🔷Author's note: Dark.
wordcount: 4669 (that is insanely funny)
The smelly beast had flew you and your new husband to an unknown area. You knew you were going South, but you were too busy with screaming to bother to look where he was taking you exactly. You remember all your father’s words about the dragons when flying, that they were murderous unholy beings created by the enemies of the Gods. They were not to be adored, to be worshipped or petted. They are the enemy.
Your husband sits on the other small couch, staring out the window. You don’t say a word, except sometimes your soft sniffles interrupt his thinking. You can see the way his eye rolls, his brows frowns and his body rises as he sighs as if he finds you annoying. You don’t care for it. Not a tiny bit. He took you from your home and he hit your maid. He hit Bertha. You recoil by the thought of the cruel punch he gave her in her stomach, pure because he could not hit you himself. The curtain is pulled close again, and Aemond lifts his head. You feel the tension build as you neatly fold your gloved hands in front of you, looking at your nails. You feel the urge to pull them. But the gloves prevent you from doing so. ‘’Where are you taking me?’’
Aemond denied you many things but he is at least honest about where he is taking you. ‘’Home. King’s Landing.’’ You could have predicted that. You don’t ever think you will call that hole your ‘’home’’. Oldtown was your home. He tilts his head, smiling as you slowly sink back into the cushions of the seat. ‘’You’ll like it there.’’ You don’t respond. He becomes impatient, as he sighs again, and the curtain goes open again. He sees the same trees as earlier and bites his lips, his head hitting the wood of the carriage. You know it won’t be as long, if he flew from the Reach to the Crownlands. But it still feels like forever that you are stuck in the green metal cage on wheels. Aemond has decorated it with hideous dragon banners and cushions but it remains a cage all the same.
After an eternity, the carriage stops. You open your eyes, understand you must’ve fallen asleep along the way. A soldier politely knocks on the door before the curtain is pushed aside again. ‘’My Prince, my Lady. We have arrived.’’ You look at your husband and are startled by what he is doing. In his dominant hand, lies a small black block you recognize as a whetstone. He was sharpening a sword when he waited for the carriage to arrive. You huff, finding it most undignified for him to that in front of you while you were sleeping.
He does not acknowledge you at first, climbing out the carriage himself first. You roll your eyes, following your charming husband. A hand is offered to help you out the carriage, and to your surprise it is not Aemond’s. One of the soldiers has offered to help. You smile thankfully, muttering a polite thank you. Aemond follows the exchange, glaring. You don’t pay attention to him. You take some time to take in the high walls of the courtyard, as well as the gates and the tall towers looming over you as dead. You see what your father meant. Oldtown is much more modest and beautiful in that way. ‘’The Red Keep is a whore,’’ he would say. ‘’It tries to hard to impress her guests.’’ You miss Oldtown. You miss the grey colours. Luckily there is some green to be found around here as well, but the green has sadly been violated with a dragon sigil.
One question remains. ‘’What will you do with my handmaid?’’ You ask the Prince. Aemond seems confused for a second, as if he had already forgotten the torture section he did earlier. You want to know if you need to free Bertha or if need be, kill her for her own state of mind. You won’t allow his men to savage her, the way you’ll likely be savaged. You don’t want to think about it much, but it is on your mind. The reality that you’ll be forced into his bed sooner rather than later haunts you and makes your chest stop functioning as it becomes as stuck as a stone. Aemond finally reacts when Bertha is helped off a horse, and brought to him.
He seems to like your pleading eyes and forced smile, as you gladly want to insult him again. But you know you are at his mercy not the other way around. ‘’It depends. Can you behave?’’ He asks you, tilting his head with a smirk. ‘’I won’t lie, I do like the idea of keeping her. She is a pretty thing and you listen well when I strike her.’’ You don’t like the sound of that at all. You silently pray to the Gods to strike him down, but he only sets a step closer. ‘’As long as you behave, she’ll live to see another day.’’ A very clear warning. You nod, hiding your tears that sting as she is pushed inside the Red Keep, likely to be brought to a prison cell.
The door to the keep is opened for you and for Aemond and you both enter it simultaneously. It would be almost romantic if you didn’t dislike him as much. Aemond sighs, takes a moment to collect his thoughts and opens the big doors to what you assume can only be the Throne room. He straightens his back, folds his hands on his back, and makes himself look tall and intimidating. The sword shimmers on his hip. You follow, hesitant step by step as you allow yourself to accustom to the dragon banners and statues of Kings you never liked. Aemond halts in front of the Iron Throne. You bump into him, by accident. ‘’Apologies.’’ You mutter, to his back.
For the first time since you met him, Aemond has become quiet. He turns around, his cloak following him as a shadow. His face is one of anger, distraughtness and utter panic. ‘’No.’’ He hisses, through his teeth. ‘’No!’’ He advances the throne, faster than before. ‘’No! That Craven!’’ You watch the sword leave his side, as he uses it to attack the throne. That is when it becomes too much, his anger reminding you of your father when he had his moods. You back away, frightened and lift your skirts before running far, far away. Nearby, there is a staircase. You don’t think, you just walk up, and enter a room on the left. You can still hear Aemond scream and rage downstairs. You are terrified and confused, as you make yourself as tiny as possible inside a wardrobe and close the doors as best as you can. You begin to cry, aware you might have endangered Bertha as well as yourself.
The worst part of your wardrobe hiding spot, that after some time you think you actually succeeded. The screaming has died down and you think you picked a decent room to hide in. You think you might succeed. You aren’t sure how, as your father will bring you back to Aemond, and your other family members fear or support Ormund. That is until the door is grabbed and pulled open, that you look into the face of a guard. He turns around instantly upon discovering you. ‘’I found her!’’ He informs the others. You notice another guard on his knees, likely checking under the bed. Another, was looking behind some curtains. You make another quick prayer.
You decide to appeal to the man’s good loyal qualities. ‘’Please good Ser, I am but a follower of the Seven same as you. The Prince will hurt me if you bring me to him. He has struck my maid and I fear deeply for my safety when I am with him.’’ You plead, in tears. The guard sighs, as the one by the bed frowns. You know that look too well. He is a non-believer. The Gods created him yet he denies their existence.
He crosses his arms and puts the pillows back where he took them from. ‘’Where did Aemond find her? She sounds half as insane as the Queen was.’’ His question is ignored. You wonder what Queen this could be. Alicent was never insane. At least not to your knowledge. She was briefly discussed sometimes but never visited or cared to write.
You take your necklace off, knowing it’ll be worth something. But he shakes his head and you know all is lost. ‘’You fear what he does to you, but I fear more what he does to me when he finds out I had you and let you go.’’ He does not wait for himself to finish and grabs your arms, painfully dragging you outside of the wardrobe as you scream.
‘’He won’t hurt you, surely. You are a loyal man, a knight upholding the good and protecting the innocent.’’ You beg, pleading with him for mercy. He just ignores you. You both end up back in the small indoor courtyard, where darkness now has set in. Even in the dark, you can still make out the silhouette of your husband and the clear wooden block in front of him and a man on his knees. You haven’t seen one but you know you are watching an execution.
“We found her.” You are pushed in his direction. You trip over your gown and fall face first onto the stone tiles. It hurts and you whimper. There is blood on your hands, as well on your knees. Your teeth hurt too as does your nose. Your husband stops the execution, his attention now focused on you. ‘’Why did you run off? I was worried someone might have abducted you.’’ You wish they had.
You look at the sword in the moonlight as well as that terrifying eye of his. The truth isn’t that easy to hide now, when he stands in front of you when he clearly wants to commit sins and murder people. “You frightened me.” You admit.
The Prince scoffs at your quiet voice and folded hands. He inspects your hands at first, and slowly sighs when he takes in the damage. ‘’The Gods seem to have punished you for your treason. It’ll heal in time.’’ He assures you. ‘’Do not run away from me again. You won’t be happy when I find you.’’ You gulp, giving a soft nod as a tear splashes on the ground. “Good. I am your husband. You should fear me.” He says, and you know he is right. He is your husband and you should respect and obey him but him being a Targaryen makes this impossible.
You step closer to the strange kneeling man. He wears a white gown, more fit for the sept. You spot the necklace around his neck, the chains and you understand Aemond is about to execute a Maester. “What are you doing with that man?” You ask, disgusted. You help the poor man to his feet, interrupting the execution. ‘’He is a Maester. A man of the books. Are you quite alright, my Lord?” You ask the stranger as he gawks, at you, and at Aemond.
Your husband steps closer, wielding the sword as a threat to you both. “Don't show him kindness.” He warns you. He puts the man back on the chopping block. “My brother. Where is he?” The Maester remains silent at first. Until Aemond smacks his head against the tiles. ‘’Answer me!’’ He barks. The Maester breaks and whispers, nodding so that Aemond knows he will speak..
The Answer is short and heavy breathed. You know he must be terrified. You felt the same way when he lost control in the throne room earlier. ‘’I don’t know, my Prince.’’ He confesses in tears. ‘’I woke up to help his Grace-’’ Aemond pressed his head down again, slamming his head against the tiles. You hear the poor man grunt and cry.
You interfere because you know in your heart he won’t hesitate to kill this man. ‘’He is a Maester, Aemond. Killing is a sin. The Gods teach us to be kind and respectful!’’
‘’Do you tell your father the same when he kills?’’ ‘’Little hypocrite.’’ He hisses as his anger switching targets. He advances and you back away, afraid. You back away until your back ends up against a wall, and Aemond simply places both hands against your head so you cannot escape him. ‘’Perhaps I am punishing the wrong person.’’ He murmurs as he leans in closer, sniffing your neck.
You think Aemond will hurt you now, until the Maester sighs, and speaks. ‘’Aegon had somehow left, my Prince. I did not know of this. I had no idea. I never…without his poppy milk, I doubt he survives a day. I wouldn’t recommend him going anywhere.’’ Aemond sighs, reminded of his presence again. He grabs the sword, and levels it at the neck, ready to take the final cut as you scream.
A fourth voice interrupts you all, as a guard yells at Aemond from upstairs. “My Prince! Lord Larys fled too.” Aemond puts the sword away, seething. He kicks the Maester aside, and hurriedly leaves the courtyard.
-
You are escorted under guard to the throne room. You don’t like the room at all. The dragon banners and the haunting statues that can come to life any moment remind you you are not in a home. You are in a prison. To your shock, your husband has taken a seat on the hideous iron chair, wearing a crown familiar to your ring. ‘’Do you like it?’’ He asks. You shake your head.
‘’I much rather go home.’’ You say, and it's the truth. You long to be back with your family in Oldtown now more than ever. His eyes roll and his knuckles whiten as you gulp. He stands up, quickly advancing as the doors are closed behind you. You cannot escape.
‘’This is your home.’’ He grabs your face. ‘’You are to become my lady wife.’’
You rise your head as powerfully as you can. ‘’I don’t want to.’’ You know you are defying your family by speaking this truth but you cannot deny it. ‘’You are not who I wish to wed. You will lead us down a path of doom and destruction. You may be kin, but we are not family.’’
He simply chuckles. ‘’I’ve heard enough of you for today.’’ He walks back the throne, sitting himself down on the iron as he takes out another sword. ‘’I’d like to see what my effort got me. I want to see what my gold got me, most of all.’’ He suddenly says. You are confused at first.
Your voice becomes dry as you understand what he means. What he wants to see and what he feels entitled to. You. He feels entitled to you. All of you. Your stomach turns. ‘’I don’t understand.’’ You lie, pretending not to follow. You hope he changes his mind. His lips curl into a cruel smirk.
He has the means to force you and you are aware. ‘’I’ll help you understand.’’ He says and for a moment you are afraid he might undress you with force and violence. But he remains seated on the throne. ‘’I want you to remove your dress for me.’’ You were right. You watch, speechless.
Here. In the Throne Room. Of all Places. He has no regard for your honour or your shame. ‘’M-my prince. I don’t think that is a good idea.’’ You say, trying to find a way out of this. ‘’For one, we are not wed. What will the commoners say when I am with child, yet not wed?’’ Your first way out. Aemond thinks for a second before answering.
He shrugs. ‘’We will wed tomorrow, do not fret. I know you cannot wait for the wedding, but I urge you to be a bit patient.’’ He says, his voice covered in sarcasm. You think of another way out. Any way out.
‘’What if someone walks in?’’ You ask, next.
He dryly waves with the sword. ‘’I’ll poke their eyes out if that pleases you.’’ You break. You approach, shocking him. Your eyes are watery and your hands shake of emotions. How can you make it clear to him that you don’t want to become his wife, his lady, his anything?
You do not want violence. You would not wish it upon anyone. You don’t want eyes poked out or throats slashed or heads rolling. You want peace, a husband, a cottage in Oldtown and children. He does not understand you. How can he wed you? ‘’It does not, please me. It frightens me you say such things. The Gods tell us to be merciful.’ You remind him, in tears.
For a moment, he seems to doubt. But then that moment ends, and his resolve has hardened pure because you dared to protest.
‘’I am merciful. If I were my brother, you’d be on your back with my cock down your cunt, getting savagedly raped on the tiles.’’ Your mouth drops open, shocked at his choice of words. He sighs, twirling the dagger. ‘’I don’t think I am requesting much, now am I? I will feed, cloth and house you. You will show me!’’
You flinch, a terrified sob escaping you. ‘’Why? it’s nothing special. It’s just my body.’’ Yet you do as he asks. You remove the lace sleeves, and the lace corset and finally show your breasts. You will yourself to not let it bother you. ‘’Just a body.’’ You repeat.
He leans back against the iron of the throne, his smirk only growing as he grins. ‘’I disagree. Quite the lovely pair you have.’’ You whimper as he uses his hands on your body. ‘’Such pretty nipples too.’’ He sighs, delighted. ‘’And they respond well to touch. Good. I had hoped so.’’ He allows himself to fully feel your breasts and it takes quite some time before he seems to have finished touching you. ‘’You may take your skirts off next.’’
‘’I prefer not to.’’ You say, a bit braver. ‘’The Gods want me maiden until I marry.’’
He softly sighs. ‘’What was that? I can’t have heard that correctly.’’ You sigh, and this time your skirts are pulled down as you get out of it. Aemond has no regard for your honour or shame and it is cold in the castle. You cross your arms over your chest, glancing at him what he wants to do now that you’ve obeyed him. He takes in your legs, and your feet and before long he gestures to the area between your legs, where a final piece of clothing is covering you. ‘’Take that off too.’’ Your shocked expression must’ve been funny to him as he chuckles. You obey, fully baring yourself naked. ‘’Good. The Gods are proud of you.’’ He says, mocking you and your religion. You glare.
‘’Come closer.’’ He says, inviting you near the iron throne. You set a few steps in his direction but remain cautious. ‘’Closer.’’ You can almost touch him and he can touch you. He smiles down at you from the throne. ‘’Mhm.’’ He pats his own lap. ‘’Come sit.’’ You don’t want to, but you understand you have little choice. You sit down, your body feeling the heat of his body, as you sit down, on the legs of a man wearing nothing. You both sit the throne. ‘’You are sitting the most powerful seat in the realm.’’ His left hand goes to your naked leg, as he pats it. ‘’Do you like sitting here, my sweet?’’ He touches your nipples again, playing with your breasts.
You don’t fall for the sweet nickname or the kind touches. ‘’I’d like it more if I was dressed appropriately.’’ You remark, and you would. You would give anything to put your clothes back on. You don’t mind that Aemond has seen it. You mind any guard entering and seeing it. Any man not sworn by blood and Gods to be your husband. You fear them seeing you at your lowest, at your weakest.
‘’I think i’ll take you for a little ride, see how that changes your perspective.’’ He says, and you know you offended him. You want to ask questions as to where you’ll be riding, as he forces his knee right under your lady parts, giving you a firm rubbing. Your breath catches in your throat, as you gasp shocked at the audacity and the possibility. Aemond’s hands are quick to hold you, as he repeats this process over and over again, slowly taking you on his mere knee. Your body reacts unpleasantly to him, as it wets and your face must make all sort of expressions of confusion and yes, delight. Aemond tilts it slightly so he may see all your expressions as he forces you to ride his knee. Just when you think you’ve gotten used to the pleasant foreign little riding, he stops. You catch your breath, confused and a ashamed that you allowed that to happen.
He smirks. ‘’I knew you’d like that. You are a woman of the Seven, a devoted Servant. You sometimes need a push, a subtle hint to understand where to spread your legs for next.’’ You feel him touch you between your legs, this time with his fingers. ‘’Mhm. Most men wouldn’t allow this behaviour. This is devious. One might say, sinful.’’ He glances at you, studying your reaction to that word. You shake your head, muttering as you try to get off. He just holds you tighter, rubbing your breasts as his other hand goes between your legs, touching you. ‘’I want you to make it up to me. What you just did, was selfish and rude.’’ You don’t understand.
‘’But you moved your knee and invited me.’’ You mutter, confused. He wanted this as badly as you did. You hear your words back and are horrified.
He chuckles, sighing deeply. ‘’I am talking about you walking away from me.’’ He reminds you coldly. ‘’We live in a dangerous time. I think, as punishment, I want you to ride my knee, and this time, you’ll do the dirty work.’’ He says. ‘’You’ll ride me this time.’’ You don’t understand. Aemond rolls his eye and helps you, by moving you over his knee, but this time you decide the rhythm, the speed and the hardness of it. It’s all up to you. Shyly you move over his leg, but after the first few times the experience sets in and you become more experienced and try things out as you. Taking it harder, and faster for one. Soon you are moaning when taking him, when he calmly sits the throne with you riding him.
