“I’ve just.. Never been good with babies. They can sense how awkward I am and they judge me. It’s a main reason that I’ve never wanted the whole marriage and kids situation. Uncle time? That’s fun. You can give them back. When you have them yourself there’s.. Too much responsibility. I mean, I could always come pester you and Kitty. She makes the best food.”

“Stiles they’re babies, they can hardly move themselves around let alone judge you. You still don’t want that? I always thought you would change your mind, maybe see me and Kitty having it and want it just a little. I get that though, and you can always come over for uncle time, and well great-uncle time now too. That she does, well you can share the perks of the married family life for as long as you want.”

“It feels like yesterday that I was groaning because you were becoming a Dad and that meant I had to be around babies. They still sorta freak me out, but your little babies grew into some pretty cool kids. Seems insane that the twins are out of highschool.”

“I still don’t know why you were so freaked out dude, I mean Kitty and I were raising them you just got to be the cool uncle. That they did Stiles, I can’t believe it either, we’re gonna really be an empty nest soon even Parker is leaving on tour.”

“i still can’t believe that all of my babies are now high school graduates, where does the time go? i would say it feels like just yesterday that i was changing diapers, but i still am changing them, just for my granddaughter now.”

my babies graduated today. I remember vividly the conversation with Ryder saying, one more, we can handle one more baby let’s do this one more time, and even more vividly I remember the look on his face when the doctor showed us Baby A and Baby B. I’m so proud of my girls and you bet that I was the LOUDEST voice in that auditorium when they were announced.

“I know he’s cool with having a secret relationship with an underage girl, and that speaks volumes.” Kitty pointed out. “I won’t hurt him unless he deserves it, but the very least he owes us a conversation. They both do. Peter what? I assume he has a last name.” Chances of her knowing his family were high. Between all the glee kids she knew and her years of coaching cheerios there weren’t a lot of families she didn’t know in Lima. 

“Fair point, but you and I both know love doesn’t really listen to shit like ages, I know it sounds bad but you know it’s true.” Ryder countered, he knew he wasn’t gonna win but he was gonna put up a damn good fight. “Thank you Kitty, I know they both do. His last name is Anderson, Blaine’s brother Cooper’s son I guess.” He just hoped Lilia could put up a good argument against Kitty, he would support her as well but he also had to back Kitty in this, she had very good points, and of course was his wife, he would always have her back.

Kitty waited, listening as Ryder told her what he’d found out the night before. Their daughter dating a 23 year old. 

“Well, first off, he’s not an awesome guy. He’s just not. He’s a coward. Secondly, how do you know they’re in love? you don’t know the guy. And finally, we need to have a chat with Lilia and whatever his name is.”

“Okay maybe awesome wasn’t my best descriptor, but neither of us know him, the only one that does is Lilia, and when she talks about him, her eyes light up and she can’t stop smiling and she just keeps talking, she’s practically gushing about him Kitty, it’s how you sound when you talk about me. His name is Peter, and before we do, I need a promise they’ll be just talking and no hurting, okay? I know you’re mad, and upset and I get it, but we can’t go in full force because she will just run on us okay?”

“I make no promises. What’s going on, how long have you known and why didn’t you tell me sooner?” Kitty asked, placing her hands on her hips, waiting for him to answer. Kitty would never promise not to hurt someone when it came to her kids. From near beat downs with the parents of school yard bullies, to berating school administrators who dared to be anything less than fair to her kids. 

“Just since last night, I swear, Lils made me promise not to tell you but god, I couldn’t hold it in any longer and with Willa being like that I just, it’s a lot. I guess the best place to start is with Lilia, she’s in a relationship, he’s 23 though, but he treats her very well, he’s an awesome guy from what she’s told me, and they’re really in love Kitty, I know the age difference is a lot, and trust me I was mad at first too, I wish she had told us but she was terrified we would hate her, she’s been torn up about it for months, and Willa hasn’t been making it any better. I guess she found out and has been torturing Lilia about it for months, Lilia came to me sobbing last night she was so distraught because of Willa, I have never seen her that broken Kitty, it almost fucking killed me, I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.” he took in a deep breath as he finally got it all out, a few tears running down his face.
