Sometimes I wonder if one can tell from my prose writing style that I write poetry.
I was rereading my recent works the other day, and noticed that a good chunk of them had a lot of poetical repetitions, as we all as tons similes (flowery comparisons) and accidental smilies/alliterations. And no matter how hard I try to get read of it and make my prose a bit more matter-of-factly, I simply can't, that's not how these sentences form in my head and they don't flow like they should.
So, a little question to you guys: is this actually noticeable or am I inventing something that isn't there?
"the girls and the gays" from non-queer women is often "gay best friend" "i'm not transphobic or homophobic or against lgbt! here, look at this picture of a gay guy i was friends with on my phone! see, here's when he took me with to pride! he was gay! you can see me hanging out with the gay in the photos!" behavior and adding "and 'the theys'" is. well. it sure doesn't make it sound better, that's for sure. also am i the only one or is it uncomfortable to anyone else hearing cis people call people "the theys" or "he/theys and she/theys" and so on? it's just. they say it in a way that's so reminiscent of being called an it or a he-she
