hi old muse, time to revamp you lol
"N-no, miss, I’m just arrived here…" Rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, I-I’m a traveler if you want to…"
He knew now that a village should be nearby by the female’s statement. Hopefully they wouldn’t mind for him barging through the courtyard unannounced.
"A traveler?!" Now she was excited to hear this stranger was an actual travel. Thoughts of asking him so many question was already swarming her mind as she smiled with delight before she begin.
"Where are you from? What is it like? What's traveling like-- oh!" She stopped herself as she realized she was running on with questions. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ask so many questions."
"No, I’m afraid not." Wyatt said as he watched her. "Well, I’ve heard of some practices that would be considered similar to this, but nothing this…. well, detailed." he wasn’t exactly sure how to even word something like this. He wanted to tell her what he really thought about it, but at the same time, he didn’t want to offend her or anything. She seemed so kind and gentle after all, but he didn’t want to risk seeing if she had a more… aggressive side.
Because that would be bad, and he didn’t want to alert anyone to that he was actually here.
Though, the idea she had never really had a chance to talk to anyone else like this was a bit worrisome as well. Though, should he really be thinking so much on this subject? Granted, there wasn’t a contract on her or anything, but he was on his off time. Well, it hardly mattered. He would just go with the flow like always and would see what happened.
"Well, as long as it’s fine with you then." he said with a small smile. "And it’s perfectly fine. I mean, I’m here asking all kinds of questions after all." he said with a nod. "So, feel free to ask away." he paused for a moment. "Hm, though I do have one question I would like to ask. Is there something you would like for me to call you by? Like a nickname or something? Just curious.” he chuckled. “Because Lunar Maiden sounds so formal, though, I don’t mind calling you that if that’s what you wish for me to.”
"Similar?" She blinked, curious of what he meant by that. Oh the wonders of this world and her curiosity wanting to know much more of what's beyond these walls was always a thing for her. Always questioning and wanting to learn more, it wasn't enough. What she learned from her books wasn't enough. "How? I'm kind of curious."
Would he tell her? Well she hoped he would. If not, that was fine with her.
"Oh? If you say so!" She smiled delightfully that someone was willingly to let her ask questions without being denied to question like the head priestess. The maiden knew she was not allowed to question this, but there was so much she wanted to know.
"Oh... hm... I like the name Liese, I got it from a book. So you can call me that!"
"Hm?" She turned her head toward the voice and smiles at the sight of a girl peaking out to look at her. "Well, hello, there! I’m not disturbing you, am I?"
"Oh no... but you don't look like a handmaiden or a guard around here." She blinked for a couple of seconds before she became starry-eyed. Immediately thinking she was a visitor from somewhere far. It was already making her excited with questions being brought to her mind as she stared at her.
"Are you a traveler from somewhere far? If so, where did you came from? What's it like?"
Woah. Fennel wasn’t expecting the reception to be this great. A bashful grin easily lifted her eyes as she felt rays of enthusiasm directed in her path coming from Liese. It was a vain little dream that always accompanied her knightly fantasies - being fawned over by the sparkling expressions of admiring children… Oh, but, well, Liese didn’t exactly look like a kid. Still, the feeling was close enough.
"W-Well, to be honest, I was only admitted as an official knight recently… But yep! I’m a sworn ally of justice. My job is to keep an eye on the princess herself!" Not that she was boasting about it or anything. Really. And right now probably wasn’t the best time to be boasting, either. Details aside, the knight had somehow gotten herself separated from the princess, finding herself lost in a stranger’s garden as soon as her senses recovered. Fennel had hoped to escape before catching the eyes of any homeowners, but stealth had never been her forte. Being that sneaky is underhanded, anyway! Only thieves and criminals would use something like that to their advantage!
She should have hurried up and left already, but something about Liese’s circumstances still troubled her. Call it a knight’s instinct (and being best friend to another, well, sheltered girl). Maybe she’ll try nudging her suspicions just a bit further…
"So hey, if you ever feel like taking a look around the city, I’ll be your tour guide! There are a lot of winding streets, so it’s easy to get lost and all. How about it, Liese?"
"But that's still so cool! It's like something from a fairy tale, but real and true!" Liese clapped her hands together in delight as she continued have this starry look as she stared at Fennel. Ah the girl was filled with a childish fantasy of knights saving princes and so on that she's really delightful to see an actual knight in front of her. "Oh I wish I could meet a princess one day."
