The setting was nervewracking. she had always disliked being the center of attention. and with ten people staring at her while two cameras and several lights shined on her face; naturally jia was uncomfortable. she gave her best at trying to complete the sentence she was conveying but somehow couldn’t seem to find the appropriate words. “--i was listening to bob marley, um, a lot... at the--um--time.” her fingers gestured in aide of supporting her statement. “that, yeah, influenced the song----”

so wearing a sweater makes it too hot not wearing one makes it too cold. what bullshit weather is this i h8 this country.

on a more enthusiastic note: happy new years everyone! i know my activity has been shit but all my friends were visiting and it was the holidays and i did not realize i would be that busy wow. anyway things are back to normal now so activity will hopefully soar.

she hated it. she has always hated. interviews or anything that wasn’t on stage and involved interaction was a no-no for her. and yet there she was, all mic-ed in, swallowing hard as the red dot on the camera turned on. she clears her throat, bracing herself. here we go again, yet another disaster.

→ favorite song of the year? group? show? company? “it’s so hard to pick just one.” she tucks her hair behind her ear. “for me, i think i liked prophet’s ‘body’ a lot. and yoora’s ‘try’. also riko’s ‘hello bitches’. i really can’t choose one.” she laughs. “+82mafia was a good combo, i don’t follow a lot of groups to be honest.” a pause. “i liked reign’s ‘hate’. umm, shows, i don’t know, i like running man.” she doesn’t hesitate for second when answering the last question. “i don’t have a favorite company. they are all the same to me.” → favorite project you participated in? (can be songs, albums, shows) “the solo project i’m working on. i think i’ve put a lot more effort than any other album on this. other my own, mercury’s why so lonely.” → most disappointing comeback of 2016? ”honestly, i haven’t even kept up with most of it, but sparkle’s ‘tt’, i mean the song is catchy but i don’t know, i guess, a song about an emoji isn’t really my thing.” → if you could join one other group, which would it be? company? ”i’m fine where i am, thanks.” she smiles. → if you could create a new group, who would you choose to be in it? company? show? ”i don’t think i would be any good at creating groups, i’d rather not.” a nervous laugh. “i think i company conveying more underground artists would be cool, especially with less strings attached.” → who do you think will win idol project? “i don’t really keep up with it but i’ve seen first hand how hard the girls from ds work and i’m rooting for all of them.”

chae couldn’t help but smile a little, glancing over at jia. jewoo told her she was talented on the daily, but he said it enough that it’d kind of lost any meaning at this point. it was nice to hear from someone aside from him, whose opinion she still valued as much. “thanks, unnie,” she replied quietly with a little nod, sighing a little. “i dunno….i just…i want it. i want to be first place and i want to be that good, but i think sola deserves it more than i do.”

“ANYONE who works hard deserves it but in the end, it’s all timing really.” jia shrugs, an awkward smile forming on her lips. “sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t.” that was something she had learned the hard way. when she was underground, she had struggled severely and to this day only believes she got where she is by pushing forward. “just don’t give up and you’ll get there eventually.” even though she was trying to comfort the girl, she still felt like she lacked in doing so, she hated her inability to convey her feelings toward anything.

FOR a second jia wondered if he had noticed the can that hung in her hand, neatly hidden away by her body. maybe he did. either way, she placed the half drunk can of soda on the table and without a word took a seat at a nearby empty chair.
