” A painfully forced laugh pushed past her lips, but it ended up sounding more like a bratty scoff than anything.

“That’s nice as long as you get your nutrition.” He told keeping his arms crossed as well. It was like those old western movies with the standoffs, but instead of guns they have snarky remarks. He was not bowing down though as he cocked one eyebrow up and put a small smirk on his face. “Thanks Ortesky, I have to give all the credit to you though for setting me up.” He told her as for even though she was slowly gaining his respect by putting up with him for so long he was not backing down.

Nora laughed. “Ya know, you just gave me another way to skip classes I don’t appreciate.” She nodded, crumbing the napkin in her hands and resting them in her lap. “Sometimes I’ll just pretend I’m having trouble breathing because who give even one shit about pre-calculus?” Nora added, “The second I start coughing, or breathing heavily they basically shove me out the room.”

Liked that Nora had a very welcoming presence and that he did not have to be a closed off asshole. “You are welcome.” He said with a smile then looked at he nodding since he really did hate pre-calculus ever since his father made his tutor teach him things three grades above. “I hated pre-calculus even as an nineth grader.” He told her looking around the place. “Yeah, normally I would just not show up since I knew the lesson and if I did not like it I skipped. Damn I sound spoiled.” He told her with a laugh.

“No…I didn’t know that. Maybe because I’m not a fucking nerd.” Cam shrugged, a familiar glare settling into her features. This kid was clearly an ass, and she wasn’t about to let herself get beaten at her own game. “It’s definitely fitting, I guess. You have about as  much personality as a hamburger. Cheeseburger’s got you beat, though.”

“Ooh, straight off with the nerd insult?” He said running a hand through his hair as he noticed that he was not the only sarcastic ass in this place. Crossing his arms he looks at her shaking his head “No I’m the bacon swiss burger that everyone wants but does not get because they don’t want a heart attack.” Still with a small smirk on his face he couldn’t resist saying “Ya know what they say right?” What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger or a few pounds heavier.”

“Jesus, alright!” Cam resounded, holding her hands up in surrender. “Didn’t know it was such a touchy subject, RG.” Her eyes studied his diligently, waiting to see just how much she could get away with. “No need to get so snappy.”

Let out a small chuckle then raised an eyebrow “You know that Rg is roentgenium right? Also is a burger place in my old town called RG Burgers so if you think of it you just called me an element or a burger joint.” He told he looking over then back at her with a slight smirk on his face. “In my opinion I would rather be a burger.”

“I like it too, it’s definitely unusual, which is good.” Green is her favorite color, her absolute favorite compared to all the others. But, seeing as he’s very opinionated, much like herself, she’s cut it at that. Wouldn’t that be a way to die? A tedious fight pertaining to the better flavor of Apple Jacks. She gave him a small squint, and skimming the area before she began slightly coughing into her elbow. This was normal, though she had her trusty tank, it didn’t stop the build of mucus in her chest. “Do you mind-..” She coughed again, “Do you mind if I sit for a second?” She asked, pointing to the seat behind her. And from there, her mild coughing fit began to slowly dissipate. Grabbing some tissues, she held it to her mouth in case she needed to cough again. Nora looked up, her gaze meeting his before giving him a slight grin, something similar to a faked smile. “Sorry- about that…”

Gave her a small nod of appreciation since most people just don’t care about his name. Then he noticed that she started coughing which at first he became slightly concerned since she did have that oxygen tank right beside her. He felt guilty slightly since he was a healthy human being who complained when he had to run too much, but here she is going on with her life while having a tank to carry around all the time. “I am not a complete ass, of course you can sit.” He told her putting his hand on the back of his neck not knowing what to do as she was coughing. He looked down at her shaking his head and swatting a hand “Nah, don’t worry about it.” He told her giving a tight lipped smile wondering if it was always like that. “There was this one time I started sneezing so much during class that my teacher made me go to the nurse’s office.” He told her trying to lighten up the mood.

Nora noticed he played with his hair a lot, his hand constantly brushing through it. Maybe it’s just a habit, one of those habits where you’re not even sure you’re doing it. Her eyes followed his hand as it made it’s way up once more. “River-.. River Gray, isn’t a bad name either. A little long, but..” Nora was probably mistaken, assuming that ‘Gray’ was equivalent to ‘Ann’ - Like a, ‘Mary-Ann’ followed by an actual last name. But, of course, Eleanora is just as worse. As she looked around, her mind circled back to their first argument, defending the pride of her favorite flavor. “- And the green ones taste much better than the orange ones..” Nora was never a big fan of the color orange, or cinnamon.

Gave a small nod agreeing “It can tend to be, but you get used to it. I like it anyway.” He said as he was younger he was always mad that his parents gave him two first names instead of one, but as he got older he tend to like it more. Now it is just a piece of his parents that he wants to keep. Looking around very quickly before he gaze went back on her shaking his head “That is the other way around. The green ones are the shit that you ate earlier while the orange are the decent ones.” He told her as he has hated the color green since he was like twelve. It was not a good looking color to him.

Though most people did not even make River Gray turn his head he liked the reply she gave him so he deemed her as at least a decent person so far. "Well it depends if you got too much of the green ones." He told her putting his hand on his head then shaking his hair a bit since it was something that he has always done even to the extent of making people annoyed by the simple action. "Nora is not a bad name." He said which meant it is a nice name, but he really sucks at compliments. "Yes it is River Gray as you could tell by that interaction back there." He then looked down at her tank which he did not even notice until now. He alo knew that she probably hated when people treated her differently so he is going to do the exact opposite.
