This blog was created by Aki (hiwatari-satoshi) and Nila (lal-nila-syrin) as a way to find, organize, and recommend DNAngel fanfics in an easily searchable, shareable way.

With the hiatus and the age of the series, good fanfictions are hard to come by! There are nearly 5000 fanfics on Fanfiction.Net and ArchiveOfOurOwn, and even some lost from the days of LiveJournal. There’s bound to be some hidden treasures in there somewhere, right?

Abilities/Powers: Though he doesn't have any special powers of his own, he has a rather perceptive sixth sense about things.  His gut feelings are usually pretty accurate. Restrictions: He has phases where he's very critical of his appearance and makes himself exercise even when he's tired.  Despite his open and sociable personality, his work makes it hard to make friends since he's often busy.

Though Keiji had cracked a smile when Hiwatari-kun had tensed up like a spring, the cold tone wiped it off his face.  ”Chill, man,” he held up his hand with something clenched between his index finger and thumb, “you had a hair stuck to your shirt.”  The single strand of hair glinted gold in the sunlight coming in through the windows, much like the soft locks on his own head, but upon further inspection this hair was lighter and much longer.

For such a small thing, its effect on the blue-haired boy was enormous- the anger in his expression overshadowed in rapid succession with shock, something between panic and disgust, and finally- with obvious effort- polite disinterest, though long-fingered hands remained clenched hard at his sides.

"…Ah. Th-…thank you, then. I’d still have preferred if you’d just-…told me, though. You startled me."

Distant and derisive, cold laughter echoed from the inner walls of his skull.

He’d been quiet for so long. 

Why now?

He couldn't help but be puzzled by the myriad of expressions that disappeared from the other's face almost as soon as they appeared.  Those wide eyes had reminded him of a spooked cat.  He didn't think Hiwatari-kun would be the type to be so easily startled.  Niwa-kun, sure, and that was fun.  But not this guy.

At the very least, Keiji had the decency to look a little sorry.  "No big deal.  Didn't mean to scare ya."

Thin fingers curled in a blink as he stiffened, shoulder blades arching back as though trying to force his spine away from the point of contact- before he whirled to face the other boy, struggling to modulate his voice into something less violent in the relative quiet of the classroom.

The question threw him- but not half as much as its source did. Why would Saga, of all people, care what went on in his head?

Hmph.  Of course he had to ask why.  Keiji didn't really understand why himself.  Up until recently he hadn't paid Hiwatari-kun much attention at all.  Hiwatari-kun wasn't really his type; as a friend or otherwise.  

"I dunno.  Just for the sake of askin' I guess.  Seems like you're always frowning when I see you."

Unexpected packages weren't all that rare, but this one didn't have a return address.  Curious, Keiji broke through the tape holding the box shut with a pen from his desk.  He never could find a box cutter when he needed it.

It was full of clothes.  "Must be for the costume department," he concluded.  He fished around and pulled out an Aladdin outfit and held it up to himself.  As long as he put them back neatly it couldn't hurt to play around a little.

The day gradually transitioned from afternoon to evening.  By the time Keiji was done going over a large stack of scripts, the sun was barely still visible on the horizon.  He tossed his reading glasses aside onto the table and plopped on one of the sofas in his office and groaned at the relieving feeling of sitting on something other than a swivel chair.  Brown eyes slid shut and he rubbed at his eyelids to get rid of the afterimages of small text on stark white paper.

He just lied there unmoving for a few minutes and waited for the numb feeling in his brain to subside.  During the process of unwinding his thoughts wandered about the day.  It would have been uneventful if not for the bunches of flowers that he had received.  A tired sigh escaped his lips.  Rejection.  Distrust.  As much as he tried to not let it show...it hurt.  Sure, he would likely get over it by tomorrow, but that didn't change the fact that it hurt right now.

He kicked off his shoes and stretched out over the length of the couch.  It was getting late and he should go home, but he just felt so tired.  He could make some instant noodles if he woke up in the middle of the night and it wasn't as if this was the first night he had spent at the studio.

A neat bunch of begonia and lavender is left outside Saga's studio doors.

Upon deciding to take a break from work, Keiji left the studio to stretch his legs a bit, but was distracted by a bouquet at his feet.

LAVENDER: DistrustBEGONIA: Warning

"Huh.  Guess someone besides Akira-kun doesn’t seem to like me all that much."  He scooped up the flowers with one hand.  At least they were pretty.  Maybe they would be appreciated in one of the company’s break rooms.

Akira handed Saga a bunch of a yellow carnation, a lavender, a candytuft, and a begonia, and walked away.
