After worrying over the sudden change of scenery, Hayden decided on a mellow distraction, perched under the largest tree to admire nature. It was a certain change from the delicate blossoms of China.
Ryan had decided to drag one of his favorite llama toys up one of the trees he thought would be good to nap in. And, he’d been fine until he rolled over and fell partially on someone who was underneath him. “Wow! Sorry! Are you okay?”

Eden’s blank expression remained unwavering as she stared up at the other, a hand placed on her hip in an unimpressed manner. “A pegacorn? I guess if you squint it makes sense…” She was more so surprised that the other had recognized her own costume due to the fact that Dorothy was such an iconic character – or so she thought. She glanced down at her blue and white checkered dress before shaking her head slightly, “I mean… Dorothy’s friends with the scarecrow but I definitely don’t work in a pumpkin patch. I’m Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, silly! But, if you want to go to a pumpkin patch… I’m sure that we could find one around here. I’ve yet to pick a pumpkin out either, we can do that together!”
“Yes, a pegacorn! And, I’m a beautiful pegacorn!” He said, puffing his chest out proudly. He was used to people often not seeing what he did, but it didn’t bother him. “I’m not sure who or what that is, but you’re doing great at being them! But, please! I really want to go to the pumpkin patch and find the biggest pumpkin.” He used his arms to show the unrealistic size of the pumpkin that he wanted to find. “What are you going to use your pumpkin for? I want to carve it and put a spaceship on it and then I want to eat the seeds inside them and then also share the seeds with the squirrels. Do you eat the seeds too?”

What was wrong with her? She had never usually blushed this much, but now she couldn’t stop. All the compliments were too much for her and the consequence just so happened to be a face as red as a tomato. “Well… I try, I don’t believe using your magic to your own advantage.” She admitted before rubbing the back of her neck in a nervous manner. “I’d definitely be happy to show you sometime! –And make you pumpkin juice… especially since I guarantee it tastes a lot better than a raw pumpkin.” She giggled softly, finding this boy to be delightfully odd and enjoying every second of it. “I was actually making these for customers, me and parties don’t exactly go well together. People usually don’t think I’m that much fun, so I’m not sure anyone would ever come if I were to throw one.”
“You don’t want to use magic to help yourself? But, why not? I mean, you use to help other people, right? Then, how come you can’t help yourself too?” He asked, obviously very full of questions. “As long as your pumpkin juice tastes better than a pumpkin, I’m all for it! But, you should totally have a party! I don’t see why anyone would say no --- people are looking for fun anyway,” he said in a whisper, leaning in slightly as if it were some secret. “I could help you throw a party and maybe you could show the people these thingies you make. They’ll really like them, want more, and then become customers! That’s how it works, right?”

Peppers eye’s flickered up to the other in front of her. Her lashes fluttered before filling with relief that he didn’t seem upset. “ Oh good. “she breathed out. She then seemed perplexed by the question. “ New? I suppose I am. “ she replied slowly, before nodding. “ Oh I’m from Sugar Rush! It’s a video game, have you heard of it? “ she questioned.
Ryan gave the other a confused look, brows coming together. “Sugar Rush? Yeah! I used to play that back in the arcade at home all the time! Though, they would always kick me out because I wasn’t supposed to be in there... Wait, did you say you’re from a video game? So, the people inside there are really real? I knew it!! How you guys never talk back? It’s kinda rude.”

Pepper had never been outside her game before. ( Not only was it frowned upon but also very dangerous ) Naturally being so far from home troubled the young girl. She walked around trying to find something that might have given her a clue of what was going on, finding an arcade being her top priority. Pepper had been so caught up with what she had been doing she hadn’t even noticed the other in front of her. “ Oh Good Gum drops! I’m soooo sorry. “ she apologized quickly.
Ryan felt someone bump into him again -- an occurrence that seemed to happen often now that he was bigger. He turned to her and offered a large smile, shaking his head. “Hey there, don’t worry about it! I get in the way a lot, so I’m kind of used to it. I’m Ryan, by the way. You look new! Where are you from?”

Eden couldn’t help but stifle a small chuckle at the cliches that spilled from the boy’s mouth. Of course, it was nothing she hadn’t heard before – and admittedly she did play into them from time to time just for fun. “Witches definitely aren’t all ugly, except for the ones who become ugly by using dark magic. Though… I do wear a pointy hat and have a broom, but that’s a rare sight to see. Maybe sometime I’ll show you just what I can do.” It was strange to see the girl so confident in her abilities, but it was mostly a facade in this case. Something to make her seem impressive. Caught off guard by the other’s next question, she found herself deeply pondering the answer. “I think I would taste my mom’s homemade pumpkin juice… or maybe cinnamon and apple tea.”
Ryan let out an impressed noise. “Well, if witches get ugly by using dark magic, then you must use the best magic in the world!” He said, definitely impressed and enthralled by the girl’s appearance and perceived skill. “You should show me some magic sometime, then! And your hat and broom. And what your mom’s pumpkin juice tastes like. I’ve tried to eat a pumpkin once because we were pumpkin carving once for Halloween, but it didn’t taste good at all.” He grimaced at the memory. “What are you making these little things for anyway? Are you going to be having a party? Can I come?”

