Hello everyone, how are you all? I recently saw an Instagram story that said Gerald Way was Valentino's dad, so I made a mini comic.

No one is talking about the graphics that were playing in Teenagers so I'm doing it

When teenagers start playing the whole vibe changes. Previously they played "Sleep" which has the strongest visuals and lighting in the show (the constant red and blue lights). It's the brainwashing part of the story and in a way we are also being brainwashed with them. The change to "Teenagers" is quite striking, fast and I believe it to be intentional.

The cameras were no longer pointing at the band, the screens only showed a puppet show which is obviously propaganda from Draag. I believe the story they were telling is quite important for the lore of lltbp and even foreshadowing.

It feels as if "teenagers" is part of the conditioning phase, and we are being conditioned to perceive as normal what happens in Draag. Either that or maybe even guidelines of what the band has to do.

So let's start with the characters:

Queen and king

They are seen throughout the story as unable to leave their castle and helpless to what was happening to their child

The prince/princess

They are seen mostly outside of the castle, althought there is a moment where they are inside the castle with their parents and even the jester

the jester

the jester is seen inside and outside the castle, almost like a double agent. He helps the gentleman at some point.

the black knight

the black knight shows at the end of the story to carry the gentleman's deeds

the gentleman

we know that the gentleman first appeared in the first part of the tour as this toy that Gee carries around. Maybe the doll is a merchandise puppet from this tv show. The gentleman in the show is seen as this Mister Roger type of character, telling a story to the kids in Draag, but also interacting with the characters and even giving them orders.

Things to notice:

This entire concept is reminiscent of what would have been their 5th album "paper kingdom"

The Paper Kingdom was going to be a concept album, telling the story of a support group of parents whose children had died, and would make up a narrative about how their children were actually lost in the woods fighting against a witch. (x)

The text in Keposhka:

The title of the show is: gentleman castle the text with the train is: train time the text in red: strong!

(There's more but I need time to try to decode the credit scene at the end of the song.)

The story

after the introduction of the characters we see the gentleman making his entrance and showing the puppets. The king and queen are quite distressed, they are the only ones inside the castle, and the prince/princess seems to be at the border, near the train-rails.

The gentleman gets excited and it seems he is announcing something, the jester appears for a moment before the text "Train time" shows up.

The gentleman then is seen hitting two pieces of what seems to be metal, he does it three times. Then a toy train carrying wheat starts getting closer to the prince/princess. There is a countdown of three before the text says "STRONG!"

After this, nothing really happens. The jester is shown outside of the castle and it hands the gentleman a recorder. The gentleman seems a bit worried trying to get the recorder from the jester's hands, but then he starts to play. The gentleman is shown being really happy and excited but when he notices it he hides the recorder and the sun is shown watching him.

The puppets and the gentleman seem to be a bit distressed before an eye is shown observing everything. The gentleman's smile falters and he is staring at us without a smile.

There is a change of scene where the gentleman whispers to the prince/princess and the black knight separately. This is the first time we are seeing the black knight. The two of them start fighting with their swords, but the black knight is the one who kills the prince/princess in the end. All of this happens in front of the queen and king who are completely heartbroken.

The gentleman picks up the dead prince/princess and smiles at us before leaving them on the floor. The black knight then starts to dance.

At the end, night comes and you can see the queen and king crying before the credits roll.

Theories:

the characters and the story parallels The clerk and Gee's characters.

Earlier in the show we find out that The clerk is a prisoner in MOAT, he was taken there. In the letter he received from his father he is told that his parents can't do anything to get him out of there and he is upset. This mirrors the queen and king not being able to help their child and were almost seen as trapped inside the castle. This can also be an allegory of Draag separating parents and children to use them, maybe as an army or sorts.

Now we have the black knight character. I believe this to be Gee. The way that the black knight started to dance with a sword reminded me of how Gee dances with the dagger at the show. The black knight is only shown at the end of the puppet show but he and the prince/princess are ordered to fight each other by the gentleman. This might be what is happening to the Clark and Gee, they are ordered to kill each other.

Now the jester is an interesting character, He is shown inside and outside the castle. It seems as if he is the only one with free will (which makes sense since, historically speaking, jesters were allowed to do things most people could not even think of without repercussions) . The Jester is seen distressed just as the queen and king, but then he is the one who hands the gentleman the recorder. Now, maybe this is me overthinking this, but maybe the jester is supposed to represent the revolution or even the part inside the characters in tbp that wants to be free. When the gentleman starts to play with the recorder it almost seems as if he is a bit free himself, he looks happy. However, he immediately hides/throws the recorder and it's looking nervously to the puppet sun. That's where the eye comes out and everyone, even the gentleman seems to be scared. Maybe the Jester represents that fighting force of trying to stop the reconditioning and it's showing us what the answer is: Music. Making music, playing records. That has the power of fighting back the all seeing eye.

Train time

Maybe I'm reading too into this, but I got the idea that what they mean by this is that this is a training. The train does not run over the prince/princess, and it's carrying wheat, a symbol of strength for Draag.

I think this represents the training part of the conditioning. Besides, the gentleman hits to metal bars three times, making noise with it before the train starts running. I think this is important, I saw a theory that said that Gee was being trained as a sleeper agent, and that he was activated with sounds-- so this might be further proof of that.

It also connects with the many references to "the cabinet of dr. caligari" shown throughout the show, with Gee being Cesare who is controlled by someone else to kill people. (I might need to make a separate post about the references in story and characters as well)
