Philosophical moment brought on by feeling moderately healthy for the first time in 10+ days (and not writing a word during it)…
People are like space.
Meetings. Partings. Love and friendship.
Sometimes we’re meteoroids. We flash bright and hot the second we come into contact with someone only to disappear into nothing more than a fond memory.
Sometimes we’re comets. Orbiting widely. Only returning once in a while but spectacularly when we do.
Orbits in general… Has there ever been a more tragically romantic notion? Two bodies locked together, never touching, never crossing into the others world. Because if they did it would be catastrophic.
Take two magnificent things and when they collide it reaps their mutual destruction.
But, even then, it’s not all bad.
Because from the dust and rock a new planet is sometimes formed, if the gravity pulling all the chaos together is strong enough.
And, happier still, orbits can also be wonderful. Two things, or more even, linked together in eternity. Always moving in step. Always there.
Yes people are like space. Because our hearts hold the cosmos.