‘’Look at you, undressed, naked and wet, fucking my knee as if you were born for it.’’ You whimper. ‘’Does my little niece like it? Do you like fucking your uncle’s knee?’’ You pout, your shame growing as does your desire. He smirks. ‘’I’ll have you come on my knee, soaking my pants. That’ll teach you who you belong to now.’’ You want it. You want it so badly. You whimper, burying your face in his neck of shame. He chuckles, pleased. ‘’I know, my sweet.’’ He sighs, rubbing your back. ‘’I don’t feel like dragging you upstairs to have you in my brother’s whore infested bed.’’ He mutters as his fingers keep softly rubbing your cunt. ‘’And I don’t want to have you on the tiles here either. Our first time must be special and befitting of a Queen. Don’t you think?’’ You are unsure. He gives you a sign to stand, and you follow him around the throne room until you end up by a glass painting of the Seven high above you all. ‘’I think, this a good spot.’’ He says, after some time. You are confused what he wants to do. You assume he wants to sleep with you. But he cannot do that here, in a throne room. Without a bed. Can he?
‘’Face the painted glass.’’ You do. He sets your feet a bit apart, and gives you one last finger down between your legs. He gives your butt a firm spanking as you hear iron fall on the floor and understand he is undressing. Aemond cradles your head lovingly, bends you so you can look up to the Glass and whispers. ‘’It is only painful the first time.’’ He says. Your eyes are searching for the Maiden the moment his length finds your cunt.
Your cries echo through the throne room, as he begins to penetrate you, your hips getting slammed onto his own. Your breathing increases and the need to cry out only increases as you endure what is happening to you. It feels as if he is coming home. ‘’That is it.’’ He groans in your ear, when taking you from behind against the wall. Your arms hurt but you won’t give in as Aemond’s cock explores your body and fills you all the way up. He grunts and thunders in your ear as you are carried away by waves of pleasure and wetness and feelings you can’t nor want to understand. Your mouth opens and you produce pathetic little cries as you glance up at the glass painting. You hear him grunt, and your muscles hurt as he curses, taking you harder than before. Your eyes close and you feel yourself lose whatever control remained as you are brutally fucked under the glass window. Aemond’s breath is hasty too and you feel his anger and his desire taking hold. The pleasure builds as Aemond forces you to take all of it, no regard that this is your first time. You experience sinful thoughts as you beg for him to take you, to take all of it and to have you. He listens for once, fucking you against the wall right where you need it. You whimper in the stone as he takes you again, and again and finally after feeling hungry for so long, he finally makes you feel satisfied. You come, screaming.
Your legs feel hurtful when he finally puts you back on the ground, glancing at your bloodied cunt. He pants too, a grin on his face. ‘’Aegon fled.’’ He says and it feels insulting that he doesn’t praise you first for what you just did. ‘’I am King now.’’ He adds. ‘’It is why I had to wed you so quickly. I need an heir to stabilize the realm.’’ You understand you just signed your own death warrent. A political prisoner might be kept alive by the Blacks. But a Queen carrying a King’s babe? Absolutely not. ‘’You have Hightower blood. I have the Blood of the Dragon. Our child, will be unsullied. It’ll be fit the rule the Seven Kingdoms. I see our banners, light grey and green, combined. I see thousands fall at our feet and beg to serve us as we burn our enemies, their ashes giving life to our crops.’’ You don’t understand what he is saying at first. But the true king, Aegon seems to have left. And rightly so.
From what you understand, Aemond tried to kill him tonight. A complicated complication in your father’s plans for sure. He did not think Aemond capable of this. Or did he? Did he knew all along? Did he suspected that Aegon would flee, and were you the distraction for Aemond? Or did he knew Aemond was looking for a Queen and did he just force you down a path? You suppose you will never know. Aemond’s hands go around your belly. ‘’I will bring you to bed. We can discuss these matters later. I cannot wait for you to bring forward my son.'' He says, and you are indeed helped to dress and brought to the King's bedroom. The same one you hid in earlier. You wonder if its a sign from the Gods. That you hid here, while in truth, you shouldn't have hidden. You see it now, as clear as glass. Aemond is who the Gods want you to be with. Aemond is intertwined in your destiny and he is to be your husband. You allow Aemond to join you in the bed, and you lay awake at night, thinking of his words. War looms from every corner now. You know so. Knives will be out. Heads will roll and blood will flow. You look at your husband as he sleeps, and conclude that he is right. What you fight for is a higher purpose than the Blacks could ever understand. You are not fighting for yourself or Aemond but for the Gods, for the true Blood that must perserve above all. You fall asleep after burying your head against his body, ignoring the obvious smell of dragon.

or shes ...you know...traumatized.
I think thats what we see here. She is clearly forcing Aemond here to be some answer from the gods because she cannot and will not accept that her gods forced this upon her. She is scared obviously for good reasons but at the same time she has been brainwashed since she was a little girl so obvious shes gonna yap about the gods. This is her way with dealing with trauma, it always has been so in that way, it makes sense for her to kind of become delulu and think the Gods are speaking to her. Its still a bit strange, but lets be honest with a father like ormund, a husband as Aemond it might not be as strange to believe the Gods are like, testing you and have prepared you for a secret holy mission. This is coming scarly close to ''radialisation'' aint it. But i guess that is what it.
I hope this lived up to the hype.
I know some of yall want gentle Aemond who falls for OC and changes his whole world for her but I...I cannot. Not in a canon setting at least, aus i can live with but for some reason when I write Aemond and hes kind and hes in westeros I DONT TRUST THAT MAN. He scares me. You think im easily scared? XD but yeah. I hope i described this well im always scared to death when publishing things that dont have a really happy ending because ive seen in the past not everyone likes me writing that. Again, if you liked it i know its a bit of akward fic to comment on but you can send anons just dont threathen me with death in it if you liked it or send a little like or a comment or a reblog.
im commiting treason im so sorry
but its happening.

The skies have blackened with smoke in the distance. Fires keep the courtyard warm where multiple children and women shelter for the upcoming battle. They hope for a victory. They hope for a happy ending.
You stand on your balcony and overlook the city you were conceived in, born in, and perhaps even will die in: DolkBurg. A small city, almost a village, but not quite, located in the Riverlands.
Your family, the Dawreyn, have been ruling this seat until the beginning of the Seven Kingdoms; perhaps even before that, according to some ancient texts. Yet you are not a full Dawreyn. You are a bastard. Your father is Samwell Dawreyn, but your mother? You wouldn't know.
From the distance, you notice horses riding up to the city gates. That is when you stop watching. You close the door of your balcony and head downstairs.
When you pass halls, men and women alike are preparing for the battle. Servants carry food, supplies, and weapons around in quick passed steps. You see your father and your brother adjusting their armours before going to meet the Greens head-on. And you see Lady Fyona Dawnreyn, who clutches her youngest child, your brother Maas, on her lap. Her eyes are big and full of worry, and she mumbles prayer after prayer.
You ignore her for now, as she would ignore you as usual. ‘’Where are Annalysa and Diandra?’’ You ask your father, Lord Samwell Dawreyn. His heir, your half-brother Karst, is busy sharpening his sword, preparing for battle by slashing down imaginary enemies. You hope the battle ends as good as he imagines it. You doubt it, however. Karst has never seen a real battle. None of you have. Perhaps your father did. But he is old and weak. You would be a fool to deny it.
Your father speaks in an annoyed, snappy tone that betrays that you have outstayed your welcome in his presence already for today. ‘’Annalysa is in her rooms. Diandra is busy preparing her crossbow.’’ He does not even glance at you.
And that kills you faster than any arrow or sword ever would. Diandra has always been very spirited. ‘’Don't tell me she is stupid enough to fight.’’ You huff. Diandra thinks she is the greatest archer who ever lived, but how much damage can one 12 years old do?
Your father turns on his heel, glaring at you. ‘’I'm glad that one of my daughters is doing something useful. Instead of sending good suitors screaming for the hills.’’ You absently touch your scar by your face before glaring at him.
He leans in closer. ‘’We will soon discuss the matter of your future, Y/N. I will no longer have you under my roof. Not when bastards are hunted.’’ You know what he is referring to.
King Aegon II has decided that all bastards holding titles and lands must turn it over to the Crown. You have never heard of a more foolish rule, but you understand why he did so. His nephews are bastards. The rightful queen might be pure of blood, but her children are not.
You would be a risk for your family to keep. You would endanger the life of your siblings. You would endanger everyone here. You would rather stay, but not at the costs of their lives.
Your father leaves the hall with Karst, and you watch the two of them walk outside, to where their horses await them. Karst climbs on the saddle before waving to you, following your shared father.
Diandra, out of breath, chases after them with her bow. ‘’Wait! I can fight!’’ She shouts into the dust and the shadows they leave behind.
You feel sympathy for your youngest sister. You gently lay a hand on her shoulder. ‘’They're men, Di. This war started because they were too shortsighted to see what we women are truly capable of.’’
Di drops her bow defeated. She was born eight years ago. You two are different in so many ways. ‘’I just wish I wasn't a woman. I wish I could…’’She looks wistfully to where the smoke clouds have gotten worse and is gathered above the hills surrounding the city. Even if she was born a man, she would not be able to fight for several years to come.
You take one of her hands and try to drag her away from the gates and back to the safety of your home. ‘’We need to prepare the castle.’’ You tell her with a smile. ‘’It's a great honor and duty to prepare the castle when battle is afoot. We must -’’
A horse lets himself be known. A familiar horse. The majestic creature almost walks right to Diandra, who greets her horse with a pat on his neck. Balyrion, her loyal horse, lowers his head in greeting.
Diandra grabs her bow, walking her horse to the stables where it escaped from...
You turn your back, but keep watching her. In the moments that you do, you see your sister climb on her horse and dash off into the city, to where the warzone becomes closer and closer to the place you call home.
You let out a shriek before grabbing your own horse from the stables, chasing after her in madness and desperation. ‘’Diandra! Come back here!’’ You shout, following the little girl as you avoid villagers and smallfolk alike.
You follow her through the village where the soldiers are holding up near the gates of the city. Two or three laugh when you two approach in your dresses and another scoffs, but you ignore them all.
Diandra has taken position by a crack of the gates. She has leveled her arrows through the hole, ready to impale her target from her horse.
She is aiming.
She is waiting.
You see a man approach the gates. He has dark hair, and you see a terrifying large creature behind him that eclipse the sun. A dragon is waiting back on the hills.
You heard rumors that she is the biggest dragon alive but rumors and seeing her with your own eyes are two different things. ‘’Let's see how easy you can bother villages without your eyes…’’ Diandra mutters, and you see her switch her bow to the man that approaches your town.
You have a split second to act.
So you do.
You tackle her to the ground, slamming the bow out of her hands and throwing your body on hers to protect her.
‘’No!’’ Diandra groans as the arrow misses him by a mere inch. The arrows land in the grass right beside his left feet. The man pauses and takes the arrow from the ground, as if he picks a flower.
He takes out a horn and blows it.
One time.
Two times.
Three times.
You feel an uneasy feeling grow as the little dots in the distance become bigger and bigger, and the army approaches your city.
‘’Are you mad?! He was going to offer us mercy!’’ You shout at Diandra.
She spits in your face before taking her bow back. ‘’There is no mercy from killers. You always were meant to be slave but I sure am not!’’ She shouts.
You don't even give her time to rethink her actions before you hit her across her face. She doubles over and clutches her face furious. She tries to attack you, but you simply step aside, letting her stumble. ‘’You're an idiot. That man came to offer terms. We will all die now!’’ You scream at her.
Two soldiers are needed to keep you both from hurting each other. Your father approaches as his soldiers hold you both apart, clearly disappointed.
‘’Diandra. What are you doing here?’’ You huff a bit. Of course he only cares for her wellbeing.
She has stupid hopeful eyes that fill you with pity. A stupid hopeful girl that never learns that men would never see her as an equal. ‘’I can fight, Father.’’ She speaks, easily freeing herself. She looks at him with big, hopeful eyes. ‘’I almost killed the man! I can fight. Let me fight.’’ She begs.
Your father scoffs, insulted and hurt that you both ruined this mission. This final chance at peace. ‘’You're a woman. Go home. You embarrassed me enough for one day.’’ You feel angry. Isn't he even a tiny bit proud?
You both get onto your horses as the army with the dragon banners reaches the final gate. Within a few mere moments, they have broken through the walls and gates. You watch as Diandra silently cries, tears of rage and broken dreams leaving her eyes… Until you follow her gaze to the open gate.
Diandra understands this is her chance.
And her moment.
Instead of running home, instead of retreating, the girl of 12 summers old, your sister, runs through the open gates into the battlefield.
She takes her crossbow and aims it, but before she can even kill one soldier, she is surrounded. You overhear what she is saying to the soldiers. You show your empty hands to the men who try to stop you. ‘’Please. That's my sister. Show me your honour, and let me try to save her.’’ You beg.
You fear they will kill you on the spot but the man that Diandra tried to kill, the man with the kind brown almost dark and certainly Dornish eyes speaks for you, protecting you. ‘’Very well. We will push the attack, so don't expect to return.’’ He warns you.
You don't listen to him and run past soldiers on foot and horse alike, past slayed soldiers and those who are still moaning in pain to where your sister is surrounded.
You hope you are not too late.
You hope your mission is not in vain. You approach your sister and overhear her insulting the soldiers that keep their weapons aimed at her. ‘’Who leads you, you disgusting pigs? Take me to him!’’ She demands as if this is her army.
You will kill that girl if she gets out of here alive. What is she even thinking? ‘’Diandra!’’ You shout, and she blushes as a little girl being scolded by her mother. A few soldiers turn their heads to you, surprised by your entrance.
The commander escorts you to her. ‘’Pigs, huh?’’ He says dryly. ‘’And who are you, little lady?’’ You thought you knew, but you aren't sure anymore. Who is your sister?
Diandra ignores him.
‘’Well? Are you deaf? Who commands you? I wish to speak to him. Now!’’ She shouts, causing one soldier to even flince. The commander sighs deeply before nodding to a man who approaches.
The fighting for the walls continues. The army of the Greens outmatches the army of Dolkburg greatly. You can even see the outcome for this point of the war. It won't even take a day. Perhaps three hours, that is if you are all lucky.
From the corner of your eye, you take in an all black dressed character with long silver hair, wielding an impressive long silver sword. A Targaryen. You almost instantly back away from him, stepping on the toes of the commander. ‘’Pardon me, Ser.’’ You mutter, but he didn't even feel your feet. His iron shoes protected him. The commander bows his head in respect for the Targaryen.
The Targaryen in question is a terrifying creature that looks as if he came walking straight out of a historic book about the first conquest of Westeros. You become aware of your increased heartbeat, and you avoid drawing attention to yourself.
You heard rumours.
You all had.
There are three green Targaryens with dragons. One is the king. He is a modest threat if he comes. One is the last born prince, he too would be a modest threat. But the second one, he is the deadliest with the biggest dragon of them all. He is known as the Kinslayer or one-eye.
And unfortunately for you, and your beautiful hometown, your family's lives and the lives of your friends and everything else that matters to you, that you hold so dear, this man is clearly covering up a missing eye with a black eyepatch.
The one-eyed Targaryen grins at your sister. ‘’I am right here, little lady.’’ He speaks full of mockery in a deep raw voice that sends chills down your spine. There is no humanity or kindness in his eyes. Only bloodlust. Madness. Insanity and rage. You know that all attempts at peace are lost.
Diandra seems taken back for a moment. Perhaps she is even truly afraid for a moment. But Diandra has never learned to live on her knees. She would rather die standing than live on her knees. She looks the prince up and down slowly, as if he’s a cow on the market. ‘’You're even uglier up close.’’ She says, shocking a few soldiers and even the commander.
The prince glares at her.
‘’I am flattered.’’ He speaks, not giving a damn. But his curiosity gets the better of him anyway. ‘’Who are you, and why do you wish to die so badly?’’ He speaks, taking out his sword.
Your sister lifts her chin. ‘’I am Diandra of house Dawreyn. You're attacking my home. It's you who is going to die.’’ You close your eyes quietly, praying. If he wasn't planning on killing her...
He sure is now.
The prince laughs in her face as some of the surrounding soldiers join in.
‘’Am I now? O, my. How unfortunate.’’ He speaks, eying his men with amusement in his remaining good eye. His men chuckle or laugh. Then that laugh vanishes, leaving behind a beast. He suddenly jumps forward, causing Diandra to stumble backwards. He grits his teeth at her. ‘’I have a dragon, you foolish cunt. Perhaps I'll keep you alive as entertainment for my men. You are too young to have sex with, but we can cut you up or make you a target practice. I do warn you: I can’t see very well..’’ He warns Diandra with those words.
You must interfere. ‘’That would be foolish. My sister speaks-’’Before you can finish talking, Diandra pushes you roughly aside, walking up to Aemond before taking out a small sword.
She exhales before speaking. So loudly that everyone can hear her. ‘’I challenge you to a duel.’’ She says, her voice unshaken, her eyes burning with hatred. ‘’That is, if you are man enough to face me.’’
Your eyes nearly pop out of your head. You hear cold laughter of the men. ‘’No! Diandra, no.’’ You tell her strictly. ‘’Diandra stop being foolish-’’ Diandra coldly turns around to face you.
