Happy Superman Day.

I have a lot of feelings about Superman. I have been fortunate enough to put all of my feelings about Superman in a book, GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN, which I made with @ryehickman and @longtalljodie (It will be in stores in two weeks or so)

I keep trying to find words for everything I am feeling and failing. Maybe there aren't any.

Every day seems bring some new horrible news for trans people, but I wrote a comic where a trans girl hangs out with Superman and saves the world, and now I get to hold it in my hands.

I have news.

Y'all remember Galaxy: As the World Falls Down, right? YA graphic novel about teen Galaxy by me, @ryehickman and Jodie Troutman. Simultaneous sequel to Galaxy: The Prettiest Star (by me, Vash Taylor and Ariana Maher) and Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story (by Nicole Maines, Rye, Bex Glendining and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou). Stars Galaxy, but also has her best pal Dreamer in there as well. Comes out May 5th.

A week before that hits stores, there's Justice League Intergalactic Special. You remember that one, too, right? A double-sized one shot with Galaxy, Dreamer, Star Sapphire, Adam Strange and Green Arrow on a mission in outer space. By me, Nicole, Travis Moore, Tamra Bonvillain and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. Okay, here's the news: Justice League Intergalactic leads into Justice League: Dream Girls -- A DC Pride Event, a 4-issue miniseries that will be released every week in June! Its about Galaxy and Dreamer and the Justice League and old Justice League villain The Key and its by me, Nicole, Brand&Stein, Nicola Scott, J Bone, Stephen Sadowski, Vincent Cecil, Mikel Janin, Rosi Kämpe and so many others. All of these stories are connected, all of these stories are full of big, beautiful queer and trans feelings and all of these stories are wonderful. I can't wait for you to read them!

Heyo! Do you happen to have any queer sci-fi comic recs? I’m a huge fan of your work and I’d love to read more stuff that’s similar! Have a good day!

Hell yeah! Here's some good ones:

Finder is possibly my favorite comic series of all time. Experimental in all the best ways and chock full of incredibly deep sci-fi worldbuilding. The series has been collected in two beefy library volumes.

Cosmoknights has two books out with a third to come. I love it for the GORGEOUS art as well as the absolutely wonderful character interactions. Also, you can go read it for free as a webcomic if you'd prefer: https://www.cosmoknights.space/

Across a Field of Starlight is a stand-alone book with some beefy hard sci-fi elements that I really like. It also explores the ripple effects of colonialism and war on a personal level that is fun to think about even after you're done reading.

Galaxy the Prettiest Star is THE trans-self-discovery book. Vash Taylor's art is just INCREDIBLY beautiful, and the story hit me in my heart. It is also the least superhero superhero book I have ever read.

(AND, I'm drawing the sequel. So there will be a book two in spring 2026! I'm a ridiculously lucky person.)

Also if you haven't read TEST, by me and Christopher Sebela (with colors by Harry Saxon and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou) you'd probably like it.

I've been waiting so long to talk about this, and I finally got the go-ahead! GALAXY: THE PRETTIEST STAR is getting a sequel, GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN! The adventures of teen Galaxy will continue 5/5/26, by me and the spectacular @ryehickman!

There's going to be a big announcement in a few weeks with all sort of juicy details on what it's about. But those who have read HAWKGIRL: ONCE UPON A GALAXY may have a clue...

For those wondering where this book fits in Galaxy continuity, here's the chronological order:

GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN takes place at of the end of the same summer in BAD DREAM: A DREAMER STORY which is another reason why its so great to have Rye drawing it!

I am so proud of this book, y'all. Rye is firing on all cylinders and I think its the best thing I've ever written.
