“i dunno. if i had to go back to the dungeon, but i knew that someday i’d actually get to really debut, i think i’d be okay with it.”

“i was planning on it. you’re a baby. you kind of need me,” ahki muttered, but she took his hand, squeezing it. “you should give me an extra key so if you’re panicking  you can just text me and i’ll be there.”

“don’t i know it– who else would i call in the middle of the night while i’m having a panic attack.”

“no one. i’m the best at dealing with you.”

“I’m wondering about that too.” He sighed, patting her shoulder in what he hoped was a comforting manner. “What goes through the CEO’s heads will always be a mystery for me… My guess is they’re just trying to play it safe.”

“at least i have you. i dunno. no one else plays it straight with me or gets it.”

“i love you too,” she finally mumbled back. “you’re lucky your anxious ass has me to protect you.”

Jeno frowned, “The fact that yo can play an instrument already makes you ten thousand times cooler then Harley. You can’t know that, they also could’ve dropped you and you wouldn’t be preparing to debut.”

ahki frowned, biting her lip hard. “if i’m cooler than her then why am i not good enough to be showcased?” she asked quietly.

“i’ll inform everyone then.”

he was about to say something– probably of course or you got it– but stopped right before, so she wouldn’t get mad at him, squeezing her tighter.

she took a deep breath, bury her face deeper into his chest and murmuring, “i know i really suck to be around. like most of the time. so thanks for sticking around.”