The prince snickers as well, amused by this development and very eager to spill blood. ‘’'You? You want to duel me?’’ The prince wonders outloud. ‘’You have more balls than the other men, I give you that. But I can't hurt a little peasant girl as yourself.’’
Diandra spits at the genuinely disgusting few men. ‘’Yes. I will take your other eye and send it to your brother.’’ She groans, insulted and impatient. You don’t think she is even scared. That is not a concept she’s familiar with.
The prince sighs almost as if he's bored with the entire idea of fighting your sister. ‘’O, I'm not going to do that. That wouldn't be fun for me.’’ You suppose that is true. It would be boring and a very short duel. One-sided too.
Diandra is let go of by the command of the prince. She charges at him with her sword. ‘’Do it! Do it, you coward!’’ She shouts as the guards restrain her once more.
The prince continues his dramatics for quite a while, moaning about his boredom when behind him, near the gates your people are slaughtered as pigs. ‘’I was told there was going to be a battle, yet here I am with two annoying hostages. The one a mute, the other a talkative dumb child.’’ He murmurs as Diandra screams and kicks her attackers. You are frozen and can't move a single finger.
Another person rides into the battlefield. Karst. You see he is covered in blood and has fought his way to the frontlines. He rides up to the prince and glares at him. ‘’I assume you are the Kinslayer?’’ He spats. You are glad and fearful your brother is here.
The prince's good eye narrows. ‘’I am named Aemond.’’ And just like that, the demon has a name.
Karst nods. ‘’Aemond. Good. I'm Karst of house Dawreyn. My father demands the return of my sister, Diandra.’’ Your eyes roll, but you carefully compose your face. Of course he only cares about Diandra. ‘’Release both her and her septa and we can discuss the terms of your surrender.’’ You know that Karst only protects you by lying about who you are. Bastards aren't safe under Aegon's rule. But to call you a septa? That is a lie that even a one-eyed man will easily see through.
For a moment it's silent.
Birds chirp in the distance.
Clouds roll by.
Screams are the only thing you hear.
Screams and prayers.
Until that moment passes and the laughter, that stomach twisting laughter returns. It sends shivers down your spine, and if hell had a sound, that would be it.
It would be funny. Perhaps if the roles were reversed, you would laugh too. ‘’My surrender? I see stupidity runs in the family.’’ The prince comments. Perhaps it does.
Karst does not even blink. ‘’If you won't face a woman, surely you will face a man. Or are you a craven?’’ He grins at Aemond, taunting him by taking out his sword. ‘’I heard you are one of the youngest dragon riders out of your family.’’ You never heard that story.
The prince smirks, barely hiding his pride.
‘’You heard correct.’’
Your brother comes even closer. ‘’Yet, I heard your sister, the Queen Rhaenyra was even younger.’’ You bite your lips to avoid laughing at Aemond’s enraged face. Not only did Karst remind him of a old wound, but also made clear who your family is loyal to in the same breath, when pretending to praise the Prince’s ego. Karst cleans some blood of his sword, blood you know that belongs to Aemond’s men. ‘’Do us both a favor, and duel me so we can stop this unnecessary bloodshed.’’ He speaks, as a true leader of this town.
To that the prince nods. ‘’Very well.’’ He speaks. To his men he nods. They grab you and your sister before cleaning a large space for the duel.
Karst speaks with the words of a true hero. ‘’Whoever wins this duel, takes Dolkburg.’’ He says, making a very big gamble. A too big a gamble, perhaps. But Karst is a good fighter. He is skilled. Efficient. He is enough. He needs to be enough.
He continues as the prince remains silent. ‘’Three steps. Agreed?’’ So they will take three steps back before attacking.
The prince shrugs again that bored tone of his coming out. ‘’Tis fine with me.’’ He speaks.
Karst counts out loud as he takes steps away from the prince. You watch anxiously. You focus on Karst's metal boots. You see one step. And a second one.
But before he can place his feet down for the thirth, his feet stop moving, and you watch him collapse for your own eyes.
The prince stands behind him with his sword drawn where blood still drips from. ‘’And that would be three.’’ He grins at your brother. Aemond is speaking to a corpse.
Grief is a funny thing. You, for one, are horrified and frozen and clutch your throat to silence the cries that come out. When Diandra, screams at Aemond before her small legs pick up the pace and approach him quickly. Aemond simply turns, his sword in his dominant hand and waits with a grin for her to approach. Before he can chop her head off, the Dornish commander picks Diandra up by her hips. ‘’Let me go! I shall have my revenge!’’ Diandra screams, when kicking him. You are the commander very thankful. ‘’You are a monster!” She shouts at Aemond. He was staring at the corpses of his men and although you can’t quite tell what is going on inside his head, you can see he did not appreciate that comment.
‘’Diandra, shut up.’’ You beg her as the prince is reminded of you both. He already finds her annoying. He already is tested and challenged by her.
He sees you. Perhaps he did before. But now he acknowledges your existence. You shelter your sister, aware he will kill you both.
Aemond looks at the corpse of your brother. He smirks at your trembling legs and the way you cling tightly to your sister. ‘’My. You're a pretty one.’’ He speaks, surprising you. He takes in your simple gown approvingly, treating it as a seductive cloth made of silk.
It's a compliment. You aren't used to men flirting with you. You aren't used to any of this.
‘’I am not.’’ You say instead, shielding your sister by tightly holding her against your chest.
The prince chuckles, staring a little too long at your lips.
‘’I quite disagree.’’ He murmurs to himself. He steps closer to you and you can smell a permanent almost stench of rotten meat and dead bodies as he comes closer. ‘’I have never known a septa to dress in such a way. And I have met a lot.’’ He says.
You can’t imagine where a man like him met a septa.
‘’I have recently converted.’’ You hope he buys the lie. ‘’I chased her the moment I heard her ladyship was gone.’’ You tell the prince, nodding to your sister.
He does not seem to care about Diandra's noble lineage. And that scares you. He must care, if he is to keep her alive. Diandra will be a difficult young, useless hostage that insulted him countless times already. He must see her value. ‘’That's Diandra of house Dawreyn. She is worth a lot if you were to ransom her.’’ A ransom would mean he can't hurt her. Not too badly. And you know your father too well. He would pay soon and get Diandra back, ensuring her safety once more.
For a moment, a brief moment, it seems likely that Diandra will protest. Perhaps even call you a traitor. She is close to ruining it all. But instead, she likely understands that you know the best way to save you both.
The prince takes in Diandra's glares and silk riding gown. He sighs as if he has to admit to himself that you indeed tell the truth. You are thankful for the simple beige gown you picked out today. A simple gown without any stitches or designs or patterns who won't give away that you are a Dawreyn as well. He speaks, wettening his lips with his tongue. ‘’A woman of great schemes and great beauty. You are interesting.’’ There it is again. That gentle soft tone when he speaks to you. Yet it feels like a fox trying to lure a bunny out of its den. You know it's nothing more but a facade.
Yet you try to negotiate with him. You try to get on his good side. A tiny bit as much as your heart allows. ‘’I know she made a fool of you, and I know we insulted you both. Yet I beg you to let her be. She is still a child.’’ You hope he likes the dramatic touch of your begging. He seems to like dramatics.
Instead of giving you his word as a gentleman, he stares off into the distance of your hometown. You become uncomfortable and turn your gaze away from him. ‘’Are you betrothed?’’ He asks as his men are busy fending off soldiers that try to keep coming to you and Diandra.
‘’No.’’ You respond as you watch a single soldier be beheaded brutally. He survives the first attempt, and the blood splashes down his armor, and you can hear his screams before he bleeds out. The agreement remains. He won. Dolkburg is his. ‘’M-my prince, you can stop the fighting. We’ll let Lord Samwell know that you and Karst made an agreement-’’
His lips curl into a smirk as he briefly looks up from the moaning and screaming soldiers that beg for death and mercy. ‘’I have no intention to stop this battle.’’ He sounds almost happy. Glad, delighted and peppy. Not how you would expect.
You don’t understand. Why waste good men and resources on a fight already won? Why kill innocents? ‘’But..why ever not? You are clearly on the winning side. What good will it do?’’ You sound like a little foolish girl.
He grins, amused. ‘’You’re a woman, so I don’t expect your innocent and pure mind to understand the way I think. These men are traitors. They defied my brother and his reign. They will answer for their crimes with fire and blood.’’ You need to stop this. Now. You watch his sword, where the blood of your brother still drips down. This is insanity. ‘’Most men didn’t deny Aegon. You know this! Most men simply follow their lord. They don’t choose to die-’’ they don't even choose to follow their lord.
You might see it that way. But he does not. ‘’They made a choice. And they choose wrong. If you like, you can give them proper burial after since you are a septa.’’ You nod, unsure as to how you would even do so. You don’t know anything about septas or burials. And he knows it too, you can tell he was sarcastic.
‘’Married?’’ The prince asks as a casual follow-up. You ignore him as your father comes through the lines, pushing an army of soldiers through the broken gates. They fend off the first few guards. And they slay whoever is on their path. As they push forward, the other half of the army is riled up and follows them, with a powerful battle cry. Even the smallfolk has come out, rallied to their cause, with whatever weapons they could find. Some grab swords from fallen soldiers, others just use pans and knifes.
More and more soldiers on Aemond’s side die as the battle seems to turn.
Your lips begin to smile hopefully as Diandra applauds. Annoyed, Aemond glares at her. You are quick to stop her. ‘’I asked you something.’’ He groans when he grabs you by the throat. You are not choked but understand by the rage and insanity in his remaining good eye he is very close and tempted to do so.
‘’Are you married?’’ He repeats, almost spitting at you.
You are not sure why he asks. You are sure you don’t want him to know that you are unwed.
And you won't become his.
So you lie.
The word rolls easily over your lips as you pretend to think back of a love long lost. ‘’Widowed.’’ You speak your voice soft. ‘’He went to the Reach to fight. They say he was burned alive.’’ You know he was there. You know he killed and blazed dozens in the Reach. You hope he feels terrible about it. Yet he begins to smile again, careless and pleased.
‘’I can live with that.’’ He chuckles in your ear. ‘’A woman as gorgeous as yourself is too pretty to be a widow forever. It's past time you moved on.’’ He lets go of you, pleased you answered him but annoyed it took you so damn long.
You absently nod. Until you have the eerie feeling that he might be referring to himself.
Your father fights well and bravely. But to think he would win is a foolish thought. And eventually, he is captured and brought forward. ‘’Daddy!’' Diandra yells as they take him closer to her.
Almost happy with her, Aemond perks up and whispers something in the ear of a soldier close to him. The soldier runs off.
Aemond approaches Diandra and grabs a handful of her dark locks, causing her to cry out. He throws her on her knees and forces the blade he carries on her neck, ready to behead her any moment. ‘’That is a child!’’ You seem to be the only one disgusted by this.
He glares in your direction and another soldier grabs your arms. ‘’Do not harm the septa.’’ Aemond growls, warning him. The soldier lets go of you instantly. He turns his head to your father. ‘’Bend the knee or see your daughter die the way I killed your son as well.’’ Realization hits your father as the soldier brings Karst's head to him. Your father tears up helplessly as he nods. The head is tossed around between soldiers, before Aemond takes the skull of your brother and inserts his sword into the right eye of Karst.
Your sister is the child, the small one, the weaker one. You must protect her.
‘’Look away, Diandra!’’ You warn her, but it is too late. Diandra watches with her mouth open as Aemond cuts out one of the eyes of your brother, proudly as if its his trophy. Aemond laughs, taking in the eye.
Karst’s blue gorgeous and bright eyes.
‘’He had gorgeous eyes. I bet he fucked a lot of women, didn’t he?’’ He asks your father, and you are appealed at the audacity of him. Your father does not respond, silent tears running down both his cheeks. Aemond chuckles, before kicking your father against his kneecaps. ‘’You can be silent all you wish, I like silence. Helps me think.’’
‘’I bet he had his eyes set on the Septa here.’’ Aemond continues, gesturing to you. ‘’That’s why he rode into Battle, that’s why he challenged me. Not for his useless brat sister, but because he had a hard one for her.’’ Your own brother. You know he is lying. But just that thought, makes you sick. He sees your disgust and your glare and smirks. ‘’Does that disgust you? My apologies.’’
Your father croaks out. ‘’And my other daughter? What will you do with Y/N?’’ You close your eyes in fear as cold sweat breaks out. You hear Aemond's boots turn around to face you and you open your eyes. When you do you are confronted with his rage and his displeasure. You helplessly tear up. ‘’Please, I know she's a bastard but she is my daughter. Certainly you can make an exception for once. We can even pay you.’’ He offers. ‘’We have gold, plenty of women, animals for your dragon, you can even burn me, if you like. But not my children. She is good, so is Diandra. They are sweet kind girls-’’
You don’t know Aemond very well. But he does not seem to care even a bit about money. He cares about justice, about honor and revenge. Gold is not important to him.
Disgusted as if he burned himself or as if you are a disgusting thing, Aemond pushes you in the dirt next to your sister. The blade switches necks. You feel it cold in your throat. ‘’You shouldn't have lied to me.’’ He hisses in your ear, forcing you to feel the blade taunt and slightly touch your neck. You whimper. You don't want to die.
‘’Y/n!’’ Diandra cries.
Aemond ignores the protests. ‘’I've come to a wonderful conclusion: I will take this city, and I will take it in the name of my brother, King Aegon II.’’ That was to be expected. ‘’So, since you are the ruling family, you will all bend the knee to me and I’lll decide what I’ll do with you traitors later.’’ You can’t imagine he will let your father live. Diandra has one final thing to say.
‘’You are a coward! You attack our home, you harass my sister and you kill my brother and for what?! Because we wouldn’t bend the knee to your drunken cunt of a brother?! You Greens claim that Rhaenyra’s children aren’t true Targaryens, but at least they aren’t true monsters!’
Aemond takes a deep breath once she has finished speaking. ‘’The little brat annoys me. Perhaps she needs discipline.’’ You freeze and watch as a soldier grabs Diandra before hitting her multiple times across her face until blood streams from her nose and tears roll down her cheeks. He smirks, folding his hands on his back. ‘’Much better.’’
You are horrified, still on your knees as Aemond presses you further down in the mud. You make a wordless prayer to the gods. ‘’As I said: I will take this city. I will bestow mercy on everyone who bends the knee.’’ Aemond says, and you can’t help but frown. Part of you know he is lying to the masses. He is lying and playing them. You’ve seen earlier that Aemond does not care about the people he kills. Your father nods, hestiant at first but understands you don’t have a choice.
You finally get up from the ground, carefully looking at Aemond for approval. He does not seem to care nor notice you at all anymore.
He gives his soldiers instructions.
‘’Escort them to the bricks until I've decided that they can be released.’’ He speaks. ‘’Treat them with utmost respect. These people are nobility.’’ He warns the guards. A few nod, and your family is escorted away from you. Diandra cries your name when she is escorting to your home, where she will be held as a prisoner. ‘’Y/n! No!’’
Aemond sighs. The commander comes up to him. ‘’We rounded up around 300 survivors. And around 800 wounded men.’’ That is a joke compared to the troops that Aemond has. You don’t know his exact numbers but one glance behind you, and you don’t have to. You can count.
The prince thinks.
‘’Hm. Put the wounded out of their misery. And bring the survivors to the city gates.’’ He is going to kill the survivors. You know he is. That is why he wanted your father gone, he pretended to care so your father would go quietly. Since Aemond is distracted with the surrender of your hometown, you easily slip past a few guards, quickly putting distance between you and him.
You are almost at the gates when a hand grabs your arm, pulling you back. ‘’No! No, I don't want to go back!’’ You beg whoever holds your arm. You look straight into the face of the commander. He has a sorrowful pitiful look in his eye as he drags you back to Aemond who is waiting where you left him.
‘’On your knees.’’ He commands you the moment you are in front of him. He takes out the same sword he killed your brother with. He will kill you the same way.
‘’Why?’’ You whisper as a craven. ‘’I don’t want to die.’’ You confess softly.
His good eye rolls again, and he hisses at his soldiers. ‘’Help that simple woman.’’ He tells his guards and soldiers. Two men eagerly force you on your knees in front of the prince.
‘’I was so disappointed when I found out you had left my side.’’ He speaks the moment you are pushed on your knees. ‘’I thought you were smarter than to run away from me.’’ You are shocked for a brief moment. No one ever called you smart before. No one.
You huff, insulted and perhaps it helps that you know you will die: You have nothing left to lose. There is nothing you can say to hurt yourself even more. ‘’I saw the way you let go of me. You don't find me attractive anymore. I'm just a dirty bastard. Why waste your time with me? You’ll kill me eventually.’’
He chuckles, in a light, delighted manner. ‘’Kill you? No, no. That would be a shame of a pretty face.’’ Your face is touched, almost gently caressed and you are confused and terrified. You rather be with your family in a cell, than here. ‘’Now, I'm afraid that there is a punishment due for you.’’ He says, and he can’t hide his smirk.
You open your mouth to protest. Aemond takes the sword he killed your brother with, and makes sure that fresh blood is stained on the blade by running the sword, almost coating it in the blood of your brother by slashing open his corpse. The blade is now covered in crimson, red dripping blood. Aemond brings the blade to your face. He gently tilts his head and when he looks you in the eyes you know you have two choices. Submit or die. ‘’Lick my sword.’’ He says.
