This was my previous url, now it's being used to show art I have commissioned from others. None of the art posted here is drawn by me. Sideblog to esmeral.
This blog is a showcase for artwork I have commissioned from artists, in some cases been gifted, or otherwise earned. If I commission artwork, I try to ask for permission to post it with full credit, but I am going to assume I already have that right with my purchase. If art is gifted to me, I will never post it without permission. If your work is on here and you want me to take it down or have it discredited, try to contact me privately.
I do not repost work that the artist publishes on tumblr, that will be reblogged instead. If I have reposted something of yours in error, please contact me.
I frequently respond to comments made under these works, but I do not expect conversation in turn.
I do commission NSFW pieces, but they will not be showcased here. You will either have to find them in the wild or contact me for a link.
This is not a personal blog. I may converse with commenters, but my personal blog is @esmeral. You will not find any post that isn't related to the artwork in some way. If I feel something is too off topic, I'll move it to my personal.
Firecycle full design, alt mode, root mode, and all, by @theangrycomet-art! Plus additional notes giving us more details about how she transforms! Thank you so much for the hard work, I've been wanting to give this gal more attention.
Firecycle is another obscure G1 character who never really made it past the production stages, along with Whirlpool. She was labelled the "medic-mechanic", both a capable surgeon who could repair any injury, as well as a mechanic who could "turn a toaster into a fighting machine" (which sure implies something about what she does in her spare time). She could reach speeds up to 150 miles an hour, make a half mile long jump, and climb walls.
Her weakness lied in how seriously she takes her medic oath, "do all in your power to help all things survive." While she has all the weapons and capabilities to take on her foes, she lacks the willingness to make use of them. Often times, she will tend to a Decepticon's injury because she cannot stand the sight of them in pain.
I think it is unfortunate that she, alongside Whirlpool, never really escaped that rough draft, because Firecycle would be a great medic character for Elita One's team. Her weakness might or might not need tweaking, given her situation, but she fills a role Elita's team needs that isn't easily filled by another character. I have seen others try with Greenlight and Lancer, but I think Firecycle gives the two of them room to breathe in other roles while she is the team medic. I hope to commission more work that conveys her filling that role in the future.
Thanks again to @theangrycomet-art! Links and references are below. theangrycomet also drew Whirlpool here.
This is Firecycle's bio page, which can be found in this document hosted on The Sunbow Marvel Archive. You can also find Whirlpool in this document.
Unlike Whirlpool, Firecycle did not have a design we could base her design off of, so theangrycomet did a lot of legwork in designing her based off of a few references I provided here.
The above are EMT motorcycles meant for navigating high traffic areas to reduce response time, which became the basis for Firecycle's alt mode.
Groove, a Protectobot, was also used as inspiration, as he is a motorcycle in G1 as well.
I just want to make it additionally clear that none of the art hosted here is mine. All of this art is created by someone else, all so far commissioned, with credits given on each post. Please check out the artist's pages and their works!
"Praxus. This... was my home, y'know. Before." - Prowl, The War Within #1, Dreamwave.
"It was the last day he had spent in Praxus, the city he called home. The last good day. The perfect day..." Bluestreak's perspective, Transformers: Hardwired, Dreamwave.
I think Dreamwave giving Prowl and Bluestreak the same home of Praxus was the best decision they ever made. The shared trauma of losing something so important to them, which was so hated by Megatron he wiped it off the face of Cybertron, has so much potential for character dynamics and exploration. Bluestreak being the sole survivor Prowl finds after searching for anything remaining of his home lends to fascinating character history together and I love it any time I see it.
I imagine this specific moment as occurring immediately upon Bluestreak being found, with him and Prowl sharing the horrible moment together that will define the rest of their lives.
Art commissioned from @fonpyr! This is incredible, you really brought the angsty idea to life, thank you!
Praxus's destruction from Hardwired below, from the perspectives of Bluestreak and Megatron.
Edit: I have also added the page from Dreamwave's The War Within #1 where Prowl talks about Praxus.
Art commissioned from @resunke! This is outstanding, thank you so much for the work!
First Aid/Sideswipe! It's another ship my friend and I developed in RP, entirely by accident. Sideswipe stole First Aid's mask as a bit of a prank, then First Aid made a flirtatious remark and it snowballed from there, with neither of them relenting until it led to this. They're very cute together, though still figuring things out.
