I LOVE. S5. Coroika I love s5 that’s all I care about hi. I’ll probably be posting mostly coroika but it depends on how I’m feeling….and by coroika I mean s5!!!!!!! I love s5…I may draw other splatoon stuff sometimes idk

Every time I see a take about how coroika is poorly written or executed i genuinely roll my eyes bc? 😭😭😭😭

Hinodeya’s job was to make a comedy manga for kids based on Splatoon. And she made a comedy manga based on Splatoon. Like yes compared to the actual game I’m not gonna sit here and tell you it’s the most well written piece of literature ever conceived but I think more people should definitely consider that some things don’t exist to be a beautifully written masterpiece, sometimes they exist to just to entertain or spread an easily digestible message, which I thought would be common sense considering it’s literally FOR KIDS OH MY GOD

Ik people want more out of a manga for splatoon but idk i find it fun to reapply the games depth where it doesn’t exist in the manga it makes it so fun and interesting

And also I feel like idk if ur pushing 20 like yeah it’s not gonna be that great have u considered that you’re not the target audience?? This is mostly for some people just in general who put the manga down bc it’s too stupid or whatever

And like trust me I’m not one to be like this media is exempt from criticism bc u simply aren’t who it’s for! But idk if it’s fucking Mickey Mouse clubhouse then like yeah 😭😭😭I’m gonna think that 😭😭😭

Idk I have so much to say about this I think it’s so annoying and pretentious but I do also understand wanting more from the manga it’s just that I think sometimes it’s too harshly judged for a manga that does exactly what it was made to do 🤔🤔

I would also like to mention that I originally read this book exactly 3 days after I turned 8 years old, and I was hooked as soon as goggles got naked bc I thought it was the funniest thing I’ve genuinely ever seen. I’m now 16 and I still think this book is entertaining and funny as fuck idc 🥹

Guys s5 please s5 s5 s5 please omg my tomodachi life s5 lives together but im so sad bc poly isn’t an option…anyways skullami and alomask got together and they both had kids and I was sad that they couldn’t all be the parents BUT turns out you CAN set 5 different people as the parents to one Mii so yay!!! Their daughters names are Nicky and Naomi (i just let them name them whatever…besides the facial features everything else was randomized) they’re so cute oh em gee

I feel like they don’t look s5 enough ik they were randomized with the traits of only two of them but I changed it enough to hopefully represent all five parents….anyways I’ll draw them eventually

is it me or do you feel like Hinodeya is unfairly shafting the S4? I don't want them to disband but nothing worries me more than people hinting about it.

I will say!!! I’m tired of them losing…they are never getting out of semifinal hell apparently…unfortunately tho I know them winning doesn’t serve any purpose atm besides s4 vs xblood…

And as for the second half!!! I really can’t see a reason for them to like. disband…? I don’t even know what that would mean bc don’t they disband when they fight with their og teams? idk Also the label s4 was just like. A title they were given by I guess just the general public so they can’t really see them officially disbanding AS the s4 bc like. Well there’s four of you…and you’re all s+ still….YKWIM? Like they can just choose to not battle together again but I still wouldn’t truly call that disbanding….plus I can’t see Hinodeya doing that…bc that would have to be like a big plot thing and unfortunately our plot cannot be centered around non-splatsville ppl rn (which is why they lost in the first place duh!) idk I have a lot of thoughts on this but overall I don’t think they’re gonna disband bc I don’t even know how that would work since they DO belong to their respective teams unlike old team purple, and they only started to team up bc emperor asked once…(ty emp) and the title s4 is still gonna be what they’re called bc. They were called that before teaming up too…like they’re just the s4 lowkey…also I really do think Hinodeya likes them too much to do this idk

Here are my coroika age hcs 🤔🤔

The characters I ship for the most part are like one fart closer in age but since I’m a multishipper I made it to where my other ships work out too ykwim…there was a certain age range I wanted characters to be in and just a general who's older who’s younger….okay

Also the splatsville characters are like around the same ages as rider and all of them (excluding mitsuami she’s like. Ummmmm 17-19 idk bruh.)

Something I think is a little funny is that coroika ages is always such a huge controversy thing in the fandom when it really doesn’t need to be…and on top of that it’s always for the wrong reasons like I ALWAYS hear that everyone except EMP is like 14-17 and never ages. And everyone polices rlly hard on what people do with every character but him and his teammates (excluding Prince of course) and like. I BEG. The coroika fandom to watch the official dvd thing PLEASE. It kinda makes a point to have rider and since we hear aloha and army im just going to assume the rest of the s4 as well are probably. Adults 😭😭😭 and if them and their teammates sound that grown im gonna assume the same for the rest of the cast that happens to be “omg this player is super duper experienced!” rider genuinely sounds 40 😭😭I’m sure characters like gloves and Hachi and probably Prince would be canonically around the same age as team blue if I were to try and make an educated guess!

I don’t think I worded this exactly how I wanted and I have more to say but ultimately I think people need to think more before they attack people in the coroika fandom bc 9 times out of 10 it’s just loud and wrong. The canon dub gives a lot of insight to character age ranges (more specifically just. Teen or adult) and while I acknowledge the dub idrc what people hc the ages as if they’re not being weird! The dub gives some useful insight but tbh idrc if people just flat out ignore it and make them younger (i do this too) or older just don’t harass people or point fingers bc im sorry I think people are lowkey justified either way….no confirmed ages….the dub makes the first couple rivals sound like adults….all adults in Splatoon lowkey just look like that….DUDE IVE seen so many people be like “they don’t look like adults!” NO SPLATOON CHARACTER DOES IM 😭😭😭 every coroika character looks older than pearl houzuki and she’s abt to be 30 don’t play with me rn 😭

Like bruh the dub is old so like it’s okay to ignore it I think but also people have a canon basis for at least believing some of the rivals are older? Like some of those ppl who get on everyone for being weird abt minor characters probably ship the more popular ships? So like for example gorai. And it’s like okay well if u wanna be like that go watch the dub and tell me rider is the same age as him you genuinely cannot😭😭😭

I truly CANNOT articulate how I wanna talk about this bc i acknowledge the dub and all the stuff in the books that could point toward any ages and it’s like part of the foundation of my headcanons (but not quite I don’t think they match up but they don’t interfere either) I wouldn’t ever police someone for ages bc at the end of the day esp for coroika it just doesn’t matter and idc what people do with the characters as long as ur not like im they’re 2 and I’m gonna draw weird stuff or if ur like this is my age hc and I’m gonna be mean abt it….like i intentionally made them all closer in age bc that just makes sense to me
