liza crushes very easily but isn’t always feeling bold enough to act on it for fear of rejection. i wouldn’t say she has any huge crushes so far (partially bc like…where the Gays at) bc she has to get to know people before she falls so right now she just thinks all the girls are hot and is rekt.

what are both characters like in relationships?

alright, well ryder has never been a relationship type of man. given his parents’ rocky relationship that ended in disaster and seeing the distorted image of a happy couple in his father and step-mom, ryder kinda swore off serious girlfriends. all throughout college he would just hook up with girls, a lot of one night stands, maybe see a girl for a week or two but they never lasted because he never committed. but when ryder DOES commit…..(inhales) boi. he tries so fucking hard like when he asked niyah out and he was so nervous though he didn’t admit it. he gets super protective, gets easily jealous, really just wants to find some happiness. the person would have to work at making ryder understand that trust goes both ways, but he would stick around and be willing to try.

and liza…opens her heart waaay too much. in high school it was hard for her to even try to have relationships (especially since she moved across the planet halfway through) but she is sort of a hopeless romantic so she was optimistic. she legit will shower her gf in compliments always leave random gifts or nice messages. she won’t want the other person to ever feel down or alone. she likes affection so she’d constantly hold their hand or touch their shoulder or some small physical contact. liza sometimes opens too much, too fast and it screws her over.

describe ryder's relationship with emma

ryder and emma are pretty much just best friends. they see each other every year at the vineyard and stay in touch throughout the year. he really trusts her and admires her so he takes what she says to heart a lot because he doesn’t trust easily.

what's liza's story?

liza my sweet child... okay so she was raised by a single mom cause her mom was studying abroad when she met this man in boston but when she returned to australia she found out she was pregnant and the guy didn’t want to move so they kind of just agreed that liza would be raised by her mom only. her mom was her bff and number 1 fan throughout life (think rory and lorelai if you watch gg) and the first person liza came out to. her sexuality as never really been a big deal to her, she’s known for most of her life that she’s into girls but her mother’s acceptance meant a huuuuge deal to her. when she was fifteen her mom got diagnosed with cancer real bad, and died within the year. but liza reached out to her father to help pay medical bills and they started to talk and when liza had no where else to go after her mother passed, her father invited her to live with him and his wife and son. liza loves her half brother to death and her and her dad are working on things. once again this was probably too much i just love liza.

what's something both of your characters would never tell anyone else?

ryder would never tell anyone about his dad. a lot of people know that he’s an ass and gives tough love but like, ryder would never tell anyone that his dad can be much much worse than that. he doesn’t like people taking on his problems. 

and liza honestly doesn't have any secrets? she probably wouldn't tell most people about her mother cause then she would have to explain her move from sydney to boston and explain why she feels so disconnected from her family and yeah. her mother is a sensitive topic in general.
