Jack is the same kind of pretty that made Ryan pick flowers for girls in kindergarten and craft scratchy paper cards with messily glued hearts on Valentine’s. It would make less sense not to have a little crush on him

Jack travels across Europe just to see JJ. Which could mean nothing.

JJ quirks a brow, then gives a tiny shake of his head. “Be my friend first. Then maybe I will let you see.” Jack swallows hard and gives a little nod, trying his hardest not to let the hurt gathering in his chest creep up into his throat the way it wants to. He won’t let it choke him.

In Calgary, Mattias scored and Buffalo lost. Jack is there, like always.

this season is a drag, and bo can't believe he was ever excited to be traded here. in his dreams, things are different. and he can't help but care for someone he's never met.

Again thank you to everyone who participated in the fest this year! We hope it inspired at least some of you to finish your long-standing fics or write for a couple you never have before. Who knows....we may be back soon!

FEST UPDATE

Sign-ups and assignments are now due on Wednesday, October 15th at 7 PM ET! We did this after overwhelming response in the Discord asking for just a little more time to finish fics. So do with this time what you will!

This one’s for all of you who haven’t started yet or who have started yet. Who have started and have come to a standstill, or who haven’t started and come to a standstill. Or, those who just want a bit of a fun and/or torturous hour!

A sprint is a period of time where you focus on adding to your word count! It can be less about finesse and more about an overwhelming time pressure forcing you to Get Words Down On That Page. Helpful if you need a little kick! Also oddly sweet when you do it with others, knowing that somewhere else in this world, others are going through the same pain. And so:

welcome to the 'it's a buffalo and two sabres' fic fest!

modded by @three-headed-monster, @qicktrick, and @qui22, this fest was created with the goal of increasing the number of fanfics being written about the lovely buffalo sabres hockey team!

the fest will take the form of a prompt meme, where participants can submit and claim various prompts to complete. it will also be an opportunity, though, for writers to finish any longstanding wips that may be related to the sabres.

more rules and important dates will be posted throughout the next week, but sign-ups will open on may 9th. they will remain open until the end of the month on may 31st. unlike our playoff drought though, the fest will not go on forever, and will end on october 1st. the collection for the fics will be available throughout this time, for writers to post their prompt claims and completed wips.