You hesitate. ‘’That is my brother. That is…disgusting.’’ You protest. Licking his blood, disrespecting his corpse and tasting his blood: it is all too much for you. You burst into tears.
Aemond sighs. ‘’As a Targaryen, I don’t quite see the issue.’’ He jests, causing the commander to chuckle, as well other soldiers. ‘’You can lick this sword or you can get on your pretty knees and die.’’ He says, carelessly.
You hope he does not cut your tongue out with it. You lick the edge of the blade, softly careful not to hurt your own tongue. Aemond watches, his breath stuck in his throat as you gently lick the blood clean of his blade. You feel disgusted and sick after it, and you must to all you can to avoid throwing up. Aemond moves the sword, into his seath.
‘’You see that, men? These women have no self-respect, no dignity, no value. They are as sheep in the meadow, ready for a good ram to fuck them.’’ He speaks to the masses of the army he commands, using you as a example. You whimper when Aemond grabs you by the throat.
He throws you on your knees in front of him.
‘’Kiss my boots.’’ He hisses. ‘’Show me your obedience and you won’t be killed.’’ He promises you. ‘’Kiss them, or I will fly my dragon over your hometown and burn everything and everyone that you hold dear to ash.’’ You bend your head and leave two kisses on each his boots. You recoil when you taste the disgusting mud he walked through.
Aemond grabs you from the ground, by the throat and roughly kisses you. You protest and try to flee him, but he holds you too tightly to escape. You are made a spectacle of. This is not desire, this is power. ‘’Tell the men this one won't be hurt or touched without my approval. She's mine.’’ He barks at the commander and leaves with a posessive smack on your ass. You flinch, whimpering.
You understand your fate very well. The prince lifts your teary cheeks and kisses your lips, gentle and soft this time. A horse is brought to you both. ‘’You’ll ride with me.’’ He tells you. ‘’When we are riding through the city, you’ll hold your brother’s head for me. You hold it above your head, you show it around and you make sure that every fucking villager in this piss-forgotten-shithole understands who’s in charge now.’’ He groans in your ear.
You nod, terrified. His face and voice softens. ‘’I am so glad I found you before I sacked this place.’’ You hate that word with a burning passion. ‘’You might have gotten hurt.’’ He makes his voice soft when speaking to you, almost seductive and sweet. ‘’I might be staying a while. I hear the nights are dark and cold here. I need someone to keep me warm.’’
You don’t respond, not thrusting yourself to not cry. ‘’And who’s better fitted for that, than a nameless, bastard who dared to lie to me?’’ He lifts your chin so he can count the tears in your eyes, before they fall and roll down your cheeks.
‘’Get on the horse.’’ He says, commanding you. You clumsily climb on the horse, waiting for his further instructions. He climbs on the same horse, and wraps his bloodied hands around your waist, staining your dress. He takes the reins of the horse and directs it to where the majority of the survivors are rounded up.
You hold the head of your brother as a few soldiers from your father’s troops recognize you. Your hands shake yet you won't let go of your brother’s head. Aemond makes sure that you are surrounded by guards loyal to him before leaving. You remain alone at the castle gates, under guard.
Aemond finally returns, with his dragon. He commands the survivors to be brought outside. You are forced on your knees in the grass, between bloodied bodies, missing body parts and arrows. Because he wants you to see and to remember well what comes next. He starts with the survivors who are the most injured. An old man around your father’s age can’t walk because of his bleeding legs. ‘’Let me help with you that.’’ Aemond offers the man a hand. The man smiles, through his pain. Aemond quickly takes out his sword instead, slashing at the injured leg until the plain muscle holding his leg together as thin threads is cut and the man screams. He collects the leg and feeds it to his dragon. After that, he feeds the man the leg belonged to.
Aemond forces around dozens of people to his dragon. Some are roasted first, screaming as they burn in their armor. Some are chopped up, cut up, slashed up, everything to make the meal sweeter for Aemond’s beloved Dragon. You remain on your knees, sobbing with every new victim for mercy by Aemond. Instead of doing so he grins, leaning and gives you his even more bloodied sword to lick clean. ‘’Save your voice, little Y/N. You are going to need it badly once we are alone.’’

ASHES BURN! DARK BOOKAEMOND X READER 18+ MDNI
Tags: Dark! Aemond x Captive bastard reader, fingering, canon typical violence, hurt, blood, mentions of seed, fucking, abuse, degrading, aemond enjoying hurting reader more than he should and overall its a dark smutty chapter. Reader has traumas. Rough sex, aemond has also traumas.
🔷Summary: After the capture of your home town, Aemond demands to meet you in the library where terrifying conclusions are made, and battle plans and loyalties crumble to dust.
🔷Author's note: Dark.
wordcount: 8001 words.
You Spent the rest of the day with a needle and a bit of yarn. You try to pick up your former hobby. You enjoyed knitting before. But something about how the needle goes into the yarn is too confronting. Never before did you see it this way but you could easily compare it to a knife going into a limb. An unpleasant reminder.
Today was horrible in all accounts.
After you denied his wishes and fought for your sisters freedom, Aemond became much less interested in you. He seemed to ignore you, ordering you to be washed and then to be put away somewhere you “couldn't stick that annoying bastard nose” in his business again.
No matter how hard you try to fight it, no matter how much you pretend to be over it, the needle becomes a sword wielded by two hands with long fingers covered in blood. Aemond's hands.
Thankfully the image fades.
The fingers change.
And soon you are looking at your own hands covered in blood. Your hands shake, trembling with unforseen consequeces to your own actions.
There's a knock on the bedroom. It startles you. It's silly. It's stupidty and cowardice but all sounds somehow have gained the power to make you flinch. Something has changed in the way the sounds hit your senses. You are on edge like noway before.
All too well you remember what he said before you were dragged off. That he'd expected you again tonight. You thought you served him well yesterday. And this morning. So why does he want it again tonight? Surely whatever you're giving him, cannot be this good? You had no experience. He took away your only chance of learning anything by banning you from going to women who have these rare experiences.
Another knock reminds you time is ticking.
You stand up, knocking the yarn basket over on accident. Black and green yarn balls roll through the room. It spread throughout the room, creating a mess. You curse as you try To stop the yarn from rolling. It feels as if you are the cat chasing the mouse. But the mouse gets away every time. Life, in a way, is slipping away from you too. You are confronted with fears unlike others you faced and hold power and options you never thought possible. Yet you never wanted it.
With haste you put it back in the basket, as you doubt whoever is there has any patient left for you.
It does not take long before the door is thrown open, and a man in armor enters. Its not Aemond and you do recongize him from the gathering where Aemond tried to sell your sister's maidenhead. His face isn't handsome. His hair isn't long and blonde. His eyes aren't piercing and his smile isn't charming nor devious. He isn't Aemond.
You fold your hands in front of your belly to hide the fact they are shaking. Your voice becomes a mirror of imitation of your stepmother. You try to sound as fearless as she is. But your voice shakes. “Yes?”
He looks around the room briefly.
Then back to the hall.
You consider running past him.
He considers something too.
But he decides it's not worth it as he softly shakes his head. You wonder what that was about. He instead gestures for you to follow him. “Prince Aemond has requested your presence in the newly renovated library.” your eyes widen.
When did he manage to even do that?
Not even half a day has passed.
You suppose Aemond does have little patience and time for useless servants. He said so himself plenty of times.
He walks away assuming you'll follow blindly. but you remain there, frozen and in doubt. He slowly stalks back and looks you up and down. “If you don't come quietly I am allowed to use violence. Touching royals is a act of treason. If King Aegon heard what you did to his brother, his kin…” He makes a cutting gesture above his own throat.
You follow.
At long last.
The halls are filled with judging eyes and glares. People who blame you for problems you only ever tried to solve.
The library has been improved. If you can call it that. Maas big stuffed animal toys have been replaced by a gigantic intimidating wooden war table with stone horses and old maps. Aemond is busy placing a three Headed green dragon at a spot as you are escorted in. Sickening green banners are hanging on the walls, as soldiers in armor walk by and drink from iron cups.
You cannot help but always be on the lookout for the Prince. He is surrounded by soldiers and important men who no doubt advice him at this important moment. You make yourself tiny so he doesn't see you, blending in against the walls. The kind commander is next to him. He moves another dragon up to the green one, and the two of them seem to discuss something. “It must be confusing to you,’ the Soldier next to you comments cruelly as if you are dumb. You don't respond. He grabs you by your waist. You flinch, glaring. “You are only sucking Aemond's cock. You haven't gotten an idea what we are planning.” Do you have to?
“You're as much as his slave as i am.” You remark not breaking eyecontact and containing a cold calculated glare. “I am not sure what kind of things you think but Aemond would burn you alive if it meant keeping his boots warm.” You remind him firmly whispering.
He punishes you by ripping a petal off your skirts. “No matter how well you dress, you'll always be a whore. We will know the difference. You can pretend all you like but at the end of the day we see right through you. You are not a Lady you are a bastard born girl pretending to be.” He says before leaving. The words cut through your heart. You know he is right.
You tried to help others and it failed.
You tried to help yourself and it failed.
You only burned yourself and got punished. Why should you care what nightmare they inflict? You just want the never ending pain to stop. To wake up one day and pretend it was nothing but a unpleasant dream.
The Commander notices you at long last, his brown eyes going back to the map almost instantly as if he's afraid to give your location and presence away. He steps closer, whispering in the prince's ear. You don't see the blue eye glued to the map change or move. But you do see the cold lips that ordered the murder of your loved ones slowly grow into a familiar smirk. He knows you are here. You feel your stomach turn as he finally looks up, addressing you. Your knees shake. Your stomach rumbles. Your knees comply as you force them into a curtsy.
Aemond doesn't say a word, but simply a gesture is enough to dismiss everyone in the room. You make another curtsy now that you are alone in his presence. “My prince, you-” you take a deep breath trying to get a grip of your nerves. “You wanted to see me?”
He doesn't respond. He just stares at you.
You become uncomfortable, pulling your nails. He watches that for a moment before he grabs your hands. “Stop that.” You notice a strange tone in his voice. He tries to hide it by acting careless the next moment. “What do you think, Pet? Do you like this hole better now?” You look around again, missing your sigil. Despite never having the privilege to have it be yours. You miss the colours. You miss the silly axe. You miss the rose field and the waterfall. You miss it so terribly that it hurts to take a next breath. Your chest reminds you that you are alive. Whatever that is worth.
You shake your head. He chuckles with laughter liking your honesty. “I figured you wouldn't. Come, let me show you around.” He says as if he owns the place. You obediently come closer to the prince following him as a lost puppy dog. He walks to the big table with the maps. “This is the best addition. A war table. We were missing one. Your uneducated family never quite bothered to have one.” He frowns as if he finds that silly and chuckles.
Your mouth opens and your voice comes out. “We are obedient servants of the realm and our warden, my Prince. We didn't need war tables.” You explain. You just did what the Tullys did. You did what the realm did. It was all so simple. And now it's so complicated. For the realm is divided. A realm is bleeding and being torn to shreds.
Somehow, the prince thinks you must have lectured him. “You must mistake me for the rats you speak so freely to,” he grits out when grabbing you by your waist. “I was hoping some time alone in that room did something to smoothen your tongue.” He glances at your gown. A small gift from your sister. It has soft green colours with golden details and silver tiny bows on the skirt. You tremble as he judges it.
There is a chance he won't like it.
She picked it out for you after washing you.
You appreciated how gentle she was, despite the awkwardness. She seemed to have put a lot of thought into this dress, as you recall being naked for at least ten minutes as she picked the best dress to wear.
“I send you here for a reason.’ He says, as you feel close to fainting in your expensive new dress. “You must know more of this strategic place. You know it's weaknesses and it's strength. You will help me keep this miserable shed.”
There should be fear in your heart by those words. Truth is there is none. For you have one thing you cannot for the life of you figure out. Something he said the day you met him, the day Karst died on that field. Something he repeated many times. Dolkburg is a shithole, a hellhole, a place only useful for sheep and women who like to be fucked as sheep. He said that. Time and time and time again. So many times that you wanted him to shut up and take his leave.
He plans on holding it.
He plans on expanding the war happening here. He wants to bring more death and doom to your beloved town. “Why?”
That is your question.
You stumble backwards as if invisible hands just shoved you for daring to speak up. You see the same confusion mirrored in that one lonely now narrowed cold eye.
He blinks. He opens his mouth quickly.
“Because I said so, and you do as I want.” He says, reminding you of his power. But this time it falls flat as you shake your head, looking at him in a different light.
You don't see the importance of Dolkburg. You love the people, the animals, the culture, the way the rain smells and how the snow falls here. For you, personally it has importance. For Prince Aemond however…. “Dolkburg is known from sheep. You said so yourself. You said,” you shake as you tear up. “You said we are all sheep ready to be fucked.’ He avoids your eyes suddenly. “I didn't want to hear it. But it's true, isn't it? There is no true importance to Dolkburg. You said sheep make good soldier clothing but why did you really attack us?”
“That is my business.” He grits out, suddenly.
“I've heard enough. You didn't like my gifts. You didn't like the fact I didn't had your sisters fucked until they couldn't sit anymore and you don't like that I spared your people. Maybe I should put some more people into the ground to remind you of your place. Maybe your sisters should be passed around. Maybe I'll begin with your little sister. As I said she's too young to fuck, so we'll use her as arrow target instead.” Diandra would die you are aware. But you cannot help but be selfish.
You feel your hopes crumble. You never get a answer to why he picked Dolkburg to commit these crimes. You never will have peace for yourself that it was unavoidable. For he simply refuses to tell you.
For all his flaws, you never once thought him a craven. Now he has proven to you that that is what he truly is. A man afraid of a shadow. You wanted closure to the open wounds that kept you up at night. You have been obedient to him. And he refuses the simplest question of all. You look him in the eye. “I suspected you were a monster the day we met. I just never thought you were a craven too.” He seems shocked at this insult.
Then he chuckles.
And the next moment you feel him hit your cheek as your face turns by the impact of his slap, and you taste blood on your ripped lips. You slowly feel your lips, seeing the blood you tasted yourself. He steps forward. “I'll show you what a great craven I am. Since you enjoy getting fucked too much, I need to think of another crueler punishment.” You already think it too cruel. “Fucking you doesn't do anything. It just makes you wet.” he sounds disgusted and so are you. Because he is right. “I know. I went to see the sheep farmers today. They have the most fun little thing they do with their sheep. To ensure all know what sheep belongs to whom.” he chuckles. “Branding, they call it. Ownership. It's done with fire. I quite like that. I happen to adore fire.” You know what he speaks of. “And, ownership, well you've seen in person how it rouses my desires.”
You know something is coming and you are still too late to act. He grabs you by your necklace, dragging you on to the lit fireplace. You think of his words and battle, begging for mercy as he throws you on your knees, too close to the logs that are being burned.
You scream into the flames and beg for your life. He just chuckles, holding you not close enough to burn you but you are afraid he'll push you in any given second or moment. You beg and cry, whimpering for mercy. He finally pets your cheeks, as he studies you in the light of the burning flames. “Will you obey? Do you appreciate your very privileged position now? Or do I need to take a hot poke out and make my mark on your little body, mhm?” He touches your neck with the cold poke, causing you to shiver.
You give a nod, crying. He grabs you by your hair tighter and makes sure his hands feel your breasts before releasing you painfully as a doll he no longer wants to play with. “Good.’ you breathe of relief as you begin to gather your racing thoughts and clutch your chest. “I didn't bring you here to fuck. You'll do as I ordered you.” He walks back to the war table, watching you follow him with your eyes. “I want to bring in soldiers. We can do so via the gate since it's cut off from the sea.”
“Even more? There are already so many to feed.” You don't understand why he needs so many men to hold such a small unimportant keep.
But he doesn't appreciate your opinion.
“Just be glad its feeding you'll be doing and not fucking. Your little friends will be taken from back to front. Just be glad I made you mine.” He allows his hands to go under your dress to touch your body. “And I want to know, you spoke of a treasure earlier. I want to know where all the good things are. I want the gold, the jewels. Anything we can use.” You don't answer him. He sighs, cleaning your face as the warmth of the fireplace is still somehow very close.
You feel your face where the swollen side betrays where he hit you. You look at him.
“Will you leave the girls alone then?” You whisper hopeful. “You have me then?”
You expect another rapid smack but just feel him touch your face. “You cannot help them all, little Lamb. I am fine with your sisters not being raped, because quite frankly; I don't see the appeal. My men want you tied to the well at the town's square so they can take turns raping you, to the point you'll either die naturally or by their violence.” He doesn't bother to whispers this, making sure you hear every awful word. “Of course, I am against that. My lamb is mine. If I tie you to the well I'll be the one doing the fucking me and me alone.” He reminds you firmly. You think of the soldier that ripped your dress. You doubt he'd like to know that.
He doesn't say a word as he removes your clothes from your body. He just caresses your face as you sit there, your cunt wet and visible. You feel him slowly caress your back, his gloved hands teasing you. You feel the leather unpleasant and cold. “I am stressed, my lamb. Fucking you tires my thoughts.” He confesses and you are surprised he would admit such a thing. You look up, confused how to offer your support and if he wants that to begin with. Or rather why. You think of how awful the morning began with you being impaled by his cock time after time as you took it, moaning and whimpering as your vision blurted and your eyes became as wet as your treasonous cunt. You don't want to have that experience again.