She really did hoped to see an actual one. Perhaps the one who this knight was protecting. Was she as cute as the knight said? Liese tried to think of what a princess looked like. The only thing that came to mind was one wearing a tiara and wore some kind of puffy dress like in the books she own.
"You would guide me around? That would be wonderful-- Oh... I forgot..." She trailed off quietly, remembering something as she sounded rather disappointed. "I don't think I'll be able to see the city. I mean... I'm not allowed to visit the outside. Only the garden and my room are the only place I'm allowed to be in."
This girl truly was extremely sheltered and Wyatt didn’t know if that bothered him or not. Well, it was bugging him a little bit, but hadn’t he heard stories similar to this before? Stories where a parent or other figure hid away young girls in order to keep them safe? He had ran into a few of them while on the job, after all. But that was neither here nor there, and he doubted this young lady had anything to do with those assignments.
"Hm, no. I’m afraid not." he said casually. "This is the first I’ve ever heard about it, and I guess it’s just surprised me somewhat?" He nodded and rubbed the back of his head again. "I guess I’m just both confused and intrigued by this somewhat due to it being new to me." It really was strange to hear this and he couldn’t help but wonder what kind of disaster might happen that would require such an innocent to sacrifice herself to save the world.
"Ah, you know I’m asking you all kinda of questions about yourself and you’re being very generous about answering them all. And yet, here I am not telling you anything about myself. I’m being extremely rude. Please forgive me for that." Wyatt said with a small smile as he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. "Ah, anyway, if you would like, feel free to ask any questions and I’ll try to answer them.
"So you never know anything similar to this?" Wasn't this interesting. Meeting someone new and being introduced to something like this? That was a major surprise for the girl. She wasn't expecting anything like this and he looked like he was someone who was aware of everything or so she thought.
Her fingers instinctively wrapped around the wooden bars that barred her window and rested against the wall. She didn't know how long this conversation will last, hopefully long enough before anyone sees Wyatt talking to her. The maiden hoped it would last. She didn't know when she would be able to have another chance to talk to someone from the outside again and this could be her very last.
Liese didn't really like the thought of it very much.
"O-oh, no! It's fine really!" She smiled and assured him it was no problem at all. No really she didn't find any problem with this. As long they were talking to her it was fine. "I mean it's really fine. I never had gotten the chance to talk to anyone." She explain while still smiling.
"Really? You won't be too bothered if I keep asking questions?"
Soon the brunet could notice the person who just called him. It was a young female but her features and hair, she was so pretty. By that alone, his cheeks already gained a red tint.
"A-ah yes, I a-am, miss.." Trying to maintain his composure, he rubbed the back of his neck. "I just w-wanted to ask you where I a-am right now, actually…"
It was a boy and he looked like he was about her age, and believing that he was made her kind of excited to know about him-- and well anything he would see from his travels. Anything that would come to mind, really.
Although...
"Huh?" She blinked for a moment, staring at him for quite some time. Confused why he was asking her where he was when he came from the village that led to the Lunar Manor. Surely he was from there... unless he was from another, then that could make some sense.
"Do you now know? Are you not from the village from here?"
Liese Requested by sacrificium-flore.
I put too much effort into this one. ouo;;
AHHHHH THANK YOU, SHE LOOKS SO PRETTYYY
He blinked as he stared at the bars. He gripped the bars while looking at them carefully. They did seem a bit sturdy enough to protect someone important though it was nothing special. He looked at the maiden as he was still curious and confused.
"Lunar Bloom Ritual? I dunno what that is but as for the village… I kind of lived in another village when i was a kid, it was isolated from the world so I didn’t know much about anything about the outside world until recently."
"What? Really?! Ohh so you're from somewhere far then!" To hear he was from somewhere far, but not from the village sounded rather exciting. She wanted to know so much about what he saw on his travels and well almost anything about the world he saw.
"So if you were able to roam the outside world, what is it like? Can you please tell me? I never been outside before-- well except for my own garden, but never out." Yup the girl was excited to know all about the world that she could never take a step foot out.
"I-I mean if it's okay with you, but if not that's fine."
