In Absence of Vigor || w. saccharineprodigy
By all means.. Keeping such a young, and attractive woman stuck here in confinement was the last thing L wanted to do, but it was needed. In the end, she was someone whom Kira knew, and if he could get her to talk, or even give a sliver of information. Then the detective would have more leads to work with.
Yet.. She seemed to refuse to say anything. With that, L stepped into the room and spoke up.
❝ Miss Misa, I would like to ask you again who is Kira, he is slaughtering lives in ways no one can yet firmly grasp, I understand you are afraid of getting hurt, however if you help us, we can promise safety. This fight against Kira has nothing to do with you.❞
There were hunches, ideas, possibilities. But no one was certain. The idea of a killer book seemed fictional.
Silence.
Silence is the only answer he is able to obtain. It was not as though she was an amateur when it came to lies. The blonde was able to deliver falsehoods and deceive those around her, facing no more of a struggle than she would when reciting lines from a script before an audience.
It would be so easy to take on the role of the naive victim who wants nothing more than to return to her lover’s sweet embrace and live a normal life with him…
However, should she voice so much as a even a single contradictory statement- no, contradictory word, (knowing the identity of her captor, he would surely notice the smallest slip-up, however seemingly menial) everything that Kira, that Light Yagami, has worked to attain would come crashing down Of course, it would be even easier to simply tell L everything she knew, and walk away unscathed… But her resolve was firm and her loyalty was unwavering.
She would rather face
PAIN, SUFFERING, even DEATH itself,
rather than betray Light…
There are many types of people who would not stand for this sort of treatment, chaining people up like this, but more importantly. Many people would go as far as to torture the arrested to gain information. L was not that type of person. He felt like he could outsmart her before even thinking of laying a hand on a woman in a way that would otherwise be seen as wrong.
As he got close enough, his voice took on a calm one, a tone that sounded as if he was telling the truth.
❝ Here is the deal Misa. If you confirm our suspicions on who Kira is, we can let you go without anything happening. No news agency has been informed of your arrest, and more importantly your public image is safe. Our leads are strong against this man Kira. So if you give us his real name, I can promise you that you will be safe from his evil hands.❞
That was it, L would hope and pray that some false claims would trip her up, such as taking the first leads he had, that Kira was a male, and someone she knew.