“We can go back to the bedroom. I'll draw you a bath and you can enjoy it first before we lay together again.” You suggest. He is quiet for some time taking in something on the war maps. You don't think he heard you at all. Until he chuckles.
The way his eye widens warns you plenty by now. His hands go to the familair positions. His back, or in front of his body. Its a habit of him when he wants to be intimidating. It works. You know its a trick and yet it works flawlessly on you.
“So you can stab me when I'm unarmed?” You release a soft sigh at that comment. Yes. That was your masterplan. Kill the man who can restrict the brutes plundering and destroying your home town. That will surely go well. You want to snap at him.
But you don't.
“Come on then, speak. Talk back to me.” He challenges you. He knows you want to. He can see the anger in your eyes. Anger you try to hide so well.
But that is stupid.
“It'll only get me into trouble, my Prince.” He just chuckles, caressing your face.
“But you like trouble, little Lamb.” he looks around inspecting the room. “This is one of the nicer rooms. You can tell your family liked it here.” For some reason he suddenly changed the topic back to your family. You wonder what reason he has for that. You wonder what gave it away to him. “The war table is my favourite new part. I quite like it a lot.’ He allows his hands to feel the sturdy table, testing the wood as he shakes it violently as if testing it.
You wonder for what. You notice the door is closed. A soldier did that. You are alone with him in a room again. Your legs begin to walk as if they have a mind of their own. Your steps are soft and delicate as a bunny sneaking around the wolf's den. Aemond doesn't notice. You almost make it to the door. Almost.
“You can't leave yet. You have to try out the table too.” He insists, collecting you gently and escorting you to the confusing maps.
“How? I cannot read maps.” You admit. “I was never taught.” You don’t want to admit it but you feel ashamed. “Lady Fyiona might help you better.”
He just stubbornly puts your hands against the table. Then your body is lifted and held down so your torso covers the map. “My prince, this is highly inappropriate. What will your soldiers think when they find me here?’ You beg already terrified of the thought of them walking in on this.
He puts your cunt right on the map.
“That's exactly where we are. Your little cunt is covering Dolkburg.” He chuckles cruelly. “Just as in the present. Your cunt is all your value to me.” You know that's true.
“I cannot serve well at this table.” you warn him in blind panic. “I just got used to the bed.’ You admit your voice a breakable soft whimper.
He crosses his arms.
“I am aware. You are not to serve today. You are here to obey and to be taken. You have little to want here.” He reminds you coldly and you wonder why he upholds this illusion where you both pretend only one of you wants this. While you obviously have enjoyed his company too.
He has little care for decorum. Just two of his fingers slowly touching you.
“Feel it.” You do.
You feel his gloved hands on your hips again as he takes a deep breath. You steady yourself.
You eye the battle plans behind you. “You spent much time arranging this. I am sure it's important. We can find a better-” he knocks the dragon off the table, on purpose before advancing. He grabs your waist, lifting you half on the table with your upper body. You are captured there and held down. You hear the belt unbuckle and the leather gloves be removed. You feel a soft smack on your butt and his voice thundering in your ear.
“I'll fuck you here and now.” He decides panting with arousal as he removes his shirt.
You give a soft nod your cunny clenching. Your cunt must be easy to reach for him. You feel his hands on your hips and then you feel the familiar painful trust as he groans gently, warning you he has entered. You finally manage to relax your muscles so it doesn't hurt as much.
He still hurts a bit. You underestimated that. Gentle cries and tries to change position only result in painful spankings with his hand and disturbing chuckles from him. He likes it. He likes hearing your offended gasps and little cries as you endure.
You stare at him, taking him as best as you can after these days you had.
You roll your hips, trying to take what he gives you, as he takes you on the war table. The figurines are made of stone shake with every hard thrust he gives. You want to reach your height. You deserve it. Your eyes begin to water as he keeps taking you so violently.
“Such a whore.” He says when he spanks away. You nod, agreeing. Tears sting but you like it. You need to feel and deserve the ire he feels. The worst part is he knows. “You want to be in bed?”
He shakes his head. “And have your little cunny fucked again tonight, after being so disobedient? I think I'll do something else with you tonight.” He says thoughtfully. You feel his hands caress your behind. “Nothing has changed between us. You are my lamb. I'll fuck you senseless and just because you enjoy what I do with your body doesn't make me your lover or your friend. It just makes you pathetic and a good for nothing whore.”
“Angry are we? The truth does hurt.” That is why he hit you. Because he knows it deep down too. He is a craven. He is a craven who hides his cowardice by killing. You saw it at the field with Karst. How he cheated. You saw it with your father, how he killed the man just to send a message. And you see it now so clearly.
He stops to touch your behind.
“I'll have this hole soon too. It belongs to me regardless of your tantrums. Mine to fuck and to soil.” He whispers when circling it. You shiver and tremble. “In fact, why don't I show you, for your disobedient behaviour?” He smacks down with his full hand and you can only cry out. He does again and again and you keep crying for less. Or more.
You become overwhelmed by your desires and your wants. You like it too much. You shouldn't in any way. But you forget the pain of your bleeding heart when he's inside of you. You forget you are a worthless unloved bastard girl without a future when a Prince is taking you. Forcing yourself to relive the horrors he inflicted would be torture so you don't. Not when you are given an escape from it all.
His grunts become deep and animalistic. His hands tighten on your body as he braces himself. You try your best to get there too so you can finish alongside him. You chase that satisfaction. But as always he's faster and crueler handling you and coming with a brutal thrust that shatters your core. You whimper out loud as he exhales, still deep within you. He picks you up by your hips and takes you slower this time wiping away tears you didn't realize had fallen. You try your best to follow his lead and to find pleasure yourself. Your hips work to take him but without his stiffness its harder for you. Less rewarding too.
And all together you both stop. He has reached his pleasure. So he is done with you for tonight. He seems distracted. You wonder if you did help him calm his thoughts.
“I would've recalled if I ripped that off. How did you lose it?” He asks, pointing at the little flower that was ripped off on your dress. You are taken back by the question. You didn't suspect he would notice. That he would care.
You open your mouth trying to find an answer. Death. It'll result in death. “Lamb, I'm asking a question.” He says when firmly lacing his boots. You think of him tying your hands together just as firmly and shake the thought away.
You decide to be honest. Aemond won't discipline the boy anyway. One of his soldiers crimes resulted in the suicide of a servant. He won't do anything. “One of your soldiers. The one you sent to fetch me. He …he dragged me with him. I wasn't fast enough so he decided to punish me by destroying the dress.” You admit softly. “He said it could dress in the finest silks but I would never be a lady. I'd always be a whore and men would always know the difference.” You expect Aemond to laugh and agree. He is just quiet.
He is unreadable in fact.
Nervously you pick your nails and instantly stop it remembering his warning earlier. “I-I tried to explain that he-” you begin nervously. “He had no right to me or the dress. I did try to tell him I am yours, my Prince. There should be but one man destroying my dresses.”
“Mhm.” He sounds pleased. Good. Relieved, you sigh carefully smiling as well. “I suppose I should reward you for that.” He says with a sigh and an eyeroll. He sits down first. You are confused and follow him curious for your reward. You yelp as he grabs you, placing you on his lap. You are facing him now. You are aware you are on top.
You are shocked by the unfamiliar roles between the two of you. You feel confused and as much as a maiden as the first time. He looks back from below you, where you are atop and in full control. “I know you're still wet.” You study his pink lips closely as he speaks. “Go Finish.”
Hesitantly you buck your hips, taking his cock.
You let out a soft exhale not expecting it to feel this good. “Don’t you want to be the one doing this?’ You ask within the first few thrusts. He grins as he sits up a bit, making sure to have some sort of authority still. You are given a soft buck back that hits all the way as you gasp loudly.
“I am content. It's past time you worked for your pleasures and privileges.” He says. You nod agreeing despite not feeling that way at all. Your hips go faster as you take deeper penetrations from him. Your mouth produces sounds you didn't know it could make as you chase your satisfaction. Your hips hurt but you don't give up.
He joins. He grabs your hips and answers your thrusts just when you need it and are at a loss. Your cries sharpen and he doesn't stop just there. He has come to finish you off. You are taken roughly and cry once and twice before he forces you to come on his cock, sending out a satisfied cry and a happy soft hop. Aemond grunts too as you finish, placing your exhausted body next to him on the couch. You feel your sweating forehead and stare at him. He just circles your breasts refusing to look at you.
Something that seems to be a common theme between the two of you. When the sparks have sizzled out and hate is all that remains. A knock on the door sends you up. Aemond is quick to act too, covering your breasts and parts with his own shirt. He reaches for the sword. “What kind of assassin would knock?” You ask. Unless it's some sort of trick. But you doubt an Assassin has any time for tricks. And you also doubt they come in through the front door.
He glares.
But then he does seem to agree with your stance and puts the weapon away. He perfects himself sitting on the couch as he calls in whoever's awaiting. It's the Commander. You wonder what he wants.
Aemond's butt briefly covers your view as he throws a blanket over your body, snarling as he covers you. He is mad this moment was interrupted. You would never dare to admit it to a living soul. But as brief as it was, you enjoyed the cuddle session. You know in your heart that it's wrong and disturbing. But you did enjoy him holding you and being gentle.
“Ser Criston. I suppose you never had a woman; but when she cries out like that it's best to not interrupt the man enjoying her.” He informs his commander. You feel more warmth on your face as you nervously touch it. The commander gives a practiced nod at the Prince muttering an apology.
Aemond's good eye goes up and down as he takes in Cole's calm but stoic stance. You become aware of it too, tensing up. The commander won't just have come for minor complications. Something has happened downstairs.
“There has been an attack.” You cover your mouth horrified. Whatever power you had left in your arms is quickly taken from you. You see Aemond tense up. You sit up on the bed, trying to reach for your gown. Aemond only needs to glare to remind you of who decides when you dress. “We are still counting the bodies. We did kill some of the bandits. But others got away with food from the kitchen. Food we desperately need.”
He steps closer to the commander, only wearing his trousers. “I have hundred and eighty men stationed here. Are you telling me a bunch of peasants got the better of the King's soldiers?” The Commander avoids looking at the Prince, his brown eyes traveling to your own eyes.
Aemond steps closer still, forcing the Commander to look him in the eye. “Answer me!” The commander flinches briefly at the volume but does nod, accepting that Aemond deserves an answer. He speaks carefully.
“The bandits are loyalists to the Lady's father. The former Lord of Dolkburg.” You don't know what you are hearing. You suspected your father's loyalists died at the gate. Died at the battles. But they've risen up. For him. For what is right. Despite the evil in the world, the roots of Goodness cannot be uprooted. It'll find a way. Always.
The prince sees it differently than you do. He sees it as treason and annoyance. He knows they cannot be a big force to face. “Have those pathetic fucks not seen how I've made his own flesh kill him? How I've fucked his precious little daughter on her knees and shown her off to the square and she came on my cock? He is dead. There is nothing left to rebel for.” Your lips briefly open so you bite your bottom lip to stop yourself from doing foolish things. For saying foolish things you want to scream and shout until your voice runs out and the air has left your chest. Words you had forgotten to speak, forgotten to think all seem possible and are known to you once again.
Ser Criston cannot agree with the Prince's brash words. You know they differentiate too much in that way. Despite one of them being of Royal blood, only one of them has acted princely. “They think differently.” He pauses unsure if he needs to continue this. “It appears the treatment of the girl only adds to the fire of anger.”
Your hope dies the moment Aemond turns his head back to you, anger burning. You shake your head already afraid as you tear up. They blame him. Which means …He'll blame you. “They can have her once I'm done with her. Not a moment sooner. Get these rebels found and rounded up. I'll have them watch me fuck my pet before forcing her to slit their throats.” He declares, sending Cole on his way again. He then turns to you. You shake your head afraid already.
You whimper afraid as he presses your head into the mattress. “P-please, I didn't command them. I didn't know anyone was still alive supporting my father.” You blurt out instantly. “I am good, I am loyal to you my Prince. I appreciate the privileges you've bestowed me and my sisters. I wouldn't dare take it for granted you know this, my prince, please.”
He just remains silent and somehow it is worse than any insult he could've called you. You beg in tears, as some hound. “Please, my Prince. Accept my sincerest apologies. It went well between us and I thought-”
“What did you think, little worthless slut?” Your jaw drops and closes instantly as he leans in, capturing your face with his long fingers. “Did you imagine me growing soft and gentle? Do you think I'd fall in love with you, cloak you and make you my lady? Did they drop you on your head as a babe? You're a bastard worthless whore. Your only privilege is carrying and mayhaps popping out my child, if I let you live that long.”
He sighs as you hold back your sobs. Without any reason or explanation he buries his fingers inside your cunt again, fucking you dry against his hands. He grabs your butt, forcing your hips to roll as you are pleasured. Tears of confusion and pleasure roll down your cheeks as he continues to take you for a good few moments. Then he has had enough judging by his slight increased breathing. You want to roll away and receive it laying.
“No.” He hits your behind with his hands, sending familiar tingles down your spine and legs. He grunts again as he finds your cunt, taking it sharply. He feels tighter and aggressive. He feels angry.
You know why and you find it cruel. You deny yourself the feeling. He chuckles only harder and grabs your face. You struggle to breath as he brings his mouth close to your ear and licks away your tears, when firmly kneading your breasts. “You are wet, filthy pet of mine.” He grunts in your ear. “Say it. Say you're a fifty pet.”
Killing so far arouses him, but he also likes how afraid you become and when you grovel for him, complying to the wicked commands and humiliate yourself in the process.
“I am a filthy pet.” You repeat after the Prince. He burst into laughter, amused at your shaking and fear. He grunts as he grabs your butt forcing you to take his erected red swollen length. “You'll do anything for me. You're so deliciously pathetic. Its why I can just force my cock down your cunt and have your people starve when I'm fucking you so violently you loose precious blood.” He kisses your cheeks after speaking these awful words.
“Now come. I know you've used the pleasure as a escape. Go on then. Escape for now and the return to the cage that is reality will hit only harder.” he is right. You know he is. Yet you take this escape. You eagerly buck against his front, taking it as much as you can.
“There she goes. The whore of Dolkburg.” He cruelly grins. “Do as you must, little pet. Ride out that small bit of triumph you feel now. Feel how my cock ravages your insides and feel how it only makes that cunt of yours wetter.”
“Please, my prince.” you beg. You aren't sure for what you beg. Are you begging him to stop or to continue, to have mercy or to punish you? To make him finish you or to make the torture stop?
There is a dangerous glimmer in his eye as he sighs, grabs something from the couch and instead of warning you he slashes it on your butt, causing you to bolt. He holds you tighter and fucks you once you try to get away. He sees it as a game and only takes you harder.
“Harder.” he commands lowly.
“Please!” you cry out.
You can only repeat the same word in a row, as he fucks you from behind. The taking becomes sharper and shorter as your gasps become moans and his breathing becomes grunting. You both make noises filling the library as the poor couch is put to good use. You cry out again, but Aemond has no mercy for you. “I meant what I said,” he hisses when penetrating you, forcing your butt against his cock. You whimper in response as waves of pleasure come and go. “I'll have you kill them. Your little traitor army will die and it'll be your hands that will be used.” You let out a strangled whimper and begin to fight the tears. He takes hold of your throat next, slightly squeezing it as he breathes out watching your teary eyes and pouting lips. As always, this does more to arouse him. He feels painful and big. You endure with as much grace as you can master but in the end Aemond is taking you from behind as a whore. You come, screaming and crying over his cock. You are released and fall off the couch, on your knees. You receive a slap in your face that sobers you from the pain and the pleasure. You must have looked confused as Aemond explains when still fucking you why you earned that. “You seem to have become a selfish little brat. Putting your own pleasure before mine.”
He is still angry. The danger hasn’t passed. You know better than to assume he will be gentle or kind. So you apologize for neglecting him for a moment. “It wasn't my intention. It…it happened so fast.” You whisper, afraid he’ll hurt you.
He mocks your facial expression by pouting, throwing you back on the couch. This time, you are facing his front. He just grabs your chin and mirrors your expression, making that one terrifyingly expressive eye wide as if he is scared too. “It always happens fast with you,” he pats your cunt and grabs it. “You like having it forced down your cunt and you like it when I give it a good warm layer of seed.” You wonder if he meant what he said. About you having his child. He circles your belly, expression back to that empty, hallow and stoic face that does not show the slightest of emotions. “I know you want to deny it, but the evidence is right here. You came my sweet. You came so fast and so ridiculously hard as well. I saw your eyes roll in your head as you fell. You're just an eager little slut,” he whispers. You give a sad, embarrassed nod. He chuckles. ‘’I had you a few times tonight. Yet I don’t think I want to part with you.’’ He confesses. You feel fear at those words. Is that good or bad news? He just leans in, until your noses touch and he can lick your tears again. ‘’Mhm, you’ll make it up to me tomorrow. I assume Cole will have found the traitors by then. We will tie them to wooden sticks and you, my beloved pet. You will cut their limbs and set them alight.’’ He whispers, tracing his fingers down your lips, opening your mouth. You feel his tongue slip in and his grunts become more animalistic as that one eye finally looks back, and you do not like how wide and joyful his expression is at these plans. He moans again against your lips, his hands painfully kneading and feeling your breasts as he slowly forces you to take him again.
