the world feels awful sometimes and we are constantly being reminded of all the terrible things that are happening, but today, i sat at the top of the hill by my dad’s house to watch the eclipse with a hundred other people and when it reached totality everyone cheered. maybe that’s what it’s really all about. maybe humans are hardwired to find joy wherever we can.
