“seok, you’re lucky you have me,” ahki said with a little eyeroll, glaring at him slightly before reaching up and straightening his collar, standing on her tip toes to help his hair lie flat. “you looked like you just banged someone in the closet and then ran through or tornado so you wouldn’t be late. what would you do without me to keep you looking presentable, you clown.”

“Your rhythm was a little off at the end there, sweetheart,” Hyoji commented with a smile, tucking her hair behind her ear. It wasn’t often that Seok came to her for advice or help with his rapping--damn kid was too prideful--so when he did, she treasured it. She loved spending time with him and often felt very inclined to keep a close eye on him (for good reason, too), so she was always down to give him tips. “D’you think there’s a metronome app? I learned how to do faster raps using a metronome to pace myself--I think it’d do you well, buddy.”

“Alright, cut the shit,” Hyoji ordered, looking at Seok seriously, though there was kindness in her eyes. She was genuinely worried about the maknae, but when wasn’t she? “I know you’re not just fine. You don’t need to act tough in front of me, kiddo. So I’m going to ask you again--what’s wrong?”

“Right....So you’re telling me Brandon sent you to me to teach you how to rap?” Eliza repeated, raising her eyebrow and shaking her head slightly. “You realize I’m not a coach, right? I have no experience teaching anyone anything. You sure he said to come to me?”

As she could barely stand her own group members and spent a lot of her time with Brandon, she knew Seokjung pretty well. Brandon and Seok were roommates after all, and Ahki had long since gotten to the stage with Brandon where she stopped giving a fuck and got comfortable in his bed when she felt like it. It wasn’t that she hated Seok or anything--he just had an ego to rival hers, and she didn’t know how to react to that. And often when she didn’t know how to react, her default was to be hostile. Still, they had trained together, and as a rapper, she respected him. And now when he came into his room and she was curled up on Brandon’s bed, he was usually less surprised--this time he had hardly jumped at all. “You’re done your schedule for the day, then?” she asked, not really looking up from her phone when he entered.
