Going to a concert is incredible, and now that I have the financial means to afford them without guilt or going into debt, I realize this.
Since my teenage years, I dreamed of seeing my favorite artists, but I never could. Even though my country, Chile, has always hosted a huge number of artists, from niche acts to megastars, I never got to experience the luxury of attending one. I even thought it wasn't such a big deal; I didn't understand the people who arrived so excited and exhausted. I wanted to believe they were just exaggerating to hide my own eagerness to go.
The first concert I ever attended was "Destripando la Historia," featuring Spanish artists, but I didn't pay for it myself; it was a gift from a friend. But that was the beginning of my interest in attending more concerts, this time paying for them myself with my own money and earnings.
Then Hyde arrived in September 2025, and then SIM in October of that year. I was so excited to see a singer I've followed for so long and a band that kept me hooked since I first saw them in a Shingeki opening. It's indescribable, it was glorious and beautiful.
And then came My Chemical Romance… a band that impacted my adolescence so much that I thought I'd never see them live, but there they were, right in front of me, with me in my Gerard cosplay as Helena. What I screamed, what I experienced, what I felt at that concert—I can't even begin to describe it.
And yesterday, February 9th, Gackt was in Chile, with an impressive vocal performance and amazing stage presence. Despite how exhausted he was and how worried his fans were about his health, he poured his heart and soul into the show, giving us such energy that many of us woke up exhausted but happy.
In conclusion, I think this experience is worthwhile. If you like the music and can afford it, please go to your favorite artist's concert, regardless of the genre. If you like it, and the artist has proven to be great with their fans and have a powerful stage presence, then go for it! Have fun, feel, sing, shout, dance and move your body; singing along with other people around is an unforgettable experience. Art is great, music is inspiring in any of its forms (except for AI-generated music, that's garbage and it sucks, long live everything produced by a genuine human!)