Ken noticed that he could only see from her collar bone up as it seemed. Making a window so high is strange, a barred one at that. It was really strange to talk to someone like this. It was if she was a prisoner or the people here are REALLY paranoid about their safety.
"Uh… Y-Yeah. I’m new to the village but they told me to come here so I don’t really know much about all this. Hey why do people call you that? How come there are bars here? Seems kind of unnecessary to me."
He looked at the bars. They look like he can slide his hand or arm through it. They seemed sturdy enough though he could probably burn them if he really wanted to. He slowly pushes his hands towards the bars to touch hit, he hoped nothing bad would happen if he did.
"You don't know?" Now isn't that surprising. Someone from the village had no idea why she was being called as such? The maiden believed that everyone knew. "I thought everyone in the village knows. I guess since you don't know, I can tell you and why there's bars."
These questions seemed rather silly and so she giggled a little.
"Well I'm called the Lunar Maiden because I was chosen to be one for the Lunar Bloom Ritual. And as for the bars? I think it's to keep me safe."
Well that's what she was led to believe and it did kept her safe for many nights whenever the manor had a intruder roaming around and she could hear so many things outside of her window. Thanks to that she was safe. She blinked for a moment at why the visitor was poking at the bar and unsure what was the point of it.
How could it be fine, though? She was completely ok with the thought of being sacrificed? It seemed she did by the way she was acting. Or maybe it was just him? There were two different cultures here, after all, and she would probably be just as confused with his up bringing and lifestyle as well. He tilted his head to the side as he listened to her speak.
"It sounds like you have a very important duty then." Wyatt said thoughtfully. "You would be willing to give up your life to save the world. Not too many people in this world would be that kind." he said quietly. "The world can and is a cruel place. I guess it would make sense to try and shelter you from it… at least I think?" He shrugged slightly.
He smiled slightly and scratched his cheek again. “If I’m to be honest? It does still sound a bit strange. At least to me since I wasn’t brought up in this culture. But that doesn’t mean it would be strange to others, though.” he glanced up at the sky. “It does sound rather interesting, though. I’ve never heard of any of it before.”
"Well... I don't have anything else to live for, and so I think I'm doing a right thing if it means to protect everyone from letting the world turn into ruin." The maiden commented. Was it that odd for someone to be sacrificed for the sake of the world? Liese didn't believe so. Maybe it didn't help that she was raised to believe this was how things are meant to be.
"To shelter me? Well the head priestess said it was for my own good in order for the ritual to go as sound or else if it fails, then the world will face the calamity." The young girl didn't really seem to understand where Wyatt was coming from, but she was somewhat understanding what he could possibly mean. She had never seen the world be so cruel yet and she knew so little of the world and that it could be worse. But not at first hand.
"So the ritual was never heard of from where you live? That's a surprise." It really did and it showed on her face with her eyes widened a little. She wasn't expecting someone to not know about this.
The red hair male was walking through some sort of garden. It seemed he stumbled into someone’s property which would explain why there were guards there trying to stop him which only lead to Ken beating them until they were unconscious. They should be that way for a while though he stopped when he heard a young woman’s voice. He looks up at her with a calm look on him.
"I’m Ken. What about you? What’s your name?"
Oh so he did heard her! This was good news indeed to see someone new. Having her room on the first floor was good for her to be able to talk to people on the same level as her. Although her only way to talk with others, her bared window only reached up to her collar bone can be a little troublesome.
"Me? I'm called the Lunar Maiden by a lot of people here, but nice to meet you!" The maiden smiled at the redhead while curious about why he was here. Immediately she assumed he was from the village. "Are you visiting the manor from the village?"
The path towards the manor was quite a distance as the young traveler walked in a giant garden. Along with a wide array of green while the birds were chirping a smoothing song, it was actually like a gentle stroll in a park.
After a minute or two, he just reached near the open gates of the manor while the front door was in sight but a voice then called out towards him. It seemed it came from above.
"Hmm…? H-hello, who’s there…?" The brunet looking around, wondering who it was.
"Over here." Again she called out to the stranger before waving at them. From where she was, her room was on the same level as where the young man stood, making it easier for her to talk to anyone. Well she couldn't really talk to anyone due to what she was, being secluded from everyone and all.