Halloween was always something that Eden went all out on, especially when she was younger. Suddenly younger and bright-eyed once more, she was clad in a Dorothy costume and prepared to head to a Halloween party. It didn’t seem weird that she wasn’t home or suddenly knew about this party, all that was on her mind was having a good. Though she was stopped in her pursuit when she collided into a stranger’s chest, bright blue eyes flickering up to meet the other. “Oh, sorry about that!” She gave the man an apologetic smile, though that smile turned to a look of confusion as she crinkled her nose up slightly. “–What are you supposed to be dressed as?”
Ryan wasn’t paying attention as always. It was harder for him to notice the smaller things when he was this big, so it was no surprise that he’d run into the girl. He shook his head before chuckling. “Isn’t it obvious?” He asked, pointing to the obviously homemade horn and wings that were taped to his back. “I’m a pegacorn! What are you supposed to be?” He rested his fingers to his chin, trying to decipher the girl’s outfit. He’d never really watched older movies, so he was obviously not going to recognize the character. “You look like you work in a pumpkin patch. Oh, do you? Do you get to pick up all the pumpkin? Can you take me?”
“I think that’s as good of an idea as anything else, especially because you would look adorable with it on.” Eden commented, a genuine smile appearing on her lips. It had been a while since she had smiled this much in one sitting. “But as for why I was making them… they were actually potions. I’m a witch… so I sell potions and charms to help people, usually the potions taste like whatever the person desires most at the moment – which says something about you.” She chuckled again before gently poking the other’s stomach this time.
Ryan’s eyes widened as the other mentioned she was a witch, mouth dropping open slightly. He’d only heard of witches and the like, but he never met or even knew if they were real. His expression was quick to change when he was poked, chuckling and defensively covering his stomach. “No way, you’re a witch! That is so so cool. Can you make me fly and stuff? Do you have a broom and wear a pointy hat? I heard witches were ugly and evil, but you’re so pretty and nice that I can’t believe that,” he said, leaning forward to get a better look at the other. “What would you taste if you drank the potion?”
“My primary objective has always been yo help others, I have never taken time to entertain myself. Perhaps now would be a good time to start.”
“Wow, that’s crazy! I like helping people too, but usually I just mess up or totally miss what I’m supposed to do completely. Hey, I got an idea! How about you teach me how to help people better and I’ll teach you how to have fun!”
“ Oh you are so welcome. Don’t worry i wasn’t looking at that one, how about that little giraffe over there. That would be lovely, even if you haven’t cooked before i’m sure you can do a fine job.”
“Oh, of course!” He said, excitedly picking up the giraffe and handing it to the other. “You two look like you’ll be really good friends. But, if I need help cooking, will you help me? I promise I’ll do all the work, but I might have a few questions.”
Eden couldn’t help but cringe slightly at the thought of eating a whole pineapple. “A whole pineapple? That’s crazy! I think YOU might officially be crowned the king of the pineapples, we’ll have to make you a pineapple crown.” She chuckled as she shook her head slightly in amusement. “Don’t worry, next time I’ll be sure to stock up on pineapple soda when you come in and make you a pineapple float. A promise is a promise and I wouldn’t want to let you down.” She playfully poked his chest. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ryan. I’m Eden, and it wouldn’t be the first time that someone has randomly drank something I’ve been working on. –…I really need to be more careful and watchful with these things.”
“I am the king of pineapples! Sometimes I use the top of the pineapple you’re not supposed to eat as a hat. Maybe we can turn that into a crown?” He suggested, more than excited about the idea. I giggled at the poke and rubbed at the ticklish spot. “I believe your promise -- anyone who makes such tasty things can’t be liars. But, why were you making those things in the first place if you weren’t planning on anyone drinking them? Were they just for you or a present for someone else?” He curiously asked the girl. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d accidentally ruined someone else’s present.
“ I do, don’t worry that means more room for you! You do have lot here let me take a couple up for you. I might just take you up on that offer, they are pretty cute.”
“Yay! Thank you! And, you can have any you would want. Except maybe the little llama one -- I think I like that one too much already. Maybe I could try to cook for you to say thank you. I’ve never cooked before, so it should be fun!”
“I do not. I have never seen them as a necessity.”
“Really? But, how come? They give you company and make you so happy because they’re so cute! Maybe if you had one, you’d realise it.”
“Wow… Someone ought to switch you over to decaf.” He chuckled easily and nudged the other softly. “So where do you want to go hunting for stuffed animals first?”
“Decaf? Oh, no thank you. I only like sweet coffee, so I’m going to stick with pumpkin spice ‘cause we don’t get it a lot. I’m going to keep drinking it until I’m sick,” he declared. He paused to think, unsure of where he could find stuffed animals. “Well, the store usually has them, but I don’t know which one. We could ask the houses if they have any they want to give up for adoption.”
