Welcome to Sacred Prophecies! 

This blog tells the story of Rowan, a Pokemon trainer looking to restore the Burned Tower to its former glory. In Rowan’s world, the relationship between Pokemon and people is breaking down...however, Rowan wishes for nothing more than reconfirm that Pokemon and people can live in harmony. They dream for a world where Lugia can eventually return to roost at the tower.

mamoru straightens up, looking even more annoyed. what’s the deal here? he feels like he’s being tugged around on a leash, and even more annoying is that it’s partly his own fault, too. grimacing, he rubs his paws over his face.

“i think… we’re doing this all wrong,” he grumbles eventually. he has a feeling he’s going to regret this. “let’s just. start over. i’m mamoru. and you’re charon, right? why don’t you just… tell me how you guys know yuta, and why yuta thinks your trainer is so great. and then you can ask me something. how’s that?” in all honesty, mamoru isn’t very interested in getting to know charon more than he has to - he just wants to avoid the topic of evolution if he can. then again, yuta seems to want him to make friends, especially with one of his own kind. he’s not entirely happy about it, but it’s a start, of sorts.

Charon stares at the other typhlosion, taking in Mamoru’s words and body language.

“You, what?” He stumbles, surprised by the immediate resignation.

“Where’s Dialga to turn back time on this conversation...” Charon thinks. “What an idiot I am. The first time I meet someone like me and I can’t even say what I mean.”

“I’m sorry,” Charon speaks up, bowing his head. “Truly.”

“I-,” he cuts himself off, carefully trying to course correct. “I’ll leave you before I manage to screw up this conversation even more than I already have.”

mamoru tenses up, a paw clenched in annoyance. for a moment it looks like his heat vents begin to spark, but nothing comes of it.

in the end, he shuts his eyes and lets out a sigh, the stiffness leaving his body with each breath. just a little longer, he tells himself. just a little longer until he can finally rest. when he opens his eyes again, he looks so very tired.

“well then, what do you want to know?” he asks in resignation. it’s not like he has anything else to lose. “you can psychoanalyze me all you want, if that’ll make you happy.”

(sacred-prophecies) Shiro bows respectfully to Ginjiro as they approach Genji. "I hope you don't mind my presence, I understand you do important work for your Sensei. Could you tell me more about what you do?"

“Oh…Uh… I assist with Sensei’s duties. And ensure there is peace within his sanctuary...”

“That sounds rewarding,” Shiro smiles at the zoroark. “Your Sensei must appreciate all that you do for him.”

“I get it,” Charon scoffs. “You don’t want to make any friends. What’s the point if there’s a chance you could just lose them again, huh? To become who you are today, a ghost-type like me, it’s not all sunshine and roses.”

“It all makes sense,” the typhlosion continues, ghostly flames sparking alight. “You’re afraid. You think by not getting close to anyone else, you can hide away and prevent yourself from being hurt again.”

Charon pauses, suddenly covering his face in surprise. His flames disappear as quickly as they came.

“Oh, dear!” He chuckles nervously. “There I go, running my mouth again! How rude of me and here I’m supposed to be playing nice. I’d never force a friendship, but I’d welcome getting to know you more.”

(sacred-prophecies) Shiro approaches the Flaaffy. "Are you and Lugia okay?" They ask with concern. "Let me know if I can help at all!"

Aunt susie jumps down and sighs. "well no Lugia is injured and poisoned....and my child...i let my child and nephew.... go out their ....and now they still haven't returned..."

Lugia ponders for a bit before stating. "go."

"WHAT! and leave you here alone!"

"i am not alone. As you can see wanders from another place have found their way to us more and more come to our aid, besides who knows what trouble the two could have ran into and they have what we need anyhow, pecha berries and medicinal leaks, so go! go now!"

"...no...just give me at least a second to look over your wounds okay.."

"Very well but you must leave post haste"

the typhlosion stares at charon with a deadpan expression, then turns away without saying a word. flustered by his cold behaviour, yuta looks between the two of them and starts waving their arms in a panic.

“i-i’ve met charon when he was just a cyndaquil, i assure you he’s nice!” yuta tries, but when mamoru shows no sign of responding, they turn to charon instead with a hopeful smile.

“i’m sorry, charon, mamoru is, um… w-well, it just takes him a bit to warm up to strangers. i think you two can get along though, so i’ll entrust him to you, okay?”

mamoru reacts to that, his eyes narrowing and ear flicking in annoyance. he tosses a glance over his shoulder and grumbles softly.

“don’t think this’ll make us friends or anything.”

I feel that way with Mega Evolution. It’s definitely something I want to get better at, but in the few times I’ve used it, it feels exactly as you described your evolutions…

[The Garchomp pauses, looking away from her Garchompite before a small smile etches on her face.]

But! I’d think your trainer appreciates you all being there when you were. And if somehow they weren’t, at least you all have each other.

Teams go through many things together, heartaches and losses and hard times. But you all still have each other.

“No matter what happens next, I won’t forget that day.”