At least there wasn't anyone from the manor to tell her not to talk to anyone at the very moment. So why not talk to this visitor when she had the chance?
"Are you a visitor?"
rage-of-jin
"Who are you?" She called out after she spot someone in the garden area when she peaked from her window. They were definitely not a guard by the look of their clothing.
Oh. Oh. Well, that was not something he expected to actually hear. He didn’t actually expect to find out that this young lady was supposed to be some sort of sacrifice, and from how she sounded, it looked like she was totally ok with it. Why was that anyway? Didn’t she want to live? Or was she brought up this way? And then there was the thing about not even having a real name.
Just what had he stumbled upon anyway? What was this girl that he had unwittingly found? Yes, he knew that she lived a closed off existence, but as she seriously that naive? He stared at her as he scratched his cheek, thinking about the many routes that could have led to this, but coming up with nothing.
"And… you’re alright with this then?" he asked. "It seems rather… strange to just sacrifice someone’s life for something that they know nothing about." he paused and thought about how to word his comments. It would come across as rude if he voiced what he was thinking without filtering it out first. "Ah, please forgive my rudeness. I’m just confused, that’s all. If I may ask, what exactly is this Lunar Bloom Ritual about anyway? It must be pretty important if you’re needed in it."
"Oh no, it's fine!" She waved her hand as if she was trying to assure him that it really was already. But did he really not know? It really confused the maiden if this young man didn't know about the ritual and she really thought he did.
Unless no one told him about it, then that would explain a lot of things. Well she didn't mind explaining things if it means she could talk more with Wyatt, then she was fine with that.
"Well... the Lunar Bloom Ritual is a ceremony where a chosen Lunar Maiden that has been branded since they were born must be sacrifice to prevent a calamity from ruining the world. Although it only happens once Lunar Blossoms bloom and it tells the head priestess it's time." As she explained it, she didn't sound too bothered about the sacrifice.
"Does it still sound strange?"
"Well, Solphos is a pretty great place~. It has the cutest princess in the world, you know.” The knight looked proud as she spoke, and if it weren’t for the mess of stray leaves littered about her person, her faith in her kingdom might have actually looked a bit impressive. And having nearly lost herself in her fantasies again, Fennel almost didn’t catch the wave of the female’s hand. With silent acknowledgement, she sidestepped the remaining bushes and flowers in her path and placed herself just a few steps away from the window.
Hmm.
Something was definitely weird about this. A naive girl who doesn’t even know what a village is like, and who can’t seem to step outside her own house… Wait, could this be… No, no, no! Fennel, you barely know this person. Don’t let your delusions diligence mislead you just yet! Talk some more for now; the rescuing can come later (if needed).
"Ah, by the way, my name is Fennel Lutgard. My sincerest apologies for earlier." A smile and a bow - the picturesque form of someone raised in nobility… or so she hopes. "It may be odd for this trespasser to say this now, but I am actually a knight - and at your service, milady!"
"A p-princess?!" Her hands covered her mouth as she gasp at what she heard. "A real princess?! So they are real, that's amazing!" All this time Liese believed princesses and princes were nothing but a fairy tale, but to hear from someone who came from somewhere far to tell her these things was amazing. A cute one too, she wanted to know what kind of princess she was.
It was making the girl so curious about her visitor and more of where she came from-- more importantly, everything about the outside world. Liese knew she could never leave, but hearing stories from others was always nice. However having an actual conversation was something she had wanted.
"No, no, it's fine Fennel! I am called the Lunar Maiden by a lot of people... but uh... you can call me Liese." In truth Liese wasn't her real name. She never really had one from the start. It was always Lunar Maiden and nothing else. She only gave Fennel this name because she read it off a book and she liked it.
"You're an actual knight?! Wow, I never dreamed to actually meet one!"
She looked really pretty!! At least, Lynette thought so. Her eyes were the same blue as Karn’s and it kind of dazed her for a second. Shaking it off as quickly as she could, she nodded her head in return.
"Nice to meet you too!! But since you don’t have a name…what should I call you? Lunar Maiden sounds kind of formal. Maybe Luna?"
"Luna? Hm..." Somehow she didn't exactly like the name of it. It didn't bother her greatly as she didn't really like the name. But she didn't want to sound rude to decline the name, so she smiled and nodded. "Okay, you can call me that if you want to."