You gasp as the annoying wood of the couch feels uncomfortable and hurts you this time, by how you are forced to lay. “It's hurting me.” He just releases a throaty moan at your confession. He repeats exactly what he did to ensure you feel it poke again. ‘’My Prince, it hurts.’’ You add, your voice a whimper. He chuckles, taking you faster. You watch him mouth you, his face inches from you as he just fucks his agression out on you. You try to remain from touching him back and instead focus on the ceiling. He forces your head back to his own with a smack, warning you to not try it again.
You groan in pain and he can only caress your face in response, his eye wider than you’ve ever seen it as he bucks again, taking you faster. You don’t try to think about it. You don’t want to think about what is happening here. You suspected it before. You feel your hips roll, over the wooden part of the couch that hurts you. A loud groan escapes you. ‘’You’re such a fool.’’ He murmurs, laughing. ‘’What did you think? Why did you do that?’’ To test him. To test your theory. To find proof and peace for your own sake.
‘’I was testing a theory.’’ You say, putting your thoughts out loud.
He seems curious to this, grinning as if he finds it adorable that your mind can even think at all. ‘’A theory? I’m all ears to hear what your peasant head has come up with.’’ He pats it too, patronizing. You try not to show your anger. He stops fucking for now.
‘’You enjoy hurting me.’’ You say, your voice not shaking at all. He stops smiling. It feels good to watch that smile die. He folds his arms, defensive.
‘’Of course I do.’’ He hides behind the monster again. ‘’Why else would I do so, if I didn’t enjoy it?’’ You sigh, struggling to find the right words. He experiences something else when hitting you. Something dark and twisted. You can’t put your finger on it.
‘’I mean, you…Your cock and…’’ You stutter, trying to bring it to words as he stares back at you, confused. ‘’You become a different man when you hurt me.’’ You conclude. He still stares back and you wonder if he cares at all that you just discovered something dark about him.
His brows slightly frown, and his perfect face becomes a ugly one. ‘’You put that awfully romantic. I don’t like your accusing tone.’’ He warns you, trying to make you scared again.
You feel the walls close in. ‘’It’s true, isn’t it? You feel aroused when you strike or hurt me.’’
He slowly tilts his head. ‘’And what about it?’’
‘’Ah,’’ he says with a little chuckle as you begin to cry, terrified. ‘’I do enjoy hurting you. I like watching those eyes of yours fill with terror and understanding. You bastards are always thinking you can defy the rules of nature, you cannot. You need someone to pin you down and to hold you down and fuck you senseless so you finally understand you are not atop of the foodchain, you are not even part of it.’’ You moan as his cock slams back inside of you. You try to fight him off, offended. ‘’You are below it all, you are on your knees, exactly where you belong as vermin.’’ He watches your expression closely, hands around your throat as he lightly chokes. ‘’That said, I won’t kill you. I will need someone to warm my bed and you do more than warm it, little slut of mine. You warm, wet, and wrinkle my sheets very well as if you were born for my cock.’’
He comes finally with a grunt. His cock leaves the tight and bloodied space he used so savagely. He simply wipes himself off with your dress as you remain there, legs hurting and blood and seed dripping down your legs. ‘’I meant what I said. Prepare yourself for tomorrow. We have executions planned.’’ You struggle to get up. He watches, amused. To your surprise, he sinks to his knees nearby you, faces inches removed. ‘’You think you know me by now. You still have no idea, not even the slightest clue what I am capable of.’’ He whispers against your lips. ‘’Tomorrow, your town will bleed and burn and you will be by my side as my obedient little pet.’’ You cry silently. ‘’You begged me before to just use you as my whore, and I admit you are a quick eager student. Mayhaps a bit too eager, sometimes. I wouldn’t be a good Master if I didn’t push you from time to time to break your boundaries and broaden your horizons. You never cared for your womb, for your body. I see that now. You do care for your hands covered in blood.’’ He looks at your hands, where fingernails are broken. He meets your eyes again and you see something worse than the emotionless monster. You see obsession and hatred. ‘’We’ve known each other barely a week, and I already made you a kinslayer and a murderer. I wonder what else I can turn you into, with the right discipline and motivation for you.’’ You endure his words silently. ‘’Do not worry about being shared, or being fucked by my Commander.’’ His grip tightens and you understand he is warning you to not try anything with another man. ‘’You will only know me, only feel me, only desire me, only hate me and only endure me.’’ You freeze at these words, worried of their meaning. He leans in and kisses your mouth, without the use of his tongue this time. ‘’Get dressed, little pet of mine. Time you went back to your cage and slept.’’ You collect your dress, hurriedly dressing. ‘’And Pet?’’ He stops and looks at the dress where a flower is still missing. ‘’The first one to die, will be that soldier who ruined your dress. I want to hang him outside, pierce his innards so his liquid drips and drips,'' he takes a big pleased sigh as he finally too dresses. ''But that is all for but morrow. You won't be rid of me so soon.'' He pauses. ''Mayhaps, I do enjoy hurting you. But you'd be a fool to deny you enjoy being hurt. You enjoy me being violent, and you wet so fast when I use force and hunt you down as a little innocent deer and mount you without giving a fuck.''
''I don't enjoy you killing.'' You whisper.
''Yet.'' Your throat is cut off from air but he does not have to choke you for it. He did it with his words alone. The door is closed and you are left alone in the library, with only Aemonds unreadable battleplans and the figure dragons to keep you company.
i imagine him lookin at reader as this, smug bastard. but if you liked this pls let me know and if you didnt im very sorry. Its a older work of mine but i gotten so much praise of it that i continued it.
Revisted: The Heart is an Ocean REVISITING: The Heart is an Ocean (Announcement)
Rediscover the great story that got abadonded years ago, embark on a journey unlike no other and discover the final new chapters, the rewritten first chapters and the hopefully not cringe romance i cooked up in this ultimate loveletter to my favourite romantic movie, with a hint of darkaemond (but no, no gore, i promise)
Aemond x reader
after your father died, you are invited to the Balerion (or rather, your mother sold half your house to afford a ticket) once your family led society, and now all that awaits is doom, begging and starvation. Until you run into the arms of the gentleman, Aemond Targaryen. Mr Targaryen is new money, dedicated, and...has definitely his own motives for helping you.
You are Casterella Waters. The daughter of Lady Waters and Lord Gerold Waters. Born first out of three daughters, you are now the main hope for the family fortune. You are incredibly privileged, spoiled, rude, and perfectly morally grey for the time period we are in. Quotes said by reader that made me laugh: ''Smoking is for the gentleman. And the homeless.'' ''Men that were so old that they could have been there to witness the grace and beauty of the dinosaurs themselves.''
Aemond Targaryen is the love interest. Disinherited by his father at a young age, Aemond served your family many years ago. You wouldn't recall, but he definitely remembers. And not for the good reasons. Aemond has build his fortune with both legal and not so legal means, doesn't shy away from violence and has his own plans to make a fortune in Valyria where the Balerion is heading....if it will arrive, of course that is.
Snippet below, outline done today. it won't be a very gore or dark fic, so if you do like a tragic story, a morally grey reader and her morally grey husband to me, feel free to sign up for the reader list, or just like the post. I plan to publish part 1 again when i have finished the other parts, and i finished outlining today with my lovely friend.
BUT WE DO HAVE SNIPPETS. snippets belowww.
‘’Another boat,’’ You commented, putting your gigantic elegant hat straight on your head. ‘’I hope Mother tires of these useless vacations soon.’’ The boat looked like a monster that had just risen from the bottom of the sea. A steel death trap, filled with dozens of already cheering workers and middle-class citizens who had been dreaming of even touching the dirty decks of The Balerion.
‘’Don’t be negative, Clestrella’’ You rolled your eyes at your sister’s constantly annoying optimism. ‘’And besides, it’s a ship. The Balerion is known to be the ship of dreams.’’ You thought you would not survive being with your sister Maelyn that long. You would not see the Port of Valyria before you had thrown her overboard, into the cold icy waters. Or so you thought.
Your brain had no trouble seeing the negative, dark reality that all fools around you ignored. ‘’Why does it look like a nightmare, then?’’ You commented. ‘’It’s like a death trap. Once we are at sea, nothing will save us.’’
/////
The lights briefly flickered, sent chills down your spine, and made you briefly clutch your locket. When the lights were turned on again, a man in an elegant black and white suit greeted you with a small elegant bow and a boyish smirk on his lips. ‘’Fancy a smoke?’’ He wondered, his voice betraying he was from the Crown lands.
You huffed, still insulted that your fish did not take your bait. ‘’Do I look like I smoke?’’ You are a lady, a woman of noble class. Smoking is for the gentleman and the homeless.
The man stepped into the light, and for the first time, you could take in his good remaining eye and his sapphire that covered where the other once used to be. ‘’You look bored and stressed. Any man would tell you to smoke.’’ You would enjoy a good cigarette, just blowing off some steam and forgetting the ugly world for a moment. You loved smoking, that was a truth, but your mother always disencourage you to do it in front of other men or anyone important.
He must think your worries could be solved by a simple smoke, he must think you were some lonely depressed rich girl in need of her daddy. The worst part is, you were just that. You needed and missed your daddy’s fortune, but most of all, you missed him. Your mother had barely made time to mourn him and soon you would be married into a loveless marriage, making you completely alone. ‘’You would be too if they sent hoards of bored old men your way.’’ You replied, and usually, your icy cold exterior sends men running from you. Men don’t like women they can’t outsmart or control. Men don’t like well-read women. Men don’t like unknown or mysterious women. Men want to know what they purchase when they try to find a wife.
This one started to smile, however taking you completely by surprise. ‘’You’re the Waters girl.’’ He knew of you. You exhaled deeply. You could not take another peasant storming in and demanding you to leave the room again. You could not face the reality that this could be the final chapter of your family’s legacy and that you would be their downfall.
You had hoped to shut him up before he would even start. ‘’Yes. What of it?’’ You snapped, crossing your arms over your chest when readjusting your dress.
He briefly scratched behind his left ear, before he stepped closer, his hips swaying to the rhythm of your every unsteadier growing heartbeat. ‘’Quite hostile, aren’t we?’’ He tsked, grinning from ear to ear and revealing his beautiful white teeth.
He grabbed your left hand and went to his breast pocket before handing you a cigarette. ‘’Smoke with me, Princess. It might do you some good.’’ You looked at his cigarettes, likely all the good stuff from the Riverlands. The good stuff.
You wanted to smoke when he grabbed his lighter and made a flame for you, carefully shielding it with his hands. But you pretended, as always, that you were not interested right away. ‘’Alright, let’s see if you have anything worthy of my company.’’
You brought the cigarette to your lips after he had lit it for you, and for a brief moment the tabaqua cleansed your soul of all its troubles and misery.
He stood there, watching as you peacefully smoked his cigarettes, both of you not giving a damn about the bypassing passengers who glared daggers. ‘’What is your name?’’ You asked him after you finished your cigarette.
He spoke again, his voice rough as a diamond with a befitting sharp edge that could slit throats. ‘’Aemond.’’ He said. Your chin lifted and you nodded, as you recalled that your mother had given you and your sisters a warning about absolutely not engaging with this ‘’new-money’’ called ‘’Aemond Targaryen’’. You wondered how a Targaryen could be New money, as most of them relied on their ancestors for wealth.
Yet you were in the mood for teasing, perhaps in the mood for upsetting your mother. ‘’Oh, mother warned me for you.’’
The moment you mentioned that, something changed and shifted the mood from teasing and fun to serious and worry. ‘’Did she?’’ He asked, his fingers slightly fumbling with his ring. You eyed it, curiously. It did not look like a wedding ring, however.
You nodded, eager to make him sweat. ‘’Yes. She says you are a bit of a bad boy.’’ You recalled what your mother told you, as well as many ladies in her gossip circle.
He smirked, quite liking your description as you moved closer to him, staring at his pink luscious lips that seemed quite comfortable to touch, perhaps to lick.
‘’Hm.’’ Was all that left his lips, and you would not know if it was an answer or a moan.
You continued filling his head with info you overheard, reminding yourself in the process why he would be a horrible match. ‘’You have a reputation of a horrible temper, flirtations that don’t end well respectively, unbefitting of a follower of the Seven.’’ You were a good religious woman. Your faith mattered to you.
Aemond seemed insulted by your catlike smirk, before grinning. ‘’Life is too short to keep yourself chained down. Unless you like your chains.’’ He added, sizing you up and down as if he was picturing you in chains.
You huffed. ‘’You see, Mr Aemond: I am a woman. Our reputations matter and we can’t just flirt with anyone.’’ You were insulted that he would think you would let him tie you up as some weak meak thing.
Aemond grabbed your gloved hands, making contact with your skin before staring into your eyes, making contact with your very soul. ‘’Are you really that bored with the old fucks she sents your way?’’ You heard of the word fuck before, but never in that way, and certainly not o describe your future husband. It is disgusting, but the silver lining is, whoever you would marry would perhaps not live very long.
‘’Mr Aemond-’’ You started, your sentence unsure as he pushed his fingers against your reddened lips, silencing you before grabbing you gently by your hips.
He breathed against your throat. ‘’Yes or no, love?’’ He asked as you felt more like a woman than any of those old fucks ever could.
You nodded, hesitant at first. ‘’Yes.’’
He grinned, happy that he was handed what he was ever. ‘’Good girl.’’ He whispered against your lips as you breathlessly watched. ‘’I will make you a deal. My father will name me heir soon, and I’ll become a very wealthy man. We can pretend you are my fiancee.’’ His breath briefly raged over your throat, as his eye danced with mischief and promises he would not dare to keep. ‘’No man would dare to bother you during this voyage, after that, I help you find a proper match.’’ You had never been very romantic or desperate. Not the way your little sisters are.
You knew what men wanted. You knew it back then, you know it now and you would know it until the Stranger dragged you into the seventh hell, screaming and dragging your nails into the carpet. Yet you asked, coyly as if this was a great sacrifice. ‘’What shall you wish in return, Mr Targaryen?’’ Aemond grinned, brushing his fingers against your cheeks before slightly bending his face so he could whisper in your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
His price was simple. ‘’One night alone with you, love.’’ He had hoped for one night alone with you. You can imagine what you will be doing that night. ‘’I want you to surrender fully to me, for one night. Just one.’’ He must mistake you for a harlot.
You knew his intentions and you knew his plans. Yet you kept coy as a lady and pretended to not understand where he was hinting at. ‘’And what shall we do on that night?’’ Aemond glanced subtly at your breasts.
He grinned devilishly. ‘’I can think of many things.’’
You liked the attention of someone your age for once. And there was something else about him too. He was like fire and you loved to get burned. You knew he would hurt you, but that didn’t stop you. But no businesswoman would accept her first offer.
‘’What if I talk to your father, hm? How you dare to propose this ridiculous offer to me?’’ You knew Viserys Targaryen was on this ship as well.
His smile vanished and he became quite catty and serious. You liked how he glared at you, clearly affected by your threat. ‘’Talk to him all you want love, I did so for 20 years and he’s not very good at listening.’’ You and Aemond decided to take to the quiet coffee lounge.
‘’But your father has four other children. How are you so certain that you will become the heir?’’ You asked him.
He grinned as if he found it very funny before answering. ‘’I just am, Love.’’
You nodded, lowering your eyes as his lips got closer to yours. ‘’Confidence is the most attractive trait a man can have.’ He simply nodded and bent his head to kiss you. You turned at the last moment, letting your locks touch his lips before you took another cigar from his breast pocket, your red-stained lips curling into a smile. ‘’But cockiness is not.’’ He tried to trap you under his arms, with a grin before you outsmarted him once more, stepping aside, taking off with the cigarette. ‘’I enjoyed your company, Mr Targaryen. Let me know if you ever become anything more than your father’s second-born son, and we shall converse again, perhaps under the delight of a glass of champagne.’’ He grinned, his breath still heavy of your almost kiss before he ran a hand through his silver-blonde hair, nodding as you walked away.
‘’Miss.’’ He muttered, more to himself than to you.

She stealing his cigarettes might be my favourite scene ive ever written. Its just so chaotic.
''How serious are you about finishing this belly?''
That serious, that I'm planning on rewatching the movie for more inspiration, of course always a good idea. And that serious, that i've got it outlined until chapter 7 which will be our epilogue. So. If you want to support this story, comments and likes and reblogs are appriciated. Anons with animal gifs are also always welcome and cheer me up a lot.
''Is this just gonna be jack and rose belly?''
No. It's def poor boy x rich girl but its def different as well as Aemond now is rich too, and they are both just interesting characters. I think shes more a oc than a reader insert. But what we have with ''paint me your french girls'' thing no, we wont see it. It'll be its own story, hopefully.

Story begins under the cut.
The rain has finally stopped. It has been raining for days now, in the region of your hometown. Big, ominous clouds filled with water rained and ravished upon the lands, as some wicked display of power from the gods themselves. You remarked a familiar anecdote in front of your family members. Your mother just frowned her perfect brows, and continued to breastfeed your youngest brother, Aegon. He was born during the battle of Rook’s rest, a battle where your own family participated. You were at home, of course, as a lady is supposed to be when men fight to the death.
But even you know the casualties of the battle are higher than both the King and the Queen would like to admit, on both sides. No war is as bloody as a war between dragons. There were rumors your father, Lord Rayord Reyne had passed during the fighting as well. He went missing. Your mother had received word after the birth of your brother. When your father miraculously reappeared, he had the guts and the audacity to name his son Aegon, after the King that started this brutal war.