“At first, it was like time stood still,” the Goodra continues. “Rowan had been, they were...” She frowns at Draco, trying to piece together her words. “It came out of nowhere, we had no way of expecting such a strong opponent.”

“Anyway, I was clearly in shock. I wasn’t thinking, I’m not sure any of us were. Next thing I knew I felt an overwhelming surge of power.”

“Me and the others, we all stood our ground,” Xanthe says. “I think our evolutions surprised our foe. The next thing we knew, it had slipped back into the shadows from where it came.”

“I still feel like I failed Rowan that day. I think we all do. What’s the point in being a team if you can’t protect one another?”

“Ah hah, but you don’t need to worry,” Xanthe smiles but it doesn’t quite reach her eyes. “Anyway, who knew Pokemon could evolve multiple times all at once? I barely had a chance to know what it felt like to be a Sliggoo.”

“Hmph,” Momiji huffs, upset with Bai’s response. “I, you’re right...I don’t think I would have come out otherwise. But I’ll see your true appearance one day...”

“I hope we can get to know one another to the point you would feel comfortable showing me.” She says quietly.

“Let’s get back to Yuta and Rowan, I guess it’s a good thing you found me anyway. I don’t think I like the sound of being exorcised...” Momiji lets out a nervous laugh.

The two walk back towards their trainers, surprised when they hear a loud sigh from Rowan. “Charon, please...” they overhear Rowan implore.

Momiji immediately lets out a sigh of her own, glancing between Charon, Rowan, Bai, and another typhlosion. “Ugh, now is not a good time. I’m going to head back to the tower. I, I’m glad we had the opportunity to talk. Please let Yuta know I mean no harm...” 

The young zorua returns to the tower, leaving Bai and the two typhlosion behind.

“Isn’t this a surprise~!” Charon hums, completely ignoring Rowan’s pleas. “I don’t recall Yuta having a typhlosion. It sucks to see you’re like me, but it’s a pleasure regardless. I’m Charon, I’m sure you couldn’t have missed it from Rowan. You are?”

(sacred-prophecies) "Are you doing okay now?" Rowan asks Nat worriedly. "What was that pokemon anyway? Xurkitree was it called? Do you know what it might have been doing around here? I've never seen such a pokemon before... "

As for your other question...Xurkitree is something called an Ultra Beast. It comes from another dimension, through wormholes that connect with our world.

The only thing I can think of that makes the most sense with the most evidence to back it up, is that it's because we're closer to Alola than any other region. Alola always has these wormholes open up in its general space, so it'd be pretty likely for some to open up over here. For all I know, my ancestors probably saw this happen a lot too.

“i guess it was silly of me to assume hisui was the only place spirits like us could thrive…” bai muses, surveying the tower more closely now. “if it’s this important, then i hope it can reach its completion, for both your and rowan’s sake.”

on a lighter note, bai nods in both their trainers’ direction.

“i’ll be sure to let yuta know you’re already spoken for, then. knowing them, they’re probably going to want to purify the place, which means they might try to exorcise you,” they say with a chuckle. however, bai’s smile turns stiff as soon as they find themselves on the other end of momiji’s intense stare.

bai takes a cautious step back, as if being too close to momiji would give them away.

“err, well, you know, as a zorua, you should know better than to trust your eyes when it comes to us, yeah? and besides, i bet you wouldn’t have come out of hiding if i didn’t look like this, right?” bai says, starting to inch away back towards their trainers. “anyways, i don’t go around revealing myself to just anyone, you know. maybe if you’re lucky, i’ll show you what i actually look like someday, hm? haha…”

“Rowan and I...” Momiji’s fur swishes angrily, spiteful energy briefly surrounding her. “We didn’t exactly get off on the right foot.”

“Hearing you talk about them and Yuta now, I never should have misunderstood them...I, this tower is everything to me. Something about it, I feel like this is the only thing tying me to this world. When Rowan came to restore the tower, I had no idea what they were planning.”

“I was angry at the disruption and made myself well known, I wasn’t kind. But Rowan never stopped. Over time I realized what they were doing and we slowly became closer. I regret what I did...seeing Rowan’s hard work gives me hope for the future.” Momiji looks over at Rowan, a soft smile hidden beneath her fur.

“But you,” she turns the conversation back to Bai. “You said ‘I was a zorua.’”

“What do you mean? Was a zorua? Are you not a zorua right now?” This seems to be a sticking point in the conversation for Momiji. What does he mean?

“they met in sinnoh, where we’re from. that was a while ago now,” bai reminisces with a smile. “i’ve never seen a human as curious as yuta until rowan. they’re still just as awkward around each other as they are now.” they snicker, glancing back at the humans in question.

“yuta wanted to improve their skills outside of sinnoh, and they chose johto because the culture is somewhat similar. so we sailed across the ocean on the back of a giant fish,” they continue casually before shifting to a more curious tone. “though i’m also surprised to see another zorua like me in a different region. how did you meet rowan in the first place?”
