you have a staring problem.
hiromi had noticed it way before your first date.
you were still a legal intern at his firm, and he was your senior attorney. during one of your briefings, hiromi had felt something stabbing at the back of his head. he pauses his speech and turns around to see you staring at him blankly.
...okay, sure. maybe you were listening intently. he shrugs it off and continues.
the next time he noticed how bad your problem actually was, it was when you two had moved in together years later. it was supposed to be romantic, really—your first night as a couple living under one roof, sharing the same bed.
hiromi turned to face you in the middle of the night, trying to find a more comfortable spot to sleep in. when he blearily opens his eyes, he finds you staring at him, unblinking. hiromi pulls your blanket higher to cover your face after.
it's unsettling. not enough to scare him fully, but it is mildly... inconvenient.
the first time hiromi brings it up is during breakfast. you sit across him, chin propped on your palm. staring during the entire meal. halfway though his coffee, hiromi lowers his newspaper.
"...what?" he murmurs.
you blink, before asking back: "what?"
hiromi shifts in his seat.
"you've been staring at me for ten minutes."
you gesture at the food and ask, "is it good? not too salty?"
he glances at the plate of bacon and eggs before shaking his head. "not too salty. it tastes fine."
you nod, pleased.
"..."
hiromi puts his coffee down. "you got your answer," he says. "please stop staring at me."
"but i like looking at you," you explain.
"looking and staring are two different things, sweetheart," hiromi rebuts, pointing at you. "right now, you're staring, and it's creepy."
time passes, and yet nothing changes.
it's a stormy night, and hiromi is in his home office reviewing the last of his documents before bed. just then, the door creaks slowly. when he looks up from the papers in his hand, he finds it slightly ajar.
hiromi sighs and stands up to close it. just as he reaches the knob, his soul leaves when he finds a pair of eyes staring at him.
"the fuck—!"
the door flies open.
you blink up at him, looking all free from any sort of guilt.
"hello," you greet before extending a steaming mug to him. "it's cold. do you want hot choco?"
hiromi clutches his chest, eyes wide from shock. his fist tightens around his shirt as he tries to calm his heart down.
"...sweetheart," he grits out. "how long have you been standing there?"
you shrug. "five minutes and thirty-seven seconds. i didn't want to disturb you, 'romi," you explain, as if staring at your husband while standing motionless in a dark hallway is more considerate.
"thirty-seven—" he shakes his head. then, in exasperation, he says, "...or you could knock like a normal person?"
despite everything, hiromi loves you in all your creepy ways—including your only marital issue: the eeriness of your staring.
he takes the mug of hot chocolate from your hands with a sigh. he takes a sip, his muscles relaxing at the sweet taste of white chocolate and marshmallows.
"thank you."
"you're welcome."
a beat passes. hiromi looks up from the mug.
"you're staring again," he weakly points out.
you tilt your head and say, "i just wanted to see if you like it."
hiromi closes his eyes.
"sweetheart."
"yes?"
"please blink."

It really piss me of me how the JJK fandom reduces Higuruma to "2.0 Nanami" when they have absolutely nothing in common. By doing this, you devalue two very well-written characters; you diminish their depth.
These two are amazing characters, two characters with so much differeces. Don't misrepresent them.