You could never hate a child, you told yourself that. Until you saw your baby brother. There was something about Aegon, something that raised great disturbance in your mind and body. Something that warned you were looking at the warning of the gods, a warning you, and all people, should heed.
The war didn’t stop at Rook’s Rest. You had lost hope it would end when your good friend Davos Blackwood was murdered at the Burning Mill. You collapsed when you heard what had befallen your friends in King’s Landing, when a former ladies maid of Rhaenyra was forced to eat her own dog to survive the famine.
Your father chose to support King Aegon. But you never bend your knees. And you don’t intend to.
It’s now a beautiful day. You are being dressed by your servants, who all ogle and smile upon you as you look at your reflection in the big beautiful white mirror.
You gesture for them to stand, as you make your way to the big windows. You lift your long cloak, with the symbols of your house and a house that has become dear to you. House Westerling. The House of your husband to be.
You make a final turn in front of the mirror, watching your flawless ivory with gold embroidered gown and conclude you never looked any happier. Love is seen in your eyes, in your smile and even in your hair. You see it reflected a thousand times. You look, in all ways, beautiful. You let out a soft chuckle, admiring your rings as your servants put them on your fingers.
Until one silver ring with a sapphire catches your eye. The servant who puts it on, is shrouded in a veil, as if she married herself to the Stranger. The ring feels heavy and you don’t doubt that the sapphire is genuine. You take an uneasy breath, removing the ring instantly from your finger. ‘’Not this one. This one clashes with my gown. I don’t want any sapphires. Let it be known.’’ You proclaim, your voice steady but strict. Your servants bow, all but one. The veiled woman leaves the ring, and silently leaves the room.
You don’t get much time to think, as the other doors to the side room are pushed open and a familiar brown haired face pops out of the corridor, screaming in excitement and jumping up and down as she rushes at you, pulling you in a tight hug. ‘’I came as soon as I heard! So, Harys finally proposed! How wonderful!’’ Your best friend clutches your gloved hands, feeling your fingers through the delicate fabric. She smiles so much, and you can tell she is happy for you. Or relieved. Harys wasn’t the only man who made a proposal. You eye the sapphire ring uneasily.
Your servants silently stand around, adjusting the lace on your gown as you come to a conclusion. They are not doing their work. They are listening in. You clap your hands together and lift your chin. ‘’Leave us at once.’’ Your command is obeyed, and your servants flee the room as flock being chased out by a dog.
You look at the Sapphire Ring. ‘’What if I made the wrong choice, Sara?’’ You mutter to your friend once you are alone. What if you will come to regret your marriage?
Sara doesn’t even look up for the dress she is inspecting. ‘’What do you mean?’’ What can you mean?
You don’t want to say it. You don’t want to think about it, in truth. But his proposal is on your mind and so is his …character. ‘’The proposal of the Prince. I think of it often.’’ You admit, thinking how the two of you parted ways.
Your friend chuckles, finding it hilarious that you worry about such a small minded selfish creature. ‘’Prince Aemond is a tyrant and a spoiled little boy. He couldn’t possibly handle a lion, word is he barely controls his own dragon.’’ You chuckle, remembering the rumor Floris Baratheon told you before her passing.
‘’You are right. I am sorry. Aemond moved on, I know he did so.’’ You say, finding the hands of your friend. You allow yourself to take three deep breaths, before following her downstairs to your childhood home.
—- Downstairs, your family prepares for your wedding. Your father has been dressed up prettily for the part, as has your mother and your two brothers. Lord Reyne smiles as he looks at you, grabbing you by the hand and spinning you around. ‘’My beautiful child, my little girl. You’ll leave your home today.’’ He announces. He always has been cold to his advisors and servants. But never to you. You chuckle, accepting the little dance as you twirl.
At the same moment, a page announces his presence. ‘’My Lord. We received word from the King. His Grace thanks you for the hospitality but he unfortunately cannot make it. He has duties to attend to. But his brother, Prince Aemond, sends a wedding gift to the young new bride, showing his goodwill to ..make amends.’’ You ignore his stuttering and staggering, pushing him aside to look at Aemond’s gift.
A small box is brought forward to you, barely big enough to fit a ring. You lift the lit, and notice a letter in writing you never saw before, but somehow you know it is his. ‘’I forgive you.’’
Relief washes over you. He forgives you. He lets it go. He will let you be happy. Harys. You squeak in excitement, rushing off to the fields outside your home. ‘’Where is he? I must see Harys!’’ You declare, running around the countryfield.
‘’My lady, you are ruining your gown!’’ A servant rushes after you. You don’t know her. She must be one of Harys’ staff members. You look down at your gown, but besides a few spats of mud, you don’t see anything abnormal. The servant has kind eyes, and soft eyes. At that moment, your fiance comes around the corner, and stands still in awe when he gazes upon you.
You wave, making a curtsy. He breaks into a grin, the goofiest but most wondrous grin you ever saw. You extend your hand to him, and he accepts, kissing it. ‘’Dare I say you look lovely?’’ He seems speechless, which is rare for him. He usually talks your ears off. You chuckle. Everyone could say you look lovely but it only matters to you that he finds you lovely too.
Harys himself is wearing proper wedding attire as well, ready to be married. You feel his hand wrap around your hand, and the two of you head off to the big festive hall where your wedding will take place. Guests and family members who are to attend follow you inside, and you marvel at the beautiful chandeliers and polished tiles.
An old Septon stands before the altar, glaring as you and Harys twirl, laugh, and hold each other quite inappropriately for an unmarried couple. You smile at the Septon, but he doesn’t smile back. He makes a gesture to the Seven. You roll your eyes. The doors of the hall close.
The sound dies down as people take their arranged seats, and you and Harys line up at the altar. You look around for Sara. But she is nowhere to be found. You tug at Harys coat. ‘’Something’s wrong. Sara’s missing.’’ You inform him as the Septon holds a sermon about virtues and other nonsense. Harys is more subtle and trained in the art of court than you are, and he too, glances around the attendees. You feel him squeeze your hand once, then twice. She is missing. Harys steps forward, addressing the gathered crowd.
‘’Unfortunately, we cannot continue this. My betrothed is rightly worried for her friend. I suggest we look around the property and try to locate Lady Sara. We can resume the festivities after she has been found and is well.’’ You smile, reaching out to touch his cheeks.
‘’What is it? We’ll find her.’’ He reassures you as the guests shatter around the property.
‘’I am just so lucky to have you here.’’ You say, and you mean it.
Harys smiles, but it's a painful smile. He removes your hand from his face. ‘’Let us focus on Sara. Then I want to marry you for the rest of my life.’’
You join the others into looking for your friend. You exit the great hall, and head to the library. Sara and you used to have secret hangouts during social events here. It is where you and Sara once met. The library is dark, creating the charade that no one is here, but when you glance at the candles, you notice the candles are yet to solidify, confirming someone has been here not too long ago.
You grab the poke from the fireplace, ready to use it as a weapon. ‘’Who is there? I know you are here. You better show yourself.’’ Silence.
Deadly silence.Just when you were about to lower your improvised weapon, a muffled shriek rings out through the shelves of books. You don’t even think, you just rush after the sound.
Between two large bookshelves, all the way to the end of the room, is Sara. She has been gagged and bound, crying silently as you approach her, wildly screaming and trying to communicate something. You turn around, but are too late.
A second intruder, dressed in black, pushes you next to Sara. The poke you so bravely wielded, is quickly taken away and put aside. You don’t know who this person is, but this is their last day alive. From the darkness another intruder approaches, the veiled lady. ‘’Please sit, my Lady. We do not wish to harm you.’’ The veiled Lady speaks.
‘’No. You are both to release me and my friend. She did nothing wrong.’’ You say, You attempt to take the poke again, not giving a damn that the other man is armed with a sword. He simply shrugs, before walking over to Sara and tugging her hair. Sara cries out, and that causes all rebellion inside of you to die.
The doors of the library are closed shut. The attacker takes his hood off, revealing a familiar face. It is the page who brought you Aemond’s message. You don’t acknowledge that you recognize him, but quietly study the way he holds that sword. He is a trained swordsman and his sword is good quality too. He is not just a page. ‘’You brought me Aemond’s message. You're a page.’’ You say, trying to get some information out of him while Sara screams, alarmed.
The Page smiles at Sara, shrugging silently. ‘’I am much more than that. But I don’t want to confuse you. I have been told you don’t often notice things until they have already happened.’’ Who would even dare to give such a horrid and inaccurate description?
That is when you hear two doors slam shut. Heavy doors. The library doors, you realize. ‘’What is the point of keeping us here?’’ You try to recall desperately how many people there were inside of the festive hall. But you understand you have invited dozens, maybe hundreds. They could all be in danger.
The page sits down next to Sara, keeping his arms close to her shaking body, the sword nearby her throat.‘’It’s so you're not somewhere else.’’ He clarifies. You shake with rage and fear. You don’t know what he is planning but you will stop it.‘’You are to remain here, and I will keep you here. My employer doesn’t want you to get hurt.’’ You feel uneasy. You feel sick to your stomach and feel a vague chest pain as if someone is tightening your corset. He spoke of hurting people. And being paid to do so.
The picture slowly forms in your head as you understand you have not been warned. There was never peace. There was never a truce. It is impossible for them to forgive their own blood, why would they forgive you?
You were right. You did make a mistake. A final figure appears, wearing dark black armour with golden details that catch the small rays covered behind old curtains. It makes the wearer seem like the bringer of death. Prince Aemond stands before you again, without his eyepatch. You don’t rise or curtsy. You only glare. He chuckles, adoring you. ‘’My love. I have missed you. You look so hauntingly beautiful.’’ He says. You don’t have a weapon. But you do have the urge to throw something at his smug face. And so you do.
You throw a shoe at his face. It barely misses and Aemond is just in time to step aside. He seems shocked that you dared to use violence gawking and even taking a step back away from you. But he's not the one screaming. You are. You are enraged. ‘’How dare you! Is this your attempt at making peace? No wonder you and your siblings are at war! Do you even know what peace entails?’’ You yell, advancing the prince as your anger gets the better of you. ‘’It is my wedding day and you-’’
Aemond grabs your arms, almost painfully as he silences you with only his glare. ‘’No. I have never known peace.’’ He reveals, his voice soft. You don’t doubt him for a moment. He sighs, as if reminding himself that this is a happy day. ‘’You look beautiful. Such a shame it's for another man.’’
Harys is your man. There is no other. He is yours, and you are his, for this day, until the end of your days. He is who you choose. ‘’I choose where my heart lies.’’ You say, hoping he would understand.
He only smiles, and when he does smile, it’s not sincere. It’s a reflection of fear, anger, disappointment and hatred. ‘’Your heart lies with me. We know it both. You wanted to marry this pathetic sack of blood and bones because you felt like you needed to defy me.’’ You let his words sink in.
There is a glimmer in his eye. A shimmering, a reflection of insanity, a shard of madness.‘’Why would I defy you?’’ You then ask, afraid of the answer. Terrified, you shake. Aemond’s smile only grows, as he puts his hands on your arms, holding you as he comes closer, your faces inches removed.
‘’So you can challenge me, and I turn, punish you. You yearn for it, silently.’’ You don’t want to know what his idea of punishment even entails. You always imagined him being chivalrous and maybe a bit erratic but not nearly this erratic. Something has pushed him over the edge. That something being your rejection.
He has gone from whatever kept him sane to this. ‘’You believe I would arrange a whole wedding, just to defy you and your feelings?’’ You keep your smile but you rather would drop it, finding this whole ordeal pure insanity. The smile is kept as a caution, as a shield. You are worried once he understands you no longer long for him, he kills you on the spot.
Aemond reaches out to touch your face, whispering in your ear. ‘’I am quite the catch.’’ You ignore the shivers you get on your back. “Enough about me.” He says, as if he could not talk about himself for hours. “It's time we talked about you and your friend.” He joyfully claps his hands together.
You know it's about you and Sara was mere bait to lure you here. You won't have her blood on your hands.
“Sara is innocent. You are to release her.” Aemond laughs at your order, shaking his head. Except Aemond hates bastards. Except Aemond despises them.
He finds it pitiful foolish and silly that you are concerned with the life of a mere lowborn bastard lady. “If I were you, I'd worry about my own safety. You have been unfaithful and deceitful.” You ignore those accusations. You were never his and he was never yours. You can't be unfaithful because you never vowed to be his.
He sees you tense up. “You are forgiven. I wrote that to you. You will be cleansed of your sins. It will all be as if it's a bad dream and when you wake up you lay next to me, in my bed, with only your hair to cover you.” He describes a disturbing scene. “It will all be over soon.”
There is something worse than a threat in his voice. A promise. Threats don't have to come true. But a promise usually entails that someone will do everything in their power to make it happen. “Prince Aemond, surely you can find a willing and lovely lady wife. One that loves you the way you deserve.” You quickly blurt out, trying to appeal to whatever humanity remains in that skeleton heart. You even reach out to his arms, feeling his armor.
He sees you are trying to play him quite easily, freeing his arms as he takes out his sword, warning you to not try that a second time. “Seath your wicked tongue. I will not be manipulated.” “I came here with one goal in mind. You.” His smile reappears as he looks at you, softly touching your cheeks, caressing them. He looks at you with so much love and devotion and utterly disappointment and heartbreak. It is as if he cannot decide whether to kiss you or to stab you. You know you are not in danger. Aemond wanted you saved. Harys, he should be afraid. Just Harys.
Rage and fear and sadness battle inside of you as you try to think of a plan. But with being outnumbered as well as your captors being armed, all good ideas fade to nothing. Aemond takes a moment to grab another pair of ropes, which he intends to use on you. “It'll be like this has never happened.” You wonder what he is planning.
He leans in closer, caressing your face lovingly. You shake your head as he ties your hands together. He finishes the tight brutal knot with a kiss on your lips. You whimper and his brows briefly frown as he understands he hurt you. “I am sorry my love. But your disobedient behaviour has consequences.” You shake your head, trying to defend yourself again. He simply shuts you up by grabbing hold of your throat, and his one remaining eye increases as his insanity spirals. ‘’You will be cleansed. I meant what I said. You hurt me so deeply. You have no idea, what you put me through.’’ His voice becomes a calculated soft whisper to hide the hurt carrying it. You feel shame that you didn’t tell Aemond in person that your affair had ended. Mayhaps it would’ve saved lives. ‘’The mess you left me to clean,’’ He chuckles, shaking his head. ‘’How you vanished without saying a word.’’ He chuckles a bit harder, making your stomach turn. Finally, he pulls out the sword, and points the sharp point at your throat. ‘’I thought you had died! I looked for you, I mourned you! Because I thought there was no world in which you would possibly leave my side!’’ The sword pokes, and you struggle to keep your tears in. You feel already wrecked with guilt. You begin to cry, first silently than harder. Aemond lowers the sword, satisfied with your pain. ‘’I will inflict what you did to me a thousand times. You will wish you had killed yourself. You will beg for death many times, but each time I will deny it.’’ That breaks something inside of you. You try to crawl, to run and to get away but he simply steps on your gown, stopping you. ‘’I might need to begin sooner than I anticipated. The least you can do is spare me any embarrassment and make this whole ordeal quicker.’’’He bites out, angry. You are confused and he laughs again, touching your lips with his fingers. ‘’Gods, you look as if someone fucked out your senses. Not yet, sweet love. Not yet.’’
“What of the other girl?” The guard asks as Aemond escorts you back to the festive hall. He doesn't say a word. You try to turn around to face your friend. The ropes prevent you. But you can still make out her hair. Her brown hair.
Aemond studies you closely. He crosses his arms on his back, and looks at you when giving the order. “Cut her throat. The fish has been caught so the bait is useless.” You watch as the guard nods, taking out the blade. Sara screams wordlessly as the guard grabs her by her throat, the blade inches from it. ‘’See it as part of your punishment. Let it serve as a warning.’’ You shake your head, panicking.
You cannot believe he would commit such crimes on you. But that is exactly what makes you understand that he will. ‘’No, no don’t! I’ll wed you, I wed you and I’ll come with you. I beg of you don’t.’’ You plead, your honour and anger long forgotten by the thought of a world without Sara.
Aemond seems to enjoy the moment you are on your knees for him in your wedding gown, begging for mercy by him and he smiles, content and happy for once. You assume he accepts the agreement. You nod, getting up. The moment you turn around, Sara cries out and Aemond grabs you tightly. He turns your head, and lifts your chin so you see every single moment of your friend’s throat getting slit open, blood pouring out of her lifeless body. You watch it collapse onto the floor as the guard steps away. You want to scream. No noise comes out. You want to cry but nothing happens. You are utterly frozen and trapped in a mind no longer your own, watching these events through the eyes of an outsider. You feel Aemond’s lips kiss your forehead as he cradles your head. “She was a bastard. A filthy wicked creature. You must find better friends. You will find better friends.” His voice sounds so certain. You are uncertain you'll ever have the courage to love again, or to trust. You don’t want any other friend. You wanted Sara. You wanted to keep her safe and you failed. Aemond kisses you again, this time on your lips. You are as a lifeless corpse. He seems at first concerned, before his concern becomes anger again. ‘’I think they are almost ready.’’ He says to the guard. You follow their exchange as your blood turns cold. ‘’I’ll go take a look. You can stay here with the corpse. The Lannisters want her head.’’ Your stomach turns as you look at your friend, your only friend. The Lannisters ordered this. Her own ‘’family’’ ordered this. You glare at Aemond as he drags you along.
