     the bridge of his nose scrunches as a smile spread across his face , unable to hide his reaction at sahira’s response to his teasing . “ ah , well , ” he began , turning his face to meet her gaze , “ i’ve had a crush on you since i saw you in winnie’s years ago . you just don’t give me the time of day , ” the male grins , his hand coming to clutch his chest in mock pain . “ one day , sahira … one of these days you’re gonna realize that i’m the guy for you and until then , i’ll wait , ” he laughs , a playful wink accompanying his words . “ shut it , ” he snickers , his attention turning back to the journal in her hands , eyes scanning the words . “ you have good stuff , ” he assured her . “ the only collabs i’ve done are with hip - hop artists and not to name drop … but beyonce , too , ” he says proudly . “ so , working with you is somethin’ new … a new genre . we just have to find a way to blend our styles . ”

     𝑎 𝑠𝑜𝑓𝑡 chuckle follows suit at luca’s story , a story she highly doubts is true . “ winnie’s saw some not so great sides of me , ” sahira replies with a shake of her head as prior 𝖇𝖆𝖉 𝖆𝖈𝖙𝖘 flood her memory . “ in the meantime you might come to realize that i’m not the 𝒹𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂 girl you think i am , ” she adds as she averts her gaze from him , instead focusing on the worn pages of her journal . she clears her throat in another attempt to collect herself . her head turns in response to the name he murmurs . “always name drop 𝒷𝑒𝓎𝑜𝓃𝒸𝑒 , i’d be honored to work with the QUEEN . but i think she’s over collabs to be honest , she doesn’t need them . ” sahira notes with a twinge of disappointment . “ a lot of my songs start off as slower or ballad type songs , they just transition into the style i’ve carved out for myself . like drinking about started off as an acoustic , ” the brunette explains .

     𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑓𝑡 pad of a ring finger presses against the still wet face mask spread across sahira’s face . when she pulls her finger away , she glances at the residue stuck to her skin before ｒｅａｃｈｉｎｇ for a tissue to wipe it off . “ well she’s definitely not doing face masks to help herself . ” the brunette replies as she shifts her body on the couch tuck one leg underneath herself & the other finds its way up , so she can wrap her arms around her knee . the girl reaches for the wine glass perched on the coffee table , taking a nice long swig of the 𝓂𝑒𝓇𝓁𝑜𝓉 . she’s in the middle of her second sip when she hears her good friend’s uncouth question , causing her to CHOKE on the red wine . “tasch ! ” she exclaims as one hand softly swats at the girl beside her . sahira shifts uncomfortably in her seat as a heat fills her cheeks . “ no one new , for your information . ” she replies finally in a teasing manner .

     “ it truly is ! like , damn , let a dude sing an emotional ballad about lost love . they don’t want me reveling in my sadness , i guess , ” he jokes through a laugh . a wide grin stretches across his face at the girl’s palpable blush , a sizable palm coming to rest on her cheek . “ stop being so cute ! ” he teasingly warns , his voice a husk whisper as his hand falls back to his side , eyes moving to scan over some lyrics she scribbled over . “ that it does not , but it’s a start , ” he reminds her . “ why don’t we ever write a song together ? like , i know we have different styles , but i think we can do somethin’ cool . and maybe you’ll fall in love with me or something during the process because i’ve been waiting for that moment , ” luca jokes . “ in all seriousness , though , i’m always doing collabs . you and i should do something .” 

     𝑎 𝑠𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑟 of her own follows luca’s chuckle . the hand that ｒｅａｃｈｅｓ towards the girl surprises her at first , making her blush that’s already burning across her cheeks 𝖇𝖑𝖆𝖟𝖊 even hotter . “ sorry , ” sahira mumbles in reply to luca’s cautionary quip . when luca turns his attention to her notebook , the girl exhales , allowing herself relax as much as she can in his presence . “ a slow start , ” she replies while she finally stretches out her legs , moving to sit beside the blond properly . in listening to his words she 𝒻𝓁𝓊𝓈𝒽𝑒𝓈 , yet again , but this time she clears her throat & composes herself with relative ease . at least comparably to the last time she was flustered , mere moments ago . “ fall in 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 with you ? ” she asks with a teasing laugh . “ aren’t you supposed to fall for ME ? ” sahira adds a smirk lightening her features . “ but in all seriousness , i do need to broaden my horizons , add to my repertoire . & a collab with the king of 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 ballads might be my road to fame , ” the girl teases . “ have any lyrics we can run with ? ” she asks leaning over to gaze at her journal in his hands . “ i’m not sure my lyrics are exactly love ballad worthy , especially for the luca reid . ”

      luca sat on his sectional , strumming his fender stratocaster mindlessly as he hummed notes . “ i’m having insane writer’s block , ” the male huffed before setting his guitar aside , flipping through his moleskine that was filled with hundreds of songs , albeit unsuccessful ones . “ like , to be fair , i just released an album , but i feel this need to write , y’know ? ” he said as he looked over at the brunette . “ and it sucks when nothin’ comes to mind , ” he pouted , setting his tattered journal on the coffee table before him and turning his attention to sahira . “ i want to hear what you have , though . you always have killer songs , ” he grins , his teeth digging into his bottom lip to suppress his smile . “ c’mon , pretty . i wanna feel inspired . ”

     𝑙𝑖𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑚𝑠 wrap around jean clad legs , hugging her knees to her chest as she sits on the couch beside luca . sahira’s chin rests on the top of her knees as she listens to luca , a soft 𝔰𝔪𝔦𝔯𝔨 playing on her lips . he’s describes a feeling that the girl has come to know & come to HATE . “ writer’s block , the ultimate enemy . ” the brunette murmurs as she scooches closer towards the blonde , trying to get a better look at his 𝑗𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑙 . “ i usually have a tough time writing after just releasing an album too , ” she assures with an encouraging smile . “ but it’s the worst when you have so much 𝒾𝓃𝓈𝓅𝒾𝓇𝒶𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 but nothing to write , like you have so much to say but nothing comes out . ” the singer songwriter details the feeling she knows all too well . a blush creeps over bronze skin , settling on her cheeks and her neck . “ i have a ｆｅｗ lyrics written here & there , ” she says , reaching for her own journal she’s brought with her . “ but a few lyrics a song does not make . ” sahira adds before flipping to some half filled pages in her notebook .
