Aemond fans really hate confronting the fact he's a coward.
He was a coward and a dumbass in the book. He's a coward and a dumbass in the show, only difference he's quiter about it in the show.
He attacks lucerys, simply because he knows lucerys is no real competition, on dragon back or in a fight, he as always only targets the weak like when he hit jace with a rock and approached him even when he was down, or when he called rhaena a pig and hit girls who had no combat training. He was always the bully.
Then he attacks lucerys, from behind both in book and show, and in show kills him by accident because he couldn't control his dragon, worse he didn't know it can kill.
Then he attacks his own brother, mind you there's an enemy tangled with him, instead he secures his own position, then again attacks rhaenys through a sneak attack.
In book, both aegon and aemond attacks at once, while aemond loses control of his fire and burns his own brother, incompetent all around.
Now he hs to face up to someone his own size and in the open, what does he do? Run
A coward through and through.