‘’You are Jason Lannister’s lackey now?’’ You remark, disgusted. ‘’You carry out their dirty work and act as their assassin?’’
Aemond sighs, tired. ‘’Aegon commanded me. It is important we keep the Lannisters our friends.’’ You scoff, as your body responds again. You yank yourself free despite being roped. You cannot go anywhere, you are aware. But you won’t be carried in by him.
You have one last thing to say to him. ‘’With friends like that, who needs enemies? You and the Lannisters are cowards. Beside from being Jason’s bastard and Rhaenyra’s friend, she formed no real threat to any of you. Yet you killed her because it was easy.’’
‘’No I didn’t,’’ He suddenly hisses, slamming you against the wall. ‘’I didn’t do shit, for those lionfuckers.’’ It is one of the few rare times you hear Aemond cuss, and it terrifies you. His voice becomes a cold chuckle as he shakes his head. ‘’I did it for you, I did it to teach you.’’ To teach you?
You feel dread fall over you in waves. ‘’To teach me what?’’ You whisper. He leans in, forcing you tighter against the wall, as his hands touch your belly.
‘’That you will find nowhere in the Seven Kingdoms, no where in Essos, or Westeros or the known world to be safe again. You will never know any safety unless I offer it, unless I provide it.’’ Your face is grabbed next and you watch those pink soft lips come closer. ‘’You will never know friends or lovers again. You will have me, and I will be all you know. All you see, all you love, even all you hate.’’ He chuckles at your stunned expression. ‘’You will be my property, my wife and my whore.’’ You watch him speak those words, your body shaking terribly. Aemond leans in one final time and kisses you softly. He then drags you with him.
You halt in the hallway, in front of the festive hall. Two corpses, slaughtered as animals with their throats slit bathing in their own blood greet you. Guards of your house with their throats slit. Guards who vowed their lives to you. You never saw a corpse like this before. Once you had to attend your grandmother's funeral. But she looked so peaceful. She was at the end of her story. Not cut down mid chapter like these souls. There is no peace and no justice for them. They died here. They died here because of you.
The white pure tiles now have a dark crimson colour. Bodies of guests and friends lay scattered around the room. The smell of iron and death is intoxicating. You stare at so many faces, young, old, men, women…You close your eyes, clutching your side as you drag your white gown through the blood, soiling it.
Harys calls out your name while fighting two assassins of Aemond. Aemond keeps you close to him, glaring as you try to run to Harys. ‘’Control yourself. You embarrass me greatly.’’ Aemond whispers furiously. You turn around and snarl.
‘’We share that sentiment.’ “I am so sorry.” You whisper as Harys is detained. He is brought to Aemond next. Harys spits out a few teeth. He shrugs, smiling still but you can see how his hands shake. “It is not your fault. I blame the Prince. No one else.” You lean in closer, wishing to touch him once more.
The executioner separates you. “That is close enough. Prince Aemond asked us to ensure you were a maiden. You are not to kiss any lips but Aemond's.” You roll your eyes at that idea, glaring at Aemond. You lean in and kiss Harys cheeks, watching Aemond as he nearly explodes from anger. “You might as well ask your dragon. There's a bigger chance she would kiss you than I.” The guard rolls his eyes, as Aemond approaches you.
You hear something shatter behind you. You watch as Aemond coldly destroys a priceless vase. “That stings, my dearest. That stings me deeply.” ‘’You will kiss me again, and again until your lips bleed and your lungs give out.’’ You glare as he kisses your hair, giving you a soft pat on your back and a comforting rub. “They were all against us. So they had to die. One day you will see that.” Your face is cupped and Aemond wants an answer.
You refuse to speak. He becomes annoyed. “You think you can be silent forever? I know you. Better than he ever could. You might be rebellious now, but that will fade once we are wed.” You remain silent still. He is boiling with rage. “I didn't put in all this effort to be treated as this.” He says, huffing and offended. “I will get you to talk…” At that moment Aemond spots someone hiding under a table.
Your little brother, Aegon. You let out a shriek. “Ah. Aegon, isn't it? Come here, little boy.” Aemond says, pretending he's the boy's friend. He even kneels and tries to get him to come closer.
Aegon hesitates, his big eyes fixated on you. His eyes are filled with terror and grief. You search for your parents. And find them, to your own horror not far from Aegon.
They lay both with their throats cut on the same table, cut down as animals. You fall to your knees, Preparing to scream. But no sound comes out. “Aegon, get here or I'll hurt your sister.” Aemond twirls the dagger he's holding.
Frightened, Aegon scoots forward, obeying at last. He opens his mouth but nothing comes out.
“Aegon, do not give him what he wants.” You shout, ignoring Aemond's painful slap on your head once you utter those words.
Your brother tenses up seeing the abuse. He flinches and cries, staring at Aemond with hatred. “I am confused!” He sobs, crying hysterically. He's only six. He does not understand. Bless the gods, he does not know. He does not understand what he witnessed. What he saw.
It happens so fast. A assassin has made it to Aegon, and you watch as he holds up the knife. You watch the knife go through the flesh and clothing, and watch your brother go limb. You are speechless. “There. Done.” the assassin declares, proud. Aegon’s little corpse bleeds out in front of you. Aemond lets go of you, as you fall to your knees. You look at your brother, at your parents and think back of Sara. You never thought you'd love him. But you did. And you never had the chance to tell him how proud he made you. Your little brother. Never again will he steal your stuffed animals. Never again will he cry and keep you up at night. Never again. None of it. Never. “That was not your kill to make.” Aemond's voice sounds very distant although he's still holding you. He removes the dagger.
“That seemed to have calmed your lady wife down as well.” One of the assassins says. You would love to throw something at him too. To scream and to kick until your voice runs out and your body goes limp. But you cannot move and cannot utter a word. You are a prisoner in your body and mind. A mind that keeps screaming, every moment that passes how terrible this all is.
‘’Bastard!’’ Harys calls out. Aemond is taken back by this insult and glares. ‘’Yes, you! You enabled this. You armed them, you killed all these people because you cannot handle a woman rejecting you! You are not a Prince, you are a craven, and a lowlife and a insult to your House, to your ancestors and all House Targaryen stands for-’’ Aemond does not let him finish, burying his fists deep inside the mouth of Harys with a bonecrushing slap. Aemond simply stabs the left knee of Harys, impaling it as fresh blood comes pouring out. Harys falls, and you understand Aemond won’t get a better chance at an execution now.
You fall to your knees, grab hold of his boot, beg him to notice you and begin to ramble so quickly that you almost choke on your own tears and words. ‘’I will go with you, I will become yours. We will be together, and it’ll be exactly as you wish it so. You may kill everyone else you desire, everyone else but Harys. He is to live out his days on the wall, where he cannot harm anyone again.’’ Harys scoffs, shaking his head. You ignore him. Aemond is all there is.
He seems conflicted, the sword slowly caressing Harys neck as he looks at you again and again. ‘’That is all I ever wanted. For us to go back to how things were.’’ You smile, accepting his offer. His smile dies. “But I know you can't be mine. Not as long as he's alive.”
Harys dies in the same room but he is miles away. He dies with a smile on his lips, likely picturing you as you both run through the meadow together, miles away. His mouth whispers your name, and he dies as Aemond cuts his head off, which rolls in your direction. His eyes are closed and it is supposed to be a comfort he never saw his own dead, but it is not. It is not comforting you. You feel anger and rage consuming you. “Look away, my love. Come. Let's go somewhere less noisy.”
You recall a carriage, a dragon, and a horse. Now you are in his bedroom in King’s Landing, not a clue how you got there. You don’t understand how your mind has decided to save all the horrible corpses you saw today but completely left out how you were taken from your home and into his bedroom again.
You are wearing a different gown, still ivory white just not covered in blood anymore. You don’t remember who dressed you either. Mayhaps it was Aemond or one of his servants. Does it matter? It feels like it doesn’t. “You will be so happy once you adjust. Once your wounds have had time to heal. You'll be the most beautiful princess and a great mother. I know so.” Aemond whispers against your neck. He then does the unexplainable to you. He folds his hands, and he prays.
‘’Who are you praying to?’’ You ask, baffled.
‘’The Mother, and the Father.’’ He replies, offended.
You find that foolish. “I didn't know you worshipped them.”
He rolls his good eye. “I need their favour. You are free to pray as well, should you like it.” You do so. You fold your hands and think of all the suffering you caused.
“May the gods grant them all rest. And may the gods forgive the sins…” Your prayers are cut off by Aemond’s hands grabbing your throat again.
“Shh. Quiet down now. You lost. I won.” He whispers as you weep. You can't stop your sobs, finally breaking in his bedroom.
“I won,” he declares a bit louder, his hands resting on your legs as he begins to kiss your mouth, ignoring your battling. “Stop that. You promised me obedience.” He groans against your lips, grabbing hold of your chin as his other hand goes under your skirts, pulling your undergarments down.
“Do you not want to marry me first?” You want to distract him. And what does Aemond hate more than anything in this known world? Bastards.
He does not see your schemes. “I am overwhelmed by desire. I do not expect your pure mind to understand. You don't have these dark desires.” He says, as if you are innocent. You have dark desires. You think about killing him, yourself, anyone in this world until that void is filled you carry in your heart.
You decide to lie. “Reyne women are extremely fertile. I don't want our son to be a bastard. I want to have your son but only if we are married first.” You say, making a clear line.
As suspected, Aemond glows at the idea of having a son as a first born child. “You think the first will be a boy? Quite an ambitious little schemer.” You let him kiss you.
It was predicted you’d have his son. You never knew it was Aemond’s son, of course. But that your first would be a son, that was clear. “I never settle for less. And besides it's been predicted.” He lets go of you, disgusted. You raise your chin. ‘’I went to a witch.’’
“She told me I'd have a boy.”
He scoffs, not believing her. “She told you whatever you wanted to hear.” So you thought. Until today.
You don’t bother to look at him when speaking. “She warned me of crows gifting me blue shiny stones. She warned me I would lose my first love.” That sparks his interest. He looks at your belly.
“And that you'll have a son. I still find it difficult to believe that anyone but the gods know of the future.” You shrug. You don’t quite care as much anymore. Aemond begins to touch you. ‘’I have things in mind for us, things that will be set into motion. Things you cannot even think of yet, but things that will be ours and ours alone.’’ He spoke of making you miserable earlier. What did he mean by that? Your hands hesitate to touch him back. So you don’t. Aemond kisses your lips, but you don’t kiss him back. He glares, furious. He kisses more furiously and bites on your lip, until you both taste blood. He grins as you begin to bite back, anger driving you. His hands go between your legs as he takes all his clothes off. You try to get on top, you try to get in charge of the event. Yet you only end up on your knees with a sore bum as Aemond hits you again, and again. ‘’No,’’ he hisses firmly. ‘’I promised you I’d punish you. I will.’’ He says, readying himself. ‘’You will learn to enjoy it anyway. Mayhaps you already enjoy it anyway.’’ He slides in with a satisfied little grunt as you feel him take root. His hands rest on your hips as he adjusts how tight he is holding you. Your body is painfully forced back against his front, and you can only think of Harys and how much more fun it would be with him. Aemond seems to notice your wetness growing, your eagerness and your sudden hunger. He only scoffs. ‘’You will never see him again.’’ He says dryly. ‘’I killed him. I chopped his head off. Yet you think of him still.’’
‘’It's hard not to, as you said you made me watch his head get chopped off.’’ He smiles at your cheekiness and kisses you again before returning to the task at hand.
‘’It is no matter. I meant what I said,’’ he leans in and kisses you. ‘’I love you, some part of me always will. But you hurt me. You hurt me deeply and you made a mistake.’’ He grunts as he takes you a bit harder, your grief getting the better of you. It is complicated to describe what happens next. Your own body betrays you as you don’t have feelings for Aemond, but still find him handsome. It is also more than Aemond, its a extremely grieving and rotten brain doused in darkness that clings to a tiny bit of light in the form of mishaped pleasure. The thought of having a tiny bit of comfort, a tiny bit of love and comfort because no one in this world can give you it but him, makes you do unspeakable things. Before his eyes, you collapse, sobbing. Aemond wraps his arms around you, holding you as you cry. ‘’You know, I do love you. I should be enough.’’ Your eyes linger as you slowly climb onto his lap. You don’t ask or beg. Yet he places your arms around his neck and he allows you to peacefully have a few moments on his length. You angrily bounce as the pleasure and pain both dull your own mind, your thoughts finally sticking to one room. Aemond grunts as you pound, your nails digging into his neck as you groan too, trying to finish on top of his lap. He suddenly has enough of you and throws you on the bed, climbing on top of you. The little bounces you did were fine but what comes next truly has you gasping for air as Aemond takes you on the bed, his eye never leaving your own. You are both hating each other, you are both despiting each other and you both want each other to an extend that its obsession that ruins everything. Your pleasure builds in rapid waves as Aemond takes and takes, and you understand why the Targaryens are called conquerors. Your mind blacks out all the rotten memories and all there is just him at that moment. You long to be in this state forever so you never be confronted with your own misery and heartbreak. Aemond sees it differently than you, and you know he just wants that stupid heir you mentioned earlier. You cannot fight your own desires anymore and finish, having him inside of you. Just pure your cries and your face has him aroused too, and he finishes barely a moment later. He allows you to sit up as you catch your breath. You don’t want to admit it. Aemond leans in and kisses your cheeks, but also decides today has been enough. He goes to bed. You remain up, staring in the dark. You wonder if Aemond loves you.
The next year, you fall pregnant. You have a boy as it was said. King Aegon banished Aemond to Lys for his involvement in the Battle of Rook’s rest, and your child had the risk of becoming a bastard or worse, a traitor’s child. Rhaenyra was rumored to take over King’s Landing, but she was assassinated by a nameless commoner who was hired by one of her brothers. A grieving Daemon slipped down the stairs of Dragonstone and his skull cracked open. Aemond did not stay in Lys long, as King Aegon died faithfully two days before the Maesters assumed you would give birth. It was poison that killed the young king, on the way to the Sept. It would forever be a mystery who gave him that wine. To everyone but to you, that is.
Aemond folds his brother’s hands, studying the ring he carries still. He does not care about the witnesses of the silent sisters and you. He takes the King’s ring, and slides it on his own finger. ‘’You did what you had to do.’’ He says, as he studies your reaction. ‘’You did what was best for our child.’’
You take an uneasy breath. ‘’I did not enjoy it. The Dowager Queen suspects me.’’ She does. She looked at you with such hatred when you were called forward. ‘’It is obvious I had the best motive to kill the King.’’
He steps in and holds you as you weep.
‘’Let me take care of her,’’ he urges. ‘’Let me kill her for you. Let her death be a symbol of my devotion. During my exile to Lys, there has been no other woman.’’ You shake your head at first, but Aemond insists.
Queen Alicent is strangled with her own star pointed necklace. King Aemond takes the throne, and you become his Queen. King’s Landing serves as your new home as you try your best to raise your child. You have two more children but as the years go by and grow so does Aemond’s paranoia. Executions are more frequent at court and more close advisers are targeted. The King dies faithfully in his sleep at age 28, leaving three children, a heartbroken widow and an empty iron throne. The Maesters would speculate who killed him, as he had many enemies. You doubt they know it was you. House Reyne’s seat is lonely and cold, the halls empty and abandoned as you return an old widow, now that your oldest son by Aemond rules. The smell of blood is fresh as paint. The rain has finally come, and the rain slowly taps against the windows. But you are the only one alive to hear it. There is no one else alive to hear it. Not a soul to hear it.

We write for ourselves, but we post for others.
(this came out of a conversation in the comments on a previous post about an author threatening to stop updating a fic because of lack of engagement)
So there’s this idea that fic writers should write for themselves and not care too much about stats or engagement,
and i totally get the sentiment behind that. if writing becomes entirely about stats and external validation, something important does get lost - creative freedom and joy, conviction in your own writing
but i also think:
“i write for myself, but i post for others.”
because posting fic is not only self-expression. it’s social. ao3 is called an archive, but emotionally it often functions as a community space.
people post for connection, for participation, for others to bear witness to their pain and trauma and grief,
and i don’t think most people are asking to be admired so much as acknowledged. there’s something deeply human about wanting another person to encounter something that mattered to you and go:
“ok, yeah, I see what you were trying to say. I see you.”
especially because fanfic is often people processing very real feelings through fictional characters at a safe distance, one step removed,
and then uploading that deeply personal thing into a shared archive and hoping somebody else might connect with it.
And i think that’s why it hurts so much when you summon up the courage and post a fic into the void and you get nothing back,
and then it’s like,
does anyone see me? does anyone even care?
here is your daily reminder to COMMENT ON THE AO3 FICS YOU READ! it goes such a long way, especially if it’s a multi-chapter work and you can only leave kudos once. ANYTHING is an acceptable comment—emojis, keyboard smash, screaming, in-depth analysis! i promise you, the writers want it ALL
harassing real people over fictional things that are taboo/problematic doesn’t make you morally superior by the way. it just makes you a bully
I love him so much im sorry
your weird obsession with moral purity is degrading your critical thinking skills and poisoning your ability to empathize with other people btw
