Trial 1.1 || Sachio || He, who doesn’t scowl [Re: Atria, Colt]
The boy sat behind his table, drumming his fingers against the smooth surface as he waited for what he assumed to be the ‘big debate’ to proceed. Big meetings like this were never a comfortable situation for him, but then nothing about this tower was exactly meant to be comfortable. A lot of good all those years of preparation did, huh? Regardless, he closed his eyes, and took a moment to breathe. The room, while a gloomy setting, especially compared to the earlier lush fields and active fauna, was cool and calm to his liking, if maybe just a bit much that it was borderlining dead. Not so bad. Not the worst, anyway. Especially given the headache this conversation had already begun to induce. He found a pause between the others’ words to state his piece.
“Well, I don’t know how it was like when you lot were there, but the puzzle we found– and, hey, you were the one who found it yourself, fella” He motions to colt “– was pretty damn simple. It pretty much outright told you which door was the best to pick. Nothin’ more than a simple word game. ‘Course, apparently we had to fight a couple of those zombified old guys since we kindly had the help of confirming which doors were no good. Apparently.”
It was still a mystery to him why the room didn’t need to be as easy as just stepping in and opening the right door in the first place, but this tower wasn’t their territory to control.
“Anyway, the ‘best’ door had the clue inside of it. Friend over there got a little distracted and wanted to play with the flare gun what came out of the second door, but, yeah. The prize was practically handed over on a silver platter.”
Sachio wondered how many other puzzles might have gone unsolved throughout the floor, or how many there were in the first place. His line of sight drifted, unconsciously feeling a bit of embarrassment from goofing off.
“So what does that tell us? The traitor is a woman and… what? Likes the outdoors? Come on, think of what else you got. We can’t stand around all day on just knowin’ it’s a lady. Zombie lady? The weapons from the battle room’re all pretty explosive. Firey lady? I know I wasn’t lookin’ around much, but this can’t be too hard”
Leaning onto his table, he sighed, and forced a weak smile.
“All considering”
