everyone points out how demoman should have his eye grow back when he gets hit with the medigun(to the point the comics even do an entire scene where medic explains why he can’t replace demoman’s eye) but nobody asks why the medigun doesn’t make engie’s hand grow back

theory: i think the non-mvm medigun cant regenerate organs/limbs it can heal cuts, wounds or cavities etc. it can heal heavy's open chest because the organs are still present(note that he had to insert the heart, didnt regen it) and all the medigun needs to do is connect the tissue.

I think MVM medigun would regen engie's hand because its shown completely able to revive someone from the dead and gather the pieces. Although i think it can do this because the functionality is part of the revive thingimajig he places on the ground. However note that, at least in the animated mvm videos, the revival doesnt make new limbs but rather yoinks them from the ground and reattaches them.

so my take is that engie's hand IS effected by the medigun, its just really far away since he cut it off and presumably dunked it in the trash.
