I am very close to winning a printing press and I really fucking want a printing press. you can sign up on this cute website and vote for the poster design my poor hyperfixated ass came up with (image below).

What’s wrong with me?
over the last few weeks i really got into printmaking. Like REALLY. Ive been doing this basically all day every day and there is no end in sight, its just so. fucking. fun.
You know the drill, like coming up with multilayered images and carving those into lino and stuff, the way some of you may have been forced to in school.
There is this monthly printmaking contest with changing prompts and prizes. As you may have guessed, this is about me entering this contest.
How does this work?
You can check the contest entries on printmakersmatrix.com. This months prompt is poster, meaning a printed image including text. I made a poster inspired by my favorite radiohead song, weird fishes / arpeggi. the community votes and the winner recieves a speed ball press. asking family or friends to sign up and vote for you is encouraged.
Have a look at the designs, atm there are 25 entries so it shouldn’t be too overwhelming. You might enjoy mine (photo above) or you might prefer a different one, really just pick your favourite. You can not sort these entries, they will be shown in a random order.
Create an account and vote. (These people will not send you any emails you don’t want and it’s really just a tiny community of people who enjoy printmaking, so nothing fishy to worry about)
At this moment, since this community is still quiet small, there is a low number of total votes and while i am writing this i am only 3 or 4 votes behind the current first place, so it wouldn’t take a lot. I really put so much thought and energy and also a few breakdowns into this print.
If you want to vote for me and you see I am still in second place, I would be so grateful for you to do so! If I should be in the lead (in case this really works out haha) you don’t have to do this of course.
This months contest goes on for 6 more days, which means voting will be closed on the 30th of April.

Bonus: what ive been working on
At the moment I am still exclusively printing by hand, since a press is quite expensive. So I use a wooden spoon. Works surprisingly well, but I’m still desperate for the upgrade.
In case you are interested in what I am making, here are current favorites:

this entire process from sketch to print took me so long its not funny anymore.
↑↑↑ (copies of some of the many many versions I drew on my ipad, the fucking wooden salad spoon i use to print, and the lino blocks I used)
↑↑↑ (the "thing" i build (some may call it a registration device) to get the lino pieces aligned and a wobbly fucking stencil I attached to it to get this wobbly pattern on the image and let me tell you this did not work well at all and i am never going to attempt this again, well maybe except one day when i can afford oil based ink with a working time over 20 seconds jesus christ)