Art done by @beriuos (bluesky link)! Thank you for this, she looks amazing!
More Moonracer for the world! Here she is in all her amazing confidence. The pose was chosen for me based off a description I provided, and I am very happy with what I got.
Art done by @theangrycomet-art! Thanks again, she looks incredible!
Whirlpool! She's an obscure G1 character, one of Sunbow's teams many attempts at putting female character into their Transformers show before finally succeeding with Elita's team. Unfortunately, she along with Firecycle did not make it past the draft stages, while others were genderbent (Sideswipe, Ratchet, Starscream). Whirlpool stands out to me as a female Decepticon and a female triplechanger (or, quadchanger?), the latter of which would not be a thing until Stardrive (as far as I am aware). She also interests me as a former Autobot turned Decepticon, as we seldom get these stories.
Unlike Firecycle, we already had a decent idea of what Whirlpool looks like thanks to Chris McFeely showing someone her design, so it was just a matter of buffing her up and looking more like a triple-changer. Firecycle will be much tougher, as no concept design of her exists, but I do plan to commission a design for her in the near future so something is out there.

If you are interested in the draft where Sideswipe was female, that is in this document, hosted on The Sunbow Marvel Archive.
If you are interested in the draft where Starsceeam was female, that is in the same document as Sideswipe's, hosted on The Sunbow Marvel Archive.
If you are interested in the bio where Ratchet was female, here is what I have from the TfWiki's page for Ratchet. I have seen people say that Firecycle was what Ratchet originally was before he was genderbent, I have seen nothing to indicate this is true. Ratchet and Firecycle were conceived as and appear to be separate characters, possibly created by different people (with Jeffrey Scott creating Firecycle, and Bob Budiansky creating Ratchet, though I cannot confirm the former). TfWiki describes the image source as such so you may investigate it yourselves, as I have not looked that deeply into it.
"Close-up of Bob Budiansky's original handwritten bio for Ratchet, describing him as a her, from the Shout! Factory featurette Into the Creation Matrix: A Conversation With Bob Budiansky."
Commissioned from @mellliow! Thanks again for this, this is exactly the father/son dynamic I wanted!
God Ginrai and Godbomber! I RP both of them, and choose to play them as their own living beings rather than needing humans to pilot them (I know this happens at the end of Masterforce too). I thought the funniest answer to where Godbomber came from was Ginrai had a cryptic pregnancy that attached to his trailer upgrade. Surprise child! It gives me a cute father/son dynamic while also exploring Ginrai needing to become more responsible as duties pile on him.
Can also be interpreted as human Ginrai giving Shuta, Cab, and Minerva a piggyback ride in their transtectors! My intention doesn't exclude that interpretation at all. Hope everyone enjoys!
Drawn by @compaculaaa! You made good on your word when you said you'd make him the cutest baby ever, thanks again!
Baby Quickswitch! I have a liking for the character in general, I think there's potential to be had with him being Sixshot's son and how that impacts both of their lives. These commissions are just baby shenanigans: mildly disgruntled Quickswitch being woken up from a nap, and Quickswitch running to his father with so much love. The drama can come later.
Commissioned from @resunke! He's very cute, thanks again!
Bluestreak! I have a headcanon that before the fall of his home, he wore one of his unused color schemes that actually fits his namesake. After the destruction of his home and formally joining the Autobot rebellion, he changed his color scheme. Here, he is young and innocent and nothing bad happened to him yet.
Art commissioned from @resunke! Thanks again, she's cute.
Lyzack! I needed art of her for a discord icon, I didn't want to use uncolored manga panels because it makes me forget she's teal and not green. Color was picked directly from Wings universe panels.
Commissioned from @resunke! The pastels were a cute choice, thank you again!
Astrotrain/Moonracer. It's a rarepair that happened between me and a friend in RP, with only one other fanart and one fanfic involving them that I have found. I'll be hoarding more when I next get the opportunity. I just wanted something cute and sweet between them.
Art commissioned from @theangrycomet-art! Thanks again!
Moonracer again, but in makeup! Of all the female Autobots, I feel she is the most likely to actually make use of makeup, rather than do so just because she is a woman. Her bio in the episode's script states she is "very proud of her sleek Cybertronian physique", and the same script showed she owns a handheld mirror. I described it as being similar to Windblade's facepaint, and theangrycomet took inspiration from that and made various patterns on her face.
