hi, my name is peter parker
birth of a goddess
couldnt not draw her in this look
the literacy crisis conversation online frustrates me beyond belief. if i could take away the term media literate from the internet, i would!!! like most things online, the more popular the subject, the more it loses its meaning. people don't want to understand media literacy or the male gaze or trauma bond or whatever other term has gone viral and lost its meaning. people just like to use it in the online discourse to sound smart, to use as an insult, to feel morally superior.
everyone wants to moralize all they do. how do they engage is shipping wars? how do they watch movies better than other people? how to do they ethically consume raunchy romance books? (thats not a diss on raunchy romance books btw im reading them too) these peoples morals are contained to the online space, but boy do they like to employ the use of terms like media literate at anyone who disagrees with them.
no one is able to say agree to disagree. no one is able to admit they just dont like something. its not for them.... not they don't like it because theres some fatal moral flaw and their dislike of it makes them better than everyone else.
the literacy crisis is serious AND real. yet, the way people talk about it seems like its happened to everyone BUT THEM. but the literacy crisis is so prevalent we can all become victims to it in some capacity. i think you need to find ways to actively combat it. even then, you are still susceptible. but understand people are flawed creatures and we can learn and grow and do better. but stop throwing out that someone is media illiterate for not having the same opinion as you. stop pretending to care about the literacy crisis, you dont.
On that tree.
Day 1: Soulmates
«Excuse me, I think you may have dropped your book»
Gaang is all here
I've been listening to the new soundtracks since they dropped (ATLA Book 3 soundtrack!! Ah! The memories!!) and with the movie and then the trailer for the show... all I can think about is 'where's Suki?!' rn (To be fair, I haven't read the comics, so maybe it's answered there or in that movie I haven't watched yet?)
happy kataang week!!!!!!
Peeta muttering to himself that Katniss and Haymitch are "just alike" after spending one (1) week with them together is crazy actually
like he's already noticed, thought about, and decided this. and he's not just calling Katniss as sullen & intense as a reclusive grown man with a drinking (and a punching) problem - he's also calling Haymitch a big fake faker that acts like he's above his feelings but is very much not
Katniss & Haymitch: I've spent years putting up thorns and walls to protect myself... I am Obscure, Unknowable...
Peeta, who's had to detect the smallest changes in behavior or mood for survival since birth:
Random question but what's your opinion on Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark from the hunger games?
they make me start frothing at the mouth and punching drywall thanks for asking <3
(links // tip jar!)
i only accept ships where he is sweet, soft and so obsessed with her. she might be a little mean to him sOMETIMEs, but she is also obsessed
“i wish Peeta was here — the old Peeta — because he would be able to articulate why it is so wrong to be exchanging fire when people, any people, are trying to claw their way out of the mountain.”
