so, fact about Sloan, he cannot swim. his wings are very densely-feathered and definitely NOT waterproof, so they absorb a lot of water, and become weights on his back that would weigh him to the bottom of whatever body of water he was in.
even if he was in shallow enough water with his wings submerged, getting out of the water and walking would be a nightmare. I imagine they already weigh a couple dozen pounds, now imagine soaking up a bunch of water. I think drying them would also be a giant pain in the ass.
another thing about him, he has surprisingly good lungs. Being able to fly, it would make sense that he is able to breathe efficiently in very thin air. If he was born with a stronger body, he could've been a very good runner I imagine.
he's not religious, but he believes in gods, or creators, I guess. If something really bad was happening, he might pray, but it wouldn't be a usual thing or something he did on a daily basis.
His english isn't the best, i also just think of it as the Common language. Most of the things he says is grammatically correct, but it might not be the usual way people that are completely fluent would say it. It might even be a little broken sometimes.
He'd say things like "I am bored to do this..." Or even get things wrong like 'fish' and 'fishes' if that makes sense.
I've said some of this to Mitch, but I'm going with him and Nacht first meeting in the Spade Kingdom while he was spying. He was born in a continent far away, where avians are, so Common wasn't his first language.
And uh, if someone tried to give him Tofu or any kind of fake meat, he would look at them like they just cursed his whole bloodline. he is VERY serious about meat. As for WHY he only eats meat, it's how he grew up, and is disinterested in trying anything else.
I've also said to Mitch that his blonde hair shows up on Nacht's dark clothes. But he DEFINITELY does it on purpose, and it's easy to do it considering where his head is.
If, for whatever reason, he is up early, he'll go outside and feed seeds to the birds outside.
He manspreads. If Nacht is next to him, he'll make sure to have their knees touching. (like jeez sloan, don't be so possessive)
Um for this part, if you aren't caught up on the manga then don't read this (I assume you are but just in case) We know that Nacht has the same dream about Morgen every night, despairing when he wakes up. Sloan is very observant, and he often notices on those days. He is very good at comforting Nacht.
He LOVES having his hair touched. I imagine Nacht does too.

I assume he struggles with showers and baths as a result of all this, has he found another way of cleaning that works for him? Or does he just soldier through? (Or not clean at all lol).
I imagine he’s weary of Noelle’s magic too from all this, specifically in battle. He probably stays well away from her to avoid being soaked - especially during the times when she has so little control over her magic and it swerves uncontrollably. 💀
It’s good Sloan has at least one healthy physical attribute considering how tired and frail he is normally, good lungs is great I’m happy for him. 😔✌️
I think him not quite being religious makes sense, he’s probably a lot more attuned with the existence of devils considering he’s Nacht’s partner and the Fausts’ family history. I wonder if it’s something he always thought or if he lost / gained a little faith after experiencing all the devil incidents and such. 🤔
His English not being the best makes a lot of sense, and I like that he kind of retains struggling with the language a little despite living there now. Usually the language barriers get brushed over quite quickly in black clover, for example with Fujio’s magic being a workaround for Asta in Hino, and Yami just being fine now (which, don’t get me wrong makes sense since he’s been in clover since he was a teenager - but it’s perfectly normal to still struggle with a foreign language even after a long time since it’s not something everyone picks up easily).
I assume them meeting in the Spade Kingdom during Nacht’s spying answers my question about whether he was in the sea temple arc bits 😭 but now I’m curious - was Sloan helping Nacht in Spade Raid?
I loveeeee that he only eats meat and is offended by substitutes lol, that makes me giggle 😭 I assume it means Charmy specifically makes meat related dishes to replenish his mana when she figures out her Food Magic - but is / was there there ever conflict between the two because of Sloan’s restricted eating habits?
His hairs being on Nacht’s clothes is just reminding me more of some of Sloan’s other catlike traits and it continues to bring me so much joy 🥹 though I think him being so caring towards birds by feeding them contrasting with that is a funny but wholesome concept.
Manspreading is honestly soooo real, knee contact is just so sweet to me it’s like holding hands without the nasty sweatiness of another persons palm 🙂↕️
Sloan has every right to be possessive of his man tho 🙄✌️

I think it’s super sweet that Sloan notices and comforts Nacht when he’s had those bad dreams. I know when we learnt that he dreams of being in the Grey Deer alongside Yami and Morgen I was like WHAT THE FUCK, HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS SADDER and Sloan definitely tries to help Nacht get rid of his guilt.
Liking having his hair touched is just another cat trait 🙂↔️ I think Nacht liking it too would work well since with how straight it seems the silkiness is probably nice for Sloan to touch.
I know when you did that yumeship template both Sloan and Nacht were birds - but say if they were breeds of cats, what do you think they’d be?
